evacuation orders as the fire continues to spread. we have a look at some of the devastation. >> not only out buildings but residents have been completely destroyed. we have views in the area surveying the area and mopping up any hot spots. >> reporter: the fire has blackened more than 70 acres and some areas is just burned the grass and brush. in other areas completely destroyed everything. >> we're seeing extreme fire conditions. you can see not only with the brush but the homes.

a link there for you. weather conditions are not helping now. only 17% and we have wind gusting to 16 miles an hour which is blowing smoke over wide area there. a diminish air quality. wind gusts over the next 24 hours show weakening of wind during the overnight to about 5 miles an hour or so in the early morning. winds will strengthen again in the afternoon hours. look at the satellite image. you can see the smoke traveling pnorth ward from the fire. as a result of that air quality alert is in effect for a wide area from south of bakersfield up to south lake tahoe. we'll monitor conditions as they develop.

let's look at a fire that broke out this morning opinion firefighters tell us no one was hurt but one person went to the hospital after an altercation at the scene. at least seven people were driven from their homes. arson investigators are looking for what sparked this morning's fire. sheriff's deputies say the father shot to death yesterday while pushing his 3-month-old baby was trying to turn his life around. investigators believe 29-year-old hayward was the shooter's intended target. the suspect escaped. the shooting occurred on willow. three officers will not be facing any charges. abc 7 news reporter live with dramatic dash cam video just

released. >> reporter: you're about to see this stand off back in april lasted over five minutes opinion officers giving the suspect more than 60 commands to drop his gun. residents say those commands were so loud at times they heard them over the highway's sound wall. he held a gun on busy highway 101 northbound near highway 92. >> he had been dripging heavily and using methamphetamine heavily. he was acting like a meth freak. >> reporter: moments earlier he rear ended her and demanded her vehicle. he complied and calmed 911. >> this is the victim walking southbound on the shoulder. >> reporter: three officers responded ordering him to drop the gun more than 60 times.
