he was a part of the charles manson cult, but not involved with the killing of sharon tate. davis has earned a doctoral degree while in jail and has gone 25 years without a behavioral infraction. this is the fifth time davis has been recommended for parole only to have it blocked by a governor. 8:13 is our time. one proud mom is telling us about how her daughter saved a stranger's life this month. leslie got the story on this in flight emergency. >> it started out as a normal flight from oakland to chicago on june the 6th for souter anderson and her daughter, kim ber ly, who was en route to visit family, but halfway through the flight, there waan urgent announcement. >> is there a doctor or a nurse on this plane. there is an emergency. >> susan anderson says her daughter, a registered nurse, was the only licensed medical professional on the flight. a middle-aged woman went into an flakt tick shot. >> could not breathe.

she was struggling and feeling ill and shutting down. it was a dire emergency. >> pilot prepared for an emergency landing as the flight crew pulled out a first aid kit with off brand epipens in it. the first one did not work. the sec one did and the woman started breathing. another passenger offered benadryl. >> they called my daughter an angel. she was truly an angel. she saved a life. she saved a life. it was, i was so proud of her. >> anderson says her daughter is traveling out of the country now. she decided to share her story and warneded those with severe allergies to always carry emergency injeks with them.

police in the east bay have arrested four women accused of stealing $3,000 worth of clothing from victoria's secret. walnut creek police say the women robbed the broadway plaza location of the chain as well as another store in concord. on facebook, police said quote, we love to have visitors shop and dine in our lovely town. we just appreciate it when people actually pay for the items they want. the school board will hold a meeting on monday to help determine the feature. it's called the north gate succession plan has come under fire from opponents who call it segregation. a protest is planned ahead of the meeting organized at the better together rally. the county board has until the end of august to accept or reject the proposal. if approved b the state board, a special election would be held. assembly and a proposal to bring single payer to the state.

the senate passed the $400 billion bill this month, but did not say how the state would raise money to pay for it. it's where residents pay higher taxes to cover health care for all residents. they decided to keep the bill in committee. all the northbound lanes of the golden gate bridge will be shut down during the san francisco marathon. kate larson looks at the reasons behybrid the decision. >> on sunday, drivers will be taking a backseat to runners. >> it's 15,000 runners, sold out event. >> the board voted unanimously the to close all northbound lanes to traffic from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. on july 3rd. spearheading the closure was the bridge captain. she says the usual arrangement of using cones to separate runners from run lane of traffic
