overnight right near the fairgrounds. firefighters told us there were about five firefighters all within a one-mile radius of the fairgrounds. mainly grass and brush, but also a few trees. they have eliminated natural causes. they're now looking for whoever i'll let you know as soon as we get any updates. reggie. >> thanks. >> an entire california town is under an evacuation ordered this morning. a wildfire near yosemite national park has exploded in size and forced governor brown to declare a state of emergency. it's burning near mere aposa and has spread to more than 25,000 acres. it's just 5% contained. eight structures have already been destroyed. another 1500 are threatened. reporter natalie grounda from our sister station in fresno has that story. >> air crews re attacking the flames from above as more fire crews from around the state are

coming in to help battle the fire. >> when you add in the fact we're in the foothills, when you add in slopes and grades and the temperatures we're dealing with, the humidity we're dealing with, it's a full on challenge. >> the fire has prompted road closures. we drove through the portion of the highway where crews were working to control the flames. >> i don't think we can emphasize enough how active erratic this fire is. >> hundreds of fire personnel and air support crews are working quick. the line of fire is moving fast. greg says he saw the fire come through the hill in front of his home and is ready to go if the flames move closer. >> all our vehicles are lined up right here ready to pull out. >> pg&e officials say more than 10,000 people are without power. and at least 100 power poles have been damaged by the fire. many of those power lines being

threatened do service yosemite national park. pg&e says that several people are here to assist with this emergency. however, they can't go in and assess any of the damage yet. it's still too dangerous as far as the cause of the fire, that's still under investigation. in mariposa county, abc 7 news. >> crews are expecting full containment by tonight of the eden fire in saratoga. two fire engines remained at the scene overnight to monitor hot spots. at last check, the fire was 75% contained and held at burned. santa clara county fire says it discovered a drone suspected of grounding a calfire chopper. flying drones over fires is illegal and the operator could face charges. >> 16 1/2 hours. that's how long it took to reopen a section of road in danville following a deadly crash that happened on stone valley road at 10:35 a.m. yesterday morning. a 69-year-old hit into a utility pole. no other cars were involved.

in addition to the police investigation, pg&e crews had to repair the pole. that section of stone valley road just reopened at 3:00 a.m. >> this morning, the family of a missing san mateo county man is going to be leading another search in montara. richard moss disappeared after leaving for work on may 25th. it's believed his car left the road and plunged into the ocean near montara state beach. on thursday, drivers found piece of a car including this wheel here. moss' family plans to stage weekly protests to fight for a better guard rail. >> two thieves land in jail after pulling off a brazen burglary at a verizon store. the two men cut a hole in the roof of the store on stevens creek boulevard on monday morning. investigators say the two men stole nearly $140,000 worth of phones, tablets, and apple products. >> they were able to disable the

surveillance system, disable the alarm, so definitely some prior knowledge, some planning. that will be part of the investigation to look at their history and see where they came from. >> well, they didn't get very far. sheriff's deputies found them pulled off the side of the road in san jose. they spotted the stolen apple devices all over their back seat. one is held in county jail and one is released after posting bail. >> oakland police are releasing new information on three cold case murders. police say this silver dodge durango is the suspect's vehicle in the homicides of lee weathers' bury and two others. weathersby was shot, and then his brother was riding in a car with harris when they were both shot and killed. investigators want to talk to anyone who has info on the suspect's vehicle or who may have witnessed the shootings. a $30,000 reward is being offered. >> we're learning more about the

kidnapping of a baby in san francisco. a source familiar with the investigation says the baby's father was arrested on child endangerment charges. the baby was reunited with her mom shortly after police arrested a woman for kidnapping on sunday. we have learned the woman was in a car with the baby and her father right before the kidnapping. the father had picked up that woman nearby. when he got back into the car, they were gone. police found the woman with a baby on a muni bus. the san francisco district attorney's office has not formally charged either the woman or father, and both are still in custody. >> new details this morning on san francisco's millennium tower. it's still sinking and tilting. there could be a fix. according to sfgate.com, a couple engineering firms suggest drilling 50 to 100 new piles down to bedrock from the building's basement to stabilize it and prop the building back upright. the price tag, $100 million to

