concerns. but first heat wave. our camera showing us the sunrising on what will be another hot day here in the bay area. this is going to be where you want to be, right? the beach. a cool and comfortable start there, let's get right to mike neek co. >> you can imagine just kind of snug eling into that cool stand this morning, that would feel great. hi, everybody. here's a look at live do lar seven. there's clouds along the coast. they're not going to last long because there no clouds on the north bay coast and that dry air is going to filter down to the rest of us. with total sunshine about everywhere it's up to the breeze to cool us off and it's going to do that along the coast and into the san francisco shore bay line. for the rest of us it's going to be hot again. mid 50s to upper 60s 7:00. we'll stay into 60s at the coast, the 80s around the bay and 90s to 100 inland. sioux. we've got slow traffic on the western side of the bay bring. it's actually picking up quite nicely as you make your way into san francisco. the eastern side, though, we've

another raise. yesterday the california citizens compensation commission approved a 3% pay hike. that snarts december. it's the fitchth raise in as many years for lawmakers that pushes governor brown's salary up to $195,000 and that makes him the highest paid governor in the country. happening today, san francisco super advisor said to vote on a proposal to ban the sale of flavored toy backco. it would prohibit retailers from selling menthol cigarettes, flavored chewing tobacco and lick kids containing nicotine. they say they target minority communities and teenagers. small business owners say the ban is going to hurt them and only promote a black market of flavored tobacco products. millions of dollars in relief is coming to san jose to help flood victims. they passed a bill allotting $5.4 million for flood relief. they say the money will go to how'sing for flood victims. days of heavy rain caused coyote creek to overflow in february. it caused at least whun million dollars in damage to homes and

this morning questions still remain over the death of otto warmbier the american student who was held captive by north korea. the 22-year-old died yesterday, days after he returned home in a coma. he was released from north korea unconscious and unresponsive. the country claims that he contracted botulism. his family said, quote, the awful tortious mistreatment our son received at the hands of the north koreans ensured no other outcome was possible. >> even if you believe their explanation of botulism and a sleeping pill causing the coma, and we don't, there is no excuse for any civilized nation to have kept his condition secret. >> the china-based tour group that took warmbier to north korea said it will no longer take americans there. i do want to jump in with a quick update here. the coroner's office in syne syne ju -- cincinnati saying it's going to officially investigate his death. it will be done at the
