now from abc 7, live breaking news. >> breaking news. a person hit and killed by a train in sunnyvale. now a three hour closure. >> alexis smith has been tracking this all morning long. let's get to her for an update. >> hey, good morning, guys. yeah, the investigation continues. this is video from sky 7. from about an hour ago. you can see the trains not moving. this happened at about 8:30 this morning. unfortunately, you know, any time we have a fatal situation, this is just a long term situation. so crews are still on the scene.

if we want to flip over to our graphics here i have an update as far as cal train riders are concerned sunnyvale station is closed. the earliest it will reopen is about 12:30 this afternoon. earn this saying -- they were saying that three hours would be the minimum on the time. so we are halfway through that at this point. they are not providing a bus bridge, but vta is assisting. the rest of the trains are single-tracking past sunnyvale station. so this is going to be continuing, hopefully not too far into the afternoon commute. hopefully we get that 12:30 final frame where we get that open. we have another issue, this in the mission bay area. this was a car that was taking a turn way too fast, popped up on the muni station there, that barrier, that fire hydrant. that car has been removed. this is right near at&t park. it did resume normal service about an hour ago. so things are returning to

normal in the mission bay neighborhood as well. back to you. >> thank you for joining us. i'm matt keller. >> i'm kristen sze. the first weekend activities of pride weekend are getting underway. to tonight's big march, there's a lot happening. abc 7 news reporter tiffany wilson is live at the park where celebrants are starting to gather. >> reporter: that's right, kristen, and the brunch is going to be held right behind me it's hosted by the transcommunity and then it sets off from doe lower es park. inside the city hall, couples are about to walk down the aisle. pride weekend kicks off tomorrow but city hall is celebrating love all day today. >> we're really letting people know that love lives here and we're very excited to celebrate our lgbt community. >> reporter: the county clerk says about 40 couples get married on a daily basis and

they expect 100 today. walk-ins are still lucky. >> instantly in love. >> reporter: that's how this couple felt when they met and now they're moments away from exchanging rings. >> i can't talk right now. this is exciting. >> very exciting. >> yeah. >> berating. >> reporr: they flew in from las vegas to get married during pride weekend. they will receive a special marriage certificate to honor the occasion. after the wedding ceremonies all of the couples can get their pictures taken in the city hall provided photo booth. the newlyweds plan to celebrate at the pride festival tomorrow. barricades are already in place around civic center plaza and police say security will be similar to last year. meaning no oversized bags and everyone should expect to be screened. extra officers will be on patrol throughout the weekend as well. and if you have any questions about the size of bags this is about 16 x 16. it would be allowed inside, but

anything 18 x 18 or bigger would not be allowed in the festival. they don't have any storage lockers so simply leave them at home. live in san francisco, tiffany wilson, abc 7 news. >> all right, thanks. the pride celebrations will mean a lot of street closures around san francisco this weekend. in fact, some are already under way. >> let's check in with alexis. >> how about leave the car at home. that's the number one trip if you're traveling around san francisco this weekend. yeah, ride sharing services. mass transit. just getting there on foot. that's going to be the best way and as tiffany mentioned boy, we have barriers up already. this is all around city hall there. civic center, united nations plaza. we have a lot of the surface streets closed and if they're not closed yet we have some at noon today, some more at 5:00 tonight. we have the marches tonight and then the events will escalate. we'll get busier and busier throughout the weekend. so i want to talk about a couple

of really busy areas. both saturday and sunday it starts at noon on saturday and and 11:00 until 6:00 on sunday. we are expecting hundreds of thousands on sunday so the pride parade starts at 10:30 sunday morning. market street will be closed along with a lot of other surface streets between beale and 8th street. they start at 6:00 a.m. and the closures will last well into the afternoon. let's check in with meteorologist mike nicco. looks like we have decent weather for the festivities. >> yes. it will be comfortable out there. let's look at the graphics as we go down the parade route to city hall there. 9:00 in the morning, pretty cloudy, 59. and it wille breezy and sunny and 66 at 3:00 and t by the time the festivities end at 6:00, it's going tock about 61 degrees. before we get there we have some issues today to talk about. we still got heat advisories for the east bay inland where temperatures could reach the 90s