$150 million. resident will be able to stay during repairs. the luxury high rise has dropped 17 inches. you put a ball on the floor and it rolls. it's tilted 14 inches since construction began in 2005. >> the santa clara county water valley district is hoping to purchase more than 12,000 acres of ranch land to build a new reservoir in the south bay. the water district wants to construct the $800 million reservoir right along highway 152 between gilroy and the san luis reservoir. the property is known as el toro ranch, which is for sale for $21 million. the reservoir would hold 130,000 acres of water. >> hi there, everyone. temperatures finally coming into play where they should be for this time of year. as we look at live doppler 7, you'll notice we have fog along the san mateo coast. it's also spreading around hayward and in parts of the south bay. just patchy up in the north bay.

the wind component today will warm us up just a few degrees. right now, 60 in concord. 58 in oakland and mountain view and san jose. as we look at the forecast, you'll notice we have upper 80s by the delta. 77 in richmond. 87 in santa rosa. nearly the same in san jose. low 80s. tomorrow, even a few degrees cooler should feel good. but if you like the warmth, by friday, it's coming back. this is the trend, it looks like it will continue to warm up over the weekend. i'll have a full look at your seven-day forecast in a moment, but the low clouds and fog coming back tonight, and they'll once again be patchy along the coast. we'll check out the full forecast in a few minutes. first, alexis has a look at your morning ride. good morning. >> good morning, lisa. looking at flashing lights behind me on the san mateo bridge. westbound 92, just past the toll plaza, not sure what this is. we don't have any information from chp at the moment. not sure, that could be a

was a bride-to-be. state investigators say a police officer told authority he was startled by a loud noise near their cruiser moments before his partner fired his weapon saturday night. the officer who was driving the car says 40-year-old justine damond approached the driver's side window of the patrol car. they gave her immediate medical attention. she had called 911 to report a possible sexual assault in an alley near her home. >> one of tw two kuzens charged in the deaths of four young men in rural pennsylvania also claimed to have killed two people in philadelphia. cosmo dinardo is under arrest there after he and his cousin confessed to luring four victims to a farm where they killed them and buried their bodies. detectives are waiting to question dinardo on his claim about the other two deaths. new this morning, nearly two

dozen house democrats asking the fbi to review ivanka trump's security clearance as a presidential adviser. the lawmakers suggesting ivanka's sf-86 form, like her husband jared's, may not have properly listed his meeting with the russian ambassador kislyak and the couple's other foreign contacts. it just means they're calling for a review. ultimately, the authority to grant or revoke security clearance does come from her father, the president. so this is strictly a political move. no response yet from the white house this morning. back to you. >> jess, thank you. after the latest humiliating health care bill collapse in the senate, president trump says it's probably time to just, quote, let obamacare fail. janay norman has more on the president's last-ditch effort to revise his party's efforts. >> republicans promised to repeal and replace the affordable care act, but the president's top legislative priority that barely made it out

of the house alive is now dead in the senate with a group of republicans pulling the plug. >> i'm certainly disappointed. for seven years, i have been hearing repeal and replace from congress, and i have been hearing it loud and strong. when we finally get a chance to repeal and replace, they don't take advantage of it. >> it was a staple on president trump's campaign. >> we're going to repeal and replace obamacare. >> vowing to repeal and replace. but in the face of a legislative failure, senate majority leader mitch mcconnell plans to hold a vote early next week on a repeal only bill, a bill that appears dead on arrival as three republican senators have said they will vote against it. >> we'll let obamacare fail and then the democrats will come to us and say how do we fix it? >> we're going to vote to repeal it, i think. >> republicans voted more than 60 times to repeal all or part of obamacare. but that was when president obama was in the white house and had veto power to stop it. now, with trump at the helm,

