new details on the ghost ship warehouse fire. >> their goal to find new includes to help their lawsuit. >> vic lee is live where the tons of debris was taken. vic. >> reporter: at the end o the small road, that's where you'll find the plaintiff's tone and her crew painstakingly sifting through the rubble. >> we're here with our experts looking for evidence. >> reporter: it's like trying to find a needle in the haystack. this is evidence from the charred debris. debris hauled from the goshen fire. at a second location, a hangar at the airport. the judge ordered them to preserve the remnants for

possible evidence. this is the first time mary alexander and her crew of experts have been authorized to go through the lot and cyst through the debris. what are they looking for? >> for example, we're looking for any electrical wiring. we're looking for cameras. they may have some photos on them. >> reporter: alexander is the lead attorney representing the families of 31 of the 36 people who died in the fire. they're suing the landlord, pge, the city, the manager and his second in command max harris. they've both been charged with multiple counts of involuntary manslaughter. finding new evidence can bolster the case that the cause of the ghost ship fire. >> they thought it was electrical, but they cannot rule out candles or innocence.

>> reporter: they'll work here and then start on the hangar. >> the ghost ship fire is affecting artists this an. dozens are being forced to leave their studios after the city code inspector found their building too dangerous. they have ten days to vacate the panama pottery studio. it's a centuries-old ceramics factory converted to studio space about a decade ago. they found 13 violations of code. the owner is working with the city on safety improvements. >> we're not anything cloeft to the ghost ship. we don't have anyone living here, we don't have parties. >> davis also says the city should give displaced artists more help to move. in the south bay crews continue to battle a fire. flames broke out yesterday & san

'll have the full accuweather forecast. dan? >> thanks a lot. investigators are looking into what caused a fire. flames gutted at least four vehicles parked outside cardinal kitchen and bath. they stopped the flames from reaching the inside of the building, however. the fire triggered automatic sprinklers as well. no wuj was hurt.

ail mie they were making sure the interfaux didn't reignite. they saw fires. officials also asked residents to shelter in place from the potentially toxic smoke. cell phone video shows an impr improp impromptu. watch as a police car and skateboarder collide. watch again in slow motion. some were outraging saying it looks like the officer sticks his arm out in front of the skater causing him to fall. a police spokesman says it's hard to tell from the video. what they do know is they

collide and the officer was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury. that i tried to offer aid to the skater but couldn't find him in the crowd. police were called when people complained skatders had taken over the street and cars couldn't get through. it turned into a standoff. police in riot gear say skaters were throwing things at them and yelling at them. one resident nearby heard what was happening but didn't want to go out. >> it was just fascinating. >> reporter: two police cars were damaged with graffiti and a broken window. >> it bothered me that there was another police car that was vandalized that was trashed. like the back window was broken. that to me is not necessary at all. that disturbed me. >> reporter: there was one major injury. a skater almost makes it down the hill and then crashes. witnesses say he was motionless and bleeding. police say he was taken to the

hospital but expected to survive. >> not scared but concerned for the guy that was injured. it was pretty -- it was -- it looked pretty fun but dangerous at the same time. >> reporter: police say the officer who was injured was treated and released from the hospital. he is going to be okay. no arrests were made. in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. mayor ed lee is channeling nearly $20 million in city money to fund delivery programs for the elderly. the money will give a big boost to charities like meals on wheels, which prepare and deliver almost 2 million meals a year. many are delivered to seniors who live alone and would not be able to stay in their homes without this help. >> this is, i think, at the heart of what we're is up potioned to do as public servants. i'm glad to do it with an organization like meals on wheels who gets to spread happiness all over the city and

do it the right way. >> reporter: besides meals on wheels, they'll do it for other groups. you're looking at the aftermath of a rollover accident in downtown novato. the downtown district tweeted this image. firefighters needed to cut a hole in a vehicle in order to free a woman who was trapped inside. she crashed into the median along redwood boulevard near grant avenue around 10:45 this morning. she suffered mild to moderate injuries. you're looking at two baby squirrels that survived when a tree tumbled. they spotted the tiny rodents. they're now on their way to the lindsey wildlife experience. as for the treeing it narrowly missed the home. we're told the tree broke apart naturally due to one part of it being stronger than the other.

the stories making headlines this morning. the reward increases for information on the shooting death of the jim gilliland killed outside his home. his family and friends increased the reward to $100,000. san jose firefighters are still at the scene of a fire. abc7 news reporter chris nguyen is there live. two baby squirrels survived after a tree fell after splitting in half. the squirrels are now recovering at a wildlife center. donald trump jr. is talk about the meeting with a russian lawyer last summer.

memorial hospital. a warning to parents, don't let your young children use trampolines. >> reporter: this is 3-year-old colton hill right after breaking his femur bone jumping at an indoor trampoline park. >> no mother, no father ever wanted to see their child the way we had to see colton. >> reporter: mom kaitlyn posted the photo on facebook showing colton in his body cast. his doctor told her that the american academy of pediatrics recommends children under the age of 6 never use a trampoline. >> we were shocked because this indoor trampoline park specifically advertises for young children. >> reporter: colton had his accident at sky zone trampoline park in tampa. they said, quote, our thoughts and prayers are with the child and his family. guest safety is a top priority and we're investigating how this incident might have occurred.

it's not just young children. they estimate more than 100,000 people were treated in hospital emergency rooms for trampoline-related injuries in 2015. it's also aware of a total of 21 deaths between 2009 and 2013. in the last five years, the number of trampoline parks in the u.s. has risen from 35 to over 600. most facilities require you to sign a waver before jumping. as of now there are no federal regulations but the industry has put together a set of voluntary safety standards. >> we do offer education and training to make sure that individuals responsible for maintaining and operating the parks are qualified to do so. >> colton's mom decided to share her son's story and hopes mothers h think twice before letting their children jump. we're getting a first look at what rescuers saw along a

well, an elephant was saved from drowning by a team of navy divers after it was caught in an ocean current off the coast of sri lanka. the difficult rescue required a team of navy divers as well as several boats and local wildlife officials. the elephant struggled to keep its trunk above waters. they were able to guide it back to dry land and turn it over to wildlife officials that i've never seen that. in washington the house
