it's saturday, july 8th. good morning and thanks for joining us. let's start with a quick look at the weather with lisa. she's tracking live diop lar 7 for us. >> you can see the air quality decreasing from all of yesterday's heat and fog trying to form on live doppler 7. a little breezy in spot, but overall, we are warmer than yesterday at this hour. 6 to 7 degrees warmer. it's 62 in san francisco. 73 in san jose. mountain view, 71 and look how hazy it is. it's breezy at about and temperatures range here from the 60s in santa rosa to the mid-70s. concord, livermore, 73. you can sigh see the haze.

50s to 70s now. by noon, it will be in the 90s inland. 104, our hottest spots inland, but sea breeze kicks up tonight. a a cooler second half of your weekend ahead. >> thank you! we have developing news from contra costa county where evacuations have been ordered because of several fast moving grass fires in an area south of brentwood. cal fire says three fires broke out near marsh creek road and deer valley road. crews have stopped flames from advancing in two of the fires. another 150 wildfire is burning near marsh creek road. some structures are threatened. again, evacuations have been b ordered for several residents in this area. cal fire says they have 150 firefighters at the scene. trz in butte county, evacuation orders are still in effect because a wildfire that's bushed at least 1,000 acres. ten homes have been destroyed.

the fire is blamed for six minor injuries. five civilians and one firefighter b have been hurt. parts of community of bangor are under orders. that includes the equine rescue center. this was posted on facebook. you can see how close those flames are. that's the main house on the right. so far, about 30 of ercs horses have been mooued to safety, but about 50, equine, cattle and goats remain at the property. as you'll recall, abc7 viewers helped save it from a financial crisis in to 20 15. a four alarm apartment fire has burned three buildings in antioch. it starteded around 10:00 last night on delta fair boulevard. 18 units were damaged. firnls say the fire sp

acre of dry grass. three were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. four others were treated at the scene. a fire captain says illegal fireworks may have started the fire. investigators believe there is nearly a million dollars in damage tone to the apartment complex. two police buildings were evacuated last night after someone called in a bomb threat. the police station and the jail as well as the 911 dispatch center the police station and jail as well as the 911 dispatch center at mcdonald and nevadaen were all evacuated. tiffany wilson explains, so were the residents who lived next to those buildings. >> the threat started with two phone calls. both times, the caller used profanity and said a bomb inside the building was going to blow up. the employees, ten staff members and several prisoners in cells all evacuated around 6:40 this evening.

police went door to door asking residents to clear the area. >> i couldn't go down the street. i lost my journal. >> but police loaned richmond a bomb sniffing dog. it took about 45 minutes to clear the communications center. during that time, all 911 calls went to the mobile command center and contra costa county sheriff's department. >> it's the lifeline for the community. for any of the safety concerns. so, that's why it was a priority if for us to ensure that the communications center is cleared an safe and that way, we can within the kopt with our normal operational dispatching. >> the communication center reopeneded at 9:00. police station cleared at 10:15. in richmond, tiffany wilson, abc7 news. now to oakland's uptown neighborhood where more than 24 hours later, evacuations are still in effect for people who live next to a construction project destroyed by a major fire.

the cause of the fire is still under investigation. but some neighbors have suspiciouses of their own. >> neighbors grabbed their cell phones when they woke up to this friday morning. a wall of flames seven torres tall. >> my apartment was glowing orange and i saw the whole place was on fire. >> sky7 was over the blaze where a 196 unit apartment building under construction became an inferno. the intense heat of the fire caused the giant construction crane to spin. up to 900 people living nearby were evacuated and can't return home until the danger has passed. >> there's substantial hazard with the instability of the crane and the scaffolding nearby, so because of that, we don't want to put anybody in harm's way. >> the fire department now working on a plan to dismantle

the crane, arson investigators are looking for a cause. >> we are serious about it. we are bringing all resources to bear to investigate this incident. >> officials not calling this arson, others believe it's highly suspicious. they know some in oakland are antidevelopment. >> you put mor oakland people at risk. >> a dog was allowed to return home with a police escort to grab some belongings. it's a but i first friday in oakland, but some restaurants are closed. >> we opened for dinner, but it's not the same. we're being affected by the fire. >> luckily, no one hurt. abc 7 has been digging into suspicions of arson and the inferno appears to fit into a string of incidents in the area in cent years. the marketing photo for the project shows its promise. 196 units of badly needed housing in oakland.

23 acres yesterday and came dangerously close to homes in the crocker amazonia. crews were able to stop it from spreading to those homes. no one was hurt. to the east bay. new details regarding the hit an run accident that left two children dead. the suspect, wilson jr. has been discharged from the hospital and is now in jail. video shows an officer escort ing him to the martinez detention facility. wilson is is accused of driving under the influence on highway 4. this is video from the crash last week. police say he slammed into a family's suv then left the scene. two children died in the wreck. 5-year-old vincent reyes and his 10-year-old brother, lorenzo. a u.s. postal service carrier is is in stable condition after she was shot in her truck. the shooting happened in oakland near the corner of bancroft and avenue yesterday. oakland police say the shooter fired several rounds and bullets went through the vehicle, but the motive is unclear. >> we can't speculate if she was

happening today, a lawyer representing the family of a man shot and killed by police over a year ago will announce the

filing of a lawsuit against the city. 18-year-old anthony nunez tried to commit suicide before she was fatally shot. his family has hired an attorney who accused san jose officers of ignoring his mental health crisis and wrongfully opening fire. he was unarmed when shot. last year, the police chief says officers used great judgment when responding to the incident. attorneys for the two men facing criminal charges in the federal g osha prior, say they plan to ask a judge to release them without bail. derek and max appeared in court yesterday. melanie woodrow has more. >> neither entered the plea has planned. they're waiting for the district attorney's office the to turn over more discovery. >> we see no evidence that they can never show our client

everyone. starting this half hour, a quick look at the weather. here's lisa. >> things are changing, we're being a little smoke drifting into our east bay valleys. we have the fire burning south of the brentwood. also another one on the center coast and also high fire danger with a red flag warning and heat advisory. 62, san francisco, 72 in mountain view. 55 on the coast closer toth bay, you can see the skies bright er. air qualify is better. temperatures will be b comfort b bable here today, but still on the warm side. 67 in santa rosa. 75 in concord and looiivermore. red flag warning for you, but here is where it is and you'll notice mt. hamilton, the diablo range, wind gusts up to 25 miles an hour and from the san the ta cruz mountains, another warm one. but relief is in sight late tonight and the sea breeze coming back into play. still triple digit heat. >> thank you.

at the g-20 summit in hamburg, pruch is getting ready to head back to the u.s. from germany. here's a a live look at ayeir force one on the left side of the screen. earlier, mr. trump met with world leaders, but it's his face-to-face with putin that the still the focus of everyone's attention. >> this morning, president trump is back to meeting with world leaders at the g-20 summit sitting side by side with prime minister may. >> she developed the -- will be a very good -- between our two countries. >> later this morning, he'll meet with china's xi, another crucial sit down that comes amid heightened tensions and the growing frustration with china's unwlingness to take hard line with pyongyang, but even the president himself is is among those still talking about yesterday's face-to-face with putin.