fog. >> did. don't you think it's appropriate for july. we're back in the pattern with the morning fog clearing to the coast and then looking at it this evening for the next few days. it's not going to stop us from warming up today. it's patchy. we're looking at more of a northerly gradient today. that means less in the way of fog in the north bay for the morning hours. 53 in the city, with low 50s in gilroy. 55 in half moon bay. looking at the fog here, you can kind of see it in the distance. we'll talk about more 50s from the north bay. about 6-mile visibility. not much of an issue, even along the coast. livermore, good morning, 56 degrees. your highlights, the fog along the coast and around the bay. near average temperatures. it will be getting hot this weekend, but today, plan on low 80s in the south bay. a little warmer. upper 70s, redwood city, 67, afternoon sunshine in the north bay. 83, petaluma. east bay looking at about 80 today. around alameda, 89. in pittsburg and livermore in

the accuweather seven-day forecast, featuring a slow warm-up just in time for the weekend. mainly inland, but then by saturday and sunday, we're in the upper 90s. it could be a little toasty there. alexis. >> good morning, lisa. we're starting off pretty quiet on the roads. we don't have any major issues right now. the bay bridge toll plaza looking quite empty at the moment. we should have metering lights on in about 25 minutes. tracy to dublin, up to 38 minutes. i did mention we had a wrong-way driver on the eastbound side of the road. that's cleared from the board. hopefully that means all is well and that person exited the freeway and we did not hear about any incidents caused with the situation. southbound 680, you're in the green at 16 minutes. and between 101 and cupertino, 17 minutes. we do have one new issue in the south bay. >> here's a question. what can't aishyesha curry do? appare apparently, she's now able to play baseball.

a new airline about to take off from san jose's airport. we were at minetty airport as frontier announced new services there. they will operate nonstop flights to denver and las vegas. they're going to eventually add service to austin and san antonio. that should happen in the spring. the airline is offering introductory affairs as low as $29 each way. san jose city leaders welcome the airline. >> this is another recognition that -- of the importance that silicon valley has become to the region and to businesses. and so we're excited and delighted. >> san jose is among the 21 cities frontier is going to add to its routes by the spring. >> google is trying to protect you from being phished. new security protections for anyone who uses the apps. google will have a warning screen pop up any time an unverified web app wants you to enter your info. the new security protections will start out on brand-new apps

and then eventually roll out to all google web apps. >> nike is giving us a first along at the new golden state warriors jerseys. >> the logo itself is the same, but you can see the swoosh and thinner shoulders there. also has different material, and nike claims that should improve performance even more. nike is taking over from adidas as the nba's official provider. they used 3d body maps to come up with the fit and construction of these new uniforms. good morning. we're starting out with patchy fog. it's mainly along the san mateo coast. and we'll see a little bit across the golden gate bridge. it's 60 right now as you're heading out the door over in conco concord. 58 in oakland, 56 in fremont, and the fog is going to hang out along the shoreline. you notice by about 10:00, 11:00, it's still there. partly cloudy at the coast. we have games on both sides of the bay today in oakland, upper 60s to low 70s for an afternoon

game. and in san francisco, a little cooler. we'll see numbers in the mid 60s there. alexis. >> going to look at the traffic maps here. we have one new issue in the south bay. that's northbound 101 if you're traveling near yerba buena road, we have reports of a crash. don't believe it's a major blocking issue. but emergency crews are on the way to the scene. sounds like a solo vehicle collision where someone lost control and hit the guardrail. we have that disabled box truck, we were trying to figure out what the situation is. looks like they're driving off now with a little assistance from caltrans or chp. that should be totally clear soon. we briefly had the right lane blocked. no backup at this early hour. we'll look at drive times at 5:00. >> thank you. researchers at cal have come up with a test to determine if infections are in fact from the zika virus. it could be confused for other infections. this new test was almost 96% accurate in detecting the zika
