ca car. abc7 news was there yesterday. a possible car crash is a new theory in the disappearance of the 22-year-old. he disappeared on his way to work more than a month ago. >> one of the lowest tides in a couple week, and we found a hyundai wheel made in korea, specific to the tiburon, and a fuel tank wedged in the sand line. >> if it is moss' car, volunteers think this is where he may have flew off the paumpt. a small chunk is missing from the low stone wall that separates the winding road from the rocky cliffs. >> trial is supposed to begin for the man accused of killing kate steinle. there's a good chance it's going to be delayed. the judge is expected to assign the case for juan francisco lopaz sanchez to a different courtroom. steinle was shot two years ago while walking with her dad on pier 14. lopez sanchez said he found a gun, picked it up, and fired it by accident.

lopez sanchez's immigration status touched off a national debate about sanctuary city laws. he had been deported five times before steinle was killed. lopez sanchez has pleaded not guilty to murder charges. >> santa clara county deputies are trying to find out why a man shot and killed his roommate. the shooting happened yesterday morning in saratoga. the 57-year-old suspect called police, admitting he shot his female roommate. they found the 60-year-old victim inside of the house. she was taken to the hospital where she died. the suspect remains in custody this morning. >> concord police are trying to determine if there are more possible victims of a man arrested for molesting a kield at a laundromat. police say this man, 60-year-old jose chavez, assaulted the child on tuesday. investigators say the incident was caught on surveillance camera at that laundromat. the child's grandmother called 911 hours later. an officer recognized chavez at a nearby shopping center and arrested him. >> new details on the case of

the four young men who went missing in pennsylvania. cosno dinardo confessed to killing them. dinardo killed the men after he felt cheated or threatened in a dug deal and he reported burning the bodies at his farm. so far, just one body has been positively identified. dinardo agreed to plead guilty to four counts of first degree murder. in exchange, prosecutors will not seek the death penalty. >> president trump is wrapping up his trip to paris today. couldn't escape the controversy surrounding his son's meeting with a russian lawyer during the campaign. janay norman has more from washington. >> president donald trump making friends in france. invited to celebrate bastille day by emanuel macron, but controversy following close by. trump unable to shake the meeting between his inner circle and the woman his son was told was a russian government lawyer. >> my son is a wonderful young man. he took a meeting with a russian

someone appears to be shooting at cars with a beebe gun along a busy stretch of highway between morgan hill and gilroy. at least two cars have been hit and in one case a little girl was hurt. the back window of julie's minivan shattered while she was driving on santa teresa boulevard yesterday. her two kids were in the car. her 7-year-old daughter grace was hit. >> glass just popped and got me in the ear. >> she's bleeding, and i just -- it was really frustrating to, like, not know what to and to feel so, like, confused and overwhelmed by what the heck is going on. >> one other driver who stopped the help the family said his car was also hit with a pellet. sheriff's deputies took the pellet that got lodged in grace's hair for evidence. >> the state senate expects a vote on monday for extending california's cap and trade laws. governor brown says it may be the most important vote of their lives. >> this cap and trade system along with our other policies putting california in the place

volunteers is expected to finish bagging 100,000 pounds of food for the alameda food bank. abc 7 news was there amid a sea of bags filled for families in need. they're hoping to fill 10,000 bags in all. the ceo of grocery outlet said he called in favors from fellow business leaders to make this happen. >> during the month of july and august when food insecurity for families in need is the highest, we wanted to raise awareness and what better way than collecting food from manufacturers that we do business with in the bay area? >> the food will be distributed throughout the bay area. the food bank is also putting out a call for volunteers this summer. if you would like to help, we have information posted on our website. >> a new playground will soon be ready for kids to enjoy in san francisco's western edition and volunteer heights. volunteers pieced together a jungle gym yesterday as part of the booker t. washington center on presidio avenue. that complex is expanding to
