mountains, upper elevations and north bay. we'll pinpoint your weather forecast coming up. >> thank you. now to breaking news of a triple shooting near uc berkeley. the online site is reporting three people shot near campus this morning. initial reports that police have arrested two suspects, berkeley place say several men got into a fight at durant avenue. someone opened fire, then the group scattered. police say the victims are expected to be okay. we'll continue to follow this story and bring you new updates throughout the morning. time is 6:01. a 5-year-old boy is at children's hospital as a crosswalk collision caught on camera. a family returning to their home was hit by car. everyone survived, but the video you're b about to see may be difficult to watch.

afternoon. firefighters rescued a kit ten from the flames. it is now receiving medical treatment. police are trying to find a missing 5-year-old girl. she was last seen at around 3:15 yesterday afternoon wearing a black shirt, black pants and gray tennis shoes. she has short hair in twists. police think her noncustodial mother took her. they say she has diminished cap capacity. they were tracked to the b.a.r.t. station in berkeley. they are working to see if they got on a train. a man very familiar to north bay police is in jail accused of choking a young boy. police arrested 49-year-old eric wayne conroy thursday and as cornell bernard found out, cop

conroy has had nearly 100 run ins with the law. >> neighbors sounding off about an incident that happened at walnut park on thursday. two teenage boys were sitting on a bench when they were approached by the 49-year-old. police say the suspect approached the teens from behind and started choking one of the boys with a canvas strap. >> police placed it around one of the 14-year-old necks and tried to left him up. he was able to struggle and free himself. >> the attack, unprovoked, the teen was not hurt and calleded 911. police arrested conroy, who's a known transient in town. this was his 19th arrest in four years. mostly for drug charges and disorderly conduct. police have tried to help. >> he's been provided various resources throughout the years. >> it's kind of scary because we feel safe here. >> many parents on alert. the park is a popular spot,

the trial date in kate steinly's murder case could be set next friday, but there are questions about a potential witness in the case.

melanie wood rowrow has the update. >> man charged with the murder said he found a gun wrapped in a t-shirt under a bench at pier 14. the bullet ricochet ted off the pavement and hit the woman. it was stolen from a policeman's vehicle when he was off duty. it was not cloer clear how it got to pier 14. they say they want the to ask him about the gun when the trial begins. they say the dlm is telling them the federal agent is not subject to a state criminal court subpoena. >> there's a certain of degree of arrogantsy. which i have to ask you, do taxpayers want a federal agency to be working to try to stop us from calling a witness or not providing us with information. >> he knows about the condition with can which the weapon was stored, the history of the weapon. >> in a letter, the u.s. department of interior outlined

its regulations relating to subpoenas. the blm is a bureau of that department. >> there is a process where by we ask permission to call him as a witness and the agency would decide whether or not they want to abide by it. >> a spoke person did not offer a position on the issue. >> in this case is is in court and those issues will be hashed out in court. >> lopez sanchez' trial date could be set as early as next friday. abc 7 news. the alameda county sheriff's office will soon become the first on the west coast to offer life saving protection from certain deadly drugs to its canine officers. abc 7 was at the canine facility as they gave the dogs narcan. it can quickly reverse the effects of deadly drugs.

officers say the dogs run into them on calls almost daily now. >> it may get it in their nose or walk through it and lick them. some of these drugs are very concentrated. >> the training on how to administer narcan should take about a week and alameda county is making a video to show departments how to do it. it cost b about $75 per kit. the group cover your canine is raising money at 60 locations across the state this weekend to help by kits for other departments. this year marks a special anniversary for an organization that's a part of san francisco while inspiring people to be artistic. chris has spent 40 years using the mission district as its canvas and since 1977, neighbors have asked the organization to lead every day people to create murals that speak for a diverse community. >> it amazes me that we continue to do this after 40 years,

the hawaiian judge said that grandparents are the epitome of close family members and should be allowed to enter. jeff sessions says the administration will ask the u.s. supreme court to void the judge's ruling. senators will vote on the republican health care bill next week. president trump praised the plan in his weekly address and says the senate health care bill will give americans already options and lower costs. >> when i ran for president, i made a commitment to the american people to repeal and replace obamacare. i am pleased to report we are very, very close to ending this health care nightmare. we are so close. >> the republican health care plan limits federal spending on medicaid. the newest version of the bill changes how much money states will get. democrats say it favors louisiana, montana and alaska, which are all republican dominated states.

happening today, representative jackie spear will host a town hall meeting on health care. the event begins at noon in pacifica. she will discuss how federal and state bills impact health care coverage. she says tens f millions of people could lose their insurance under the gop health care bill. this is part of an ongoing series of town hall meeting that she has held since the presidential election. a bridal chain that declared bankruptcy is promising to do what it can to make sure brides get their dresses, but some of those brides were at stores yelling to be let in. lindsey janice has the story. >> we want our dresses! >> brides to be b across the country panicking after alfred angelo suddenly closing. these women trying to get the dresses they say they ordered and paid for. some brides worrying about the
