coming up on 6:00 a.m. good morning to you on thursday, june 29th. gang's autohere with the exception of natash off today but we are here for you and definitely looking at weather and traffic. how's it look? >> pretty gray this morning but as the case goes, with our summer type pattern, sunshine this afternoon. now, the marine layer squished due to high pressure and seeing fog trying to form around petaluma. two miles visibility there. a quick look. you can see how much lower the clouds are than yesterday. temperatures in the 12-hour day planner, mid to upper 50s at 7:00. bottom line, that's the coastal temperatures. they stay in the upper 50s. around the bay, the low to mid-70s and heading towards noon and 4:00, 74 to 81 degrees. i do have a light warming trend coming up in the accuweather 7-day forecast. here's alexis. >> good morning.

take a look at the roads. westbound 92 this morning. little hazy over the water but we don't have any major visibility issues this morning either. want to take you back up to the north bay. we had trouble with some metal debris. sounds like at least six vehicles hit that. we have a couple flat tires. vehicles with flat tires off on the shoulder and confirmed everything is back open. they're waiting far tow truck but that is not blocking anything and looks like the backup is totally gone now, too. a look at mass transit in less than 10. >> thank you. after months of wrangling, a watered down version of the president trump's travel ban goes into effect later today. here's a live look at san francisco international airport. as travelers are getting going this morning. we're told attorneys of several civil rights organizations will be on hand at sfo by 8:00 this morning helping those who have questions. the ban goes into effect at 5:00 p.m. our time. it applies to foreign visitors of six countries. except those coming here for school or work.

the fire and recommended tenants fix that hazard. that finding detailed in an amended lawsuit. 36 people died in the december fire. our media partners at the bay area area news group obtained a copy of the suit adding the city of oakland and state of california to a growing list of defendants. it alleges the agencies failed in their duties to shut down the crowded fire trap and its illegal parties. the fremont police department reopened a decades old missing person's case. 25-year-old sherry mullman disappeared in 1989. from a boyfriend's home. the two had a daughter today. she was 5 years old at the time. investigators say they have decided to reopen the case because of potential new evidence. in addition, they're reviewing physical evidence originally located in 1989 and are contacting known witnesses to the disappearance. they're asking anyone with any information to come forward.

i'm just getting an update in to our live desk about that fire in southern california right now. live images. this is in san clemente and orange county. the fire grown to 700 acres. it started near camp pendleton after 8:00 last night and moving north all night long and threatening some homes and power lines and this is video from earlier this morning. you can see those flames and how high they are. several hundred firefighters are on the scene right now trying to get this thing under control. officials say it is only 10% contained. but so far, they have not ordered any evacuations. we'll keep an eye on things as they continue to develop. fire season is ramping up with at least 30 of them in 11 states and 9 of those wildfires are in california. a fire came very close to dozens of homes in burbank. those residents had to be evacuated yesterday afternoon. none of those homes damaged and

residents were slowly being let back in. now to the south bay, a smaller fire burned close to buildings. also started yesterday afternoon off of lost ranch road and almadine valley. cal fire says firefighter prevented any damage. get over here! >> tense moments at the grand opening of the lind county fair in. >> with a yesterday. a tornado touched down nearby. the one that you saw just a few seconds ago, that was one of several tornadoes in that particular area. the storms actually moved through iowa and wisconsin. they also caused some damages to some buildings, some of the taller buildings. also brought down some power lines and local reporters now saying that a garage collapsed on top of a woman. she is expected to be okay. but some really dangerous moments another that fair. a deadly shooting during a

fbi agent pleaded not guilty to charges of a shooting of a malitia leader. authorities attempting to arrest a man last january and the arizona rancher and passengers tried to flee and then nearly hit a police roadblock. officials say fbi agent w. joseph asturada fired two shots and missed. he allegedly said he never pulled the trig. officials say he reached for a handgun. a pit bull puppy found with the muzzle tied shut last month is ready to find a good home. gabby was picked up in east palo alto. look at this. >> oh. >> the humane society said she

