pair of accidents brought traffic to a grinding halt this afternoon. sky 7 shows us an accident that sent 11 people to the hospital with minor injuries. the chp says before 1:00 a casino bus injured two people in vehicles. less than an hour later traffic heading to the bridge had to crawl around a two-car accident in that backup. sky 7 was over the scene at the 101 approach to the bridge. no one was seriously nothing further that crash. new godevelopments in the murder of a gas station cashier. police have identified the suspect who was found dead. 42-year-old zepp accused of killing the clerk. investigators found his body near his car on 20th street the next morning. they say he beat and shot him to death. the victim's family set up a go

minutes. thank you. firefighters in mountain view say an electric coffee roaster set this huge fire this morning. the fire department posted this video to facebook. they say the fire began around 8:30 at a four flames spread from the garage to the second floor to the attic. no one was hurt. take a look at this video of a hay fire on deer valley road. $25,000 of hay has been destroyed. crews are letting the fire burn itself out. a former republican assemblyman from southern california has joined the 2018 race for governor. he's 52-year-old david hadley. he can appeal with moderate voters unhappy. hadley served in the asemikbsem for two years.

stabbing a police lieutenant at the airport in flint, michigan was arranigned today in federal court. he was indicted by a grand jury on charges of committing an act of violence at an airport and interfering with security. investigators say he shot before stabbing police lieutenant jeff nevel in the neck. he survived that attack. he was motivated by hatred for the u.s. and acting alone. 26 people have been killed in a violent gunfight in northern mexico. it happened in the town of las varas. the clash involved the members of the gang and a faction of the drug cartel. it's been a violent year for mexico so far with the country seeing the highest murder total in two decades. drug cartels are being blamed for the increase. homeland security secretary john kelly will discuss security. kelly wants to address criminal enterprises that operate in the

one of the biggest problems the day after the fourth of july is the clean up of garbage and fireworks. matt keller met up with an army of volunteers cleaning up. >> reporter: call it if fourth of july afterparty. >> just needle caps, no needles. >> reporter: necessary after a busy day after the beach. save our shores runs the star spangled holiday clean up. last year they had 252 volunteers collecting almost 2500 pounds on beaches. this year the fourth of july landed on a tuesday so the hope is there's less trash left behind. >> i think it's on a saturday you'd see a lot more but you'd be surprised on any given day. >> reporter: illegal fireworks are usually a problem on the beach but this year didn't seem to be as big as issue on the shore. we posted this drone footage above the boardwalk and you could see a few refresh her recollection going off. santa cruz police threatened