today. and we have poor air quality in the same area. it's another spare the air day. for the rest of us, the heat over. i'll show it when it gets to your neighborhood coming up next. >> thank you. people and their dogs have a place go in the south bay if they want to escape the heat. santa clara libraries will continue to accommodate pets today. >> it's great. very wonderful, that we're able the. because you know she's still very young. >> it's a health concern throughout the entire county right now. so it's nice to be able to the a little something that makes it a little easier for people to get through their day. >> well, this comes after two people died from heat related illnesses in santa clara county this week. the heat weave is having an -- wave is having an impact at the wineries. the hot weather is spurring the grapes to grow faster. also vineyard workers are starting and ending their day earlier because state law requires them to stop working for safe tiff reasons when temperatures hit 95 degrees.

you can track the weather and heat where you live with the accuweather app. you can be notified of heat alerts and advisories. well, happening now, sonoma raceway is hitting up for a big nascar weekend. amy hollyfield is there live on the track. you have some high speed experience out there, right? >> reporter: well, sort of, matt. i didn't get to go as fast as these guys get to go and they're about to start the warm-up laps. so we'll see some speed. but i did have fun. it's a great course. it's beautiful and really fun. these are the curves that make the sonoma raceway challenging for drivers and fun for fans. we got to take it on in a pace car this morning with a nascar driver at the wheel. he crashed here last year. the ten turns in two miles can be tough. >> it's so much that goes into one lap here to get a good lap. so, you you you you you

the regular tracks you don't shift at all. >> the fans love it. many set up a city high above the track. they stake out their spot on thursday and camp till monday. >> we love our spot. we have been here for 13 years. >> reporter: but these spots don't come easy. all camping locations are sold out. and some are much better than others. she put a deposit down in december for the stellar view. >> there's a waiting list for the front row. my friends that didn't get their deposit in are in the back row. >> reporter: but look at the huge tent that popped up last night in front of them. as people's ideas of camping seem to get bigger every year. >> you can see the whole track from almost from our camp site. except for that big tent. >> i'm a little bummed out. i was going to go down but they talked me out of it. just to ask what the heck. >> reporter: but this won't ruin their weekend. they'll go down to the track to catch the action. nascar only comes here once a year. this will be dale earnhardt jr.'s last time to race here.

>> i'm really sad. i love dale jr., i have since he came on the circuit. and i'm really bummed out. >> reporter: even dale jr. says this track is a challenge for him. now, look at these stands. they will be full. they're expecting more than 100,000 people to come through here this weekend. there are still tickets available though if you want to head this way. if you're not coming to this avoid the area. traffic's expected to be bad. especially on sunday and in the morning as fans arrive and then around 4:00 p.m. as the fans leave to go home. reporting live in sonoma, amy hollyfield. northbound lanes will close for a race next week. according to kate larson, the bridge board voted this morning to close all northbound lanes for the san francisco marathon. that race is scheduled for sunday, july 23rd. now during previous races one lane was allowed open, but given

global terror attacks involving vehicles they want to take extra precautions this year. so the northbound lanes will be closed from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. on race day and southbound lanes will not be impacted. we now know the name of a teenage girl killed in an incident. victorino la rocca fell to her death. victoria was going to be a senior. the teen was with an adult and another friend when she slipped and plunged into the water. authorities believe she was not on the designated trail when she lost her footing. she died just minutes after being rescued. hes a an a-list actor and now he's being investigated by the fbi. and dennis rodman is

developing news, a wildfire is exploding in size in utah. it broke out on saturday and it's burning in brian head in the southern part of the state. right now it's only 5% contained. hot, dry weather is making it difficult for crews to get ahead of it. 750 people are under evacuation orders. a man started it by using a torch to burn weeds. a swimmer paralyzed days before going to mit. now he's giving back to others on abc 7 news at 4:00. and tonight on abc 7 news at 5:00, a fast moving fire damages homes in value ajoe. and the order was they were to