supreme court partially lifted lower court injunctions against president trump's executive order that temporarily banned visas for citizens of the six countries. journalists, students, workers or lecture earls with a valid invitation or employment contract are exempt from the ban. the ruling also makes an exemption for an applicant with a bona fide relationship with a u.s. citizen and interesting to see how that's going to be monitored. sfo we spoke with a duty manager and they're also telling us that they're monitoring this situation to see if there's protests that spring up here because of the new restrictions. reporting live from sfo, janine de la vega, abc7 news. >> thank you. that's a big change at the airports heemplt oes another one. new security measures coming for flights that are going into the u.s. from 280 airports around the world. homeland security says you can expect more thorough screening of passengers, he trek tronnics and see more searches around

majority leader mcconnell trying to get a revised mergs of the health care bill put together by tomorrow for a vote before congress goes on break in august. it's not clear which parts of the bill are going to be tweaked. but mcconnell delayed a vote this week due to lack of support of his own party. vice president mike pence says the president is going to work to move the plan forward. >> before this summer's out, president trump's going to work with this congress and we are going to keep a promise to the american people and we are going to repeal and replace obamacare. >> last night protesters gathered outside trump hotel in washington, d.c. as the president arrived for a political fund-raiser. this morning, some new details on the deadly shooting in san francisco at u.p.s. abc7 news learned before the shooting the gunman set off a metal detector and allowed into the building. a source with knowledge of the investigation says u.p.s. driver jimmy lam activated the detector and a security guard allowed him

inside anyway. his backpack had two guns inside. two weeks ago lam shot and killed three drivers and then himself. u.p.s. would not comment on the revelation saying its investigation is ongoing. police in san jose trying to find out what led to an attempted murder-suicide. police say a man shot a woman and then killed himself. the woman is expected to be okay. police say the man is the only suspect and there were no other victims. >> it was another female that was seen running away and we determined that that was a female that because of the shots being fired was just running away from the scene itself. but there are no other victims that we're aware of. >> a nonprofit group that deals with gangs tells abc7 news this neighborhood struggles with gang related issues. police have not said whether this particular shooting was gang related. a petaluma man is arrest for apparently having sex with a teen he met through an app. the man the 23.

the alleged victim is 15. police say he admitted he knew he was having sex with a minor and said he exchanged sexual messages with other my northerlies so that's why police are spreading the word about this. they're trying to find these other potential underaged victims. there are new developments in the case of the santa cruz doctor accused of sex crimes against children. despite prosecutor's objections, the judge granted the doctor bail yesterday set at $6.4 million. if he bails out, he would be under house arrest with gps monitoring and limits on internet access. the terms would include a no-contact order with potential witnesses and alleged victims. >> we definitely appreciate the court's analysis, but nonetheless, we are concerned that may not be sufficient to protect the public. >> for the first time yesterday, we saw a nurse in the case accused of being an accomplice. she faces similar charges as the doctor and they would be tried

together. her bail has already been set at $500,000. and she is banned from practicing as a nurse until this case is resolved. prosecutors are hoping the third defendant in this case emily stephens will be extradited here from arizona. the next court date is stet for july 27th. new this morning, one of the pope's closest advisers is taking a leave of absence following sex assault charges. australian cardinal george pell said overnight he is taking a leave from the post after authorities charged him with multiple counts of sexual assault. he is the highest ranking member of the vatican to be charged in the catholic church's long-running sex scandal. the 78-year-old denies the allegations. the cardinal is treasurer for the vatican and a close ally of pope francis. happening today, a protest planned in front of the new courthouse in dublin hoping to put a hold on in-custody arraignments. the east county hall of justice

just opened monday. the protest led by a public defender and according to the east bay express that public defender brendan woods says holding arraignments at this new location will make it hard for relatives of defendants to be there. many of them live further away in oakland, berkeley and albany. meanwhile, though, the presiding judge claims family members don't usually attend the arraignments and with the county jail nearby it simply makes sense. looks like not everybody's taking off early for the holiday. look at the san mateo bridge westbound there. if you're going to be on the roads today, mainly dry. few reports of drizzle near the coast. mass transit, clouds to sunshine in the afternoon. on the water especially north of the bay bridge, it's going to be breezy and choppy and continues through the delta communities. look at the 40s in woodside. rest of the temperatures range from 51 in daly city to foster
