that breaking news is taking place in southern california, a small plane crashed on to i-405 near john wayne airport in santa ana. >> two people on board the plane survived, but were hurt. the plane suddenly crashed you can see the huge explosion. it clipped a center divider before coming to a stop right in the southbound lanes. >> let's take a live look from our sister station live over the scene. the crash has brought traffic along the busy highway to a

download it for free and get weather updates on the go. it's the first full day of president trump's travel ban, there's a lot of confusion surrounding how it's going to be enforce enforced. the state of hawaii challenging the order in court. >> reporter: immigration attorneys are here, we just checked in with them. they think things are pretty calm, they do plan on having one of the attorneys stay here throughout the day, and having other ones on call overnight. just in case somebody wants legal help. >> no protests this morning at sfo. that could change later today. protesters promised to be back at the airport protesting the ban. >> we have relatives considering travels from community groups who are wondering, what this means for people who come from the same country as them. the confusion has been on going.

>> the policy prevents people from somalia the sudan from entering the u.s. without a bona fide relationship too someone in the u.s. hawaii's attorney general followed an emergency motion asking a federal judge to collar phi the ban. we spoke to those waiting for relatives internationally. >> i can't take it completely positive. if our loved ones are not allowed to come here, it would affect us in a way -- >> the trump administration made a change to the policy saying fiancees will now be considered close family members and allowed to travel to the u.s. some people are giving the trump administration the benefit of the doubt. >> i know it's a hardship. i think it's good.

>> reporter: it's possible there could be more modifications to the ban in the days to come. the judge has given federal government lawyers until monday to respond to the court filing. reporting live from sfo. abc 7 news. >> thank you. >> new this morning, the trump administration has begun a new surge initiative targeting parents who paid to have their children illegally brought to the u.s. the goal is to dismantle human smuggling operations. they are going after parents, relatives and other adults who paid guys known as coyotes to escort kids across the border. the wave will send a wave of fear through communities. >> the feud continues right now between the president and a pair of cable news hosts. the morning joe anchors firing back at president trump's insults yesterday. now the president is firing back at the firing back.

emily is sorting through the fight that seems to have taken up all the oxygen in the room. >> we apologize for that, we're having a little difficulty with that video. we're going turn now to learning more about yesterday's deadly crash on highway 37. arthur della ray was killed in that crash. it happened around 3:00 p.m. near atherton avenue. a truck slammed in the back of this sedan. he was a passenger in the car that got hit and he died at the scene. and the driver is recovering from serious injurie, the vehicle was the one that was hit in the crash. new this morning, a big change coming to the danville police department. lieutenant allen shields is being promoted to police chief, he takes over the department next saturday. shields is replacing simmp kins who has a new position with the contra costa sheriff's office.

hamilton yesterday. in total, 85 acres of land burned near grant lake. it took firefighters about two hours to put the flames under control. they were already use iing cont burns. these are the kinds of neighbors you want to have around, if your neighborhood suddenly catches fire. a five acre fire very close to homes. this is off north capital avenue a few blocks from mayberry road. neighbors didn't wait for firefighters to get there, they jumped into action. >> we want to have hoses for our neighbors at home, and we all just grabbed each other's hoses. >> i hope nobody's home would burn. and the wind kept shifting, so you never knew where it was going. >> the fire department did not end up having to evacuate any homes, they did get the wildlife center of silicon valley a mandatory order. the san jose fire department said the flames didn't damage

any structures or homes. parents, if your kids play with fidget spinners, a warning this morning about the popular toy, the consumer product safety commission is investigating two cases where spinners with internal batteries burst into flames while charging. they powered the toy's bluetooth speakers, no one was hurt in those incidents. parents are being warned not to charge these toys while sleeping. they were already on the cpsc radar because children can choke on the small parts. a consumer scam callers are posing as police officers. callers claim they have a warrant for the residents arrest, and they're demanding payment and gift cards in order to avoid arrest. the scammers are doing this by altering your caller i.d., to make it seem like it's coming from the sfpd none emergency

right along the immediate coastline, we have stubborn clouds out there. that's the white ingratiating you see on your screen. we're slowly clearly to the coast. a live look at san jose and the south bay, you have sunshine there, nice and bright, your temperatures are responding accordingly. san jose 54. 61 and gray in oakland. up to 81 in brentwood, and 63, that current number in napa. highs today, very typical summer pattern, wide range in temperatures, depending on where you live. 81 the high in san jose. oakland 66 in san francisco later on, midday sunshine. 9 o in antioch, san rafael up to 91 degrees. folks playing volleyball on the beach, just beginning to get busy. this will be a popular place later on today, the clouds are eroding as we speak. 73 the high in santa cruz. ocean water temperature 55.
