the heart of the warriors now caught in a legal battle. draymond green facing a lawsuit for an alleged incident outside a bar in his home state of michigan. thanks for joining us. i'm jessica castro. kristen is off today. warriors superstar draymond green is known for his aggressive play on the court this. lawsuit alleges he's been violent off the court. abc 7 news reporter carolyn tyler joins us from the newsroom with details. >> reporter: well, jessica, this is the law south, and it begins with the sentence draymond green is a bully and describes the nba star as someone with an anger management problem on and off the basketball court.

this morning the former mish football player is assault, jermaine green said he slapped him and also choked green's girlfriend. green was arrested and accepted a criminal key and reduced the charge to a noise infraction and edmundson and williams claim they were haunted by the run-in. he described the ordeal this morning during a news conference at his attorney's office. >> i told him last night that it didn't have to happen and it wasn't cool that bianca got choked. his response was to punch me in the face without any warning or any reason. >> draymond green's refusal to acknowledge the true facts and

simply apologize like a man has caused my clients to be attacked and demeaned. >> reporter: well, green tells our sister network espn he is not concerned about the lawsuit and is confident things will be resolved soon. the warriors released a statement responding to the lawsuit saying, quote, this threatened lawsuit relates to an incident that occurred in east lancing, michigan over a year ago for which draymond paid a noise violation fine. the warriors will have no further comment at this time. the lawsuit filed against draymond green does not specify damages. in the newsroom, carolyn tyler, abc 7 news. >> carolyn, thank you. this midday new details on the case of a 16-day-old baby left abandoned at a shopping center parking lot in the north bay. the child's father is now under arrest after a surveillance video captured him leaving the scene. abc 7 news reporter amy

hollyfield spoke to a man who watched the whole thing unfold and joins us live from suisun city. amy? >> reporter: jessica, emotions are really starting to hit who found the baby yesterday. they are still thinking about him today, especially since police now tell us his medical condition has changed. they are putting the baby now in critical but stable condition. those who found him feel a bit attached and want to know how he's doing. wendall cooper is still thinking about the baby he found abandoned in front of his suisun city barber shop yesterday afternoon. police now say tests at the hospital have revealed the 16-day-old boy has a medical condition and is knit call but stable condition. cooper is worried more now than he was when he found him. >> hit me more when i seen they took the baby to another hospital. he's in critical condition, so it bothers me more today >> reporter: police say they have arrested the baby's father, 18-year-old daniel mitchell of fairfield. they believe he is the man seen on surveillance video leaving

the car seat in the parking lot at 3:00 yesterday afternoon. when the barber shop employees first saw the car seat, they wanted to believe it was an accident. >> and we brought it inside and waited probably ten minutes because we were like maybe they will come back. we thought maybe they forgot the baby and then we went next door and watched the video and we seen that the guy pulled up and set him on the ground. >> reporter: now he's anxious for an update. i do want to know how he's doing. like i said, he looked in good health. >> cooper has pictures of the baby on his phone and he says he plans to keep them saying maybe the boy will come back one day and he can show him the photos. >> i'll keep it. my meet him when he gets a little older, gets a haircut because he'll need one. he had a lot of hair to be 16 days, he had a lot of hair, so hopefully we meet him when he's 1, 2 years old. >> reporter: i checked with the fire cheer in sues one city.

he says his station is a safe surrender spot. you can leave a baby at a safe surrender fire station if you don't any longer want to care for the baby, no questions asked. the chief says he would have been happy to have cared for this little boy. in the suisun city, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. >> amy, thank you. new this morning, the family of a 19-year-old football player killed in san jose hopes money will motivate someone to come forward with information. there is still no suspect in the teen's sudden death, so now they are offering a reward. abc 7 news reporter matt keller has details on how you can help. matt? >> reporter: jessica, this is an unsolved murder. no arrests yet. the grandfather who helped raise him just spoke to us inside this san jose church, and he gave an emotional plea to the public to help him find the killer. >> it still hurts, and it's going to hurt the rest of my life. he was loved by everybody.

>> reporter: that's carlos who is a grandfather of joseph viramontes who was found at an elementary school in san jose on march 25th. he was shot to death. no arrests have been made. police say it's an open investigation. he was a student and worked as a dishwasher at local hospital and played football for the 49ers until he was 16 and his grandfather putting up a $5,000 award hoping it will lead to the arrest of the person responsible for the murder of his son. >> i want to know before i die who did this. >> whoever did this, please come forward. that's all i ask. >> reporter: san jose police told me the reward is a personal choice made by the grandfather and we hope that this will convince someone to come forward with additional information that will assist investigators in solving this case. if you have any information, call sap jose police or crime stoppers. reporting live in san jose, matt

this afternoon in case he's needed to break a tie. megan hughes, abc news, capitol hill. new this morning, san francisco police are asking for the public's help to identify two persons of interest in the shooting death of a man in the city's marina district. that victim is 32-year-old kelly freeman who was found shot on alhambra street on may 20th. freeman was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, and now police want to find these two men you see here. surveillance cameras captured these images of them near the scene. one was wearing a maroon or purple hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark tennis shoe and the other had dark pants, a black jacket and white and gray air 13 jordan basketball shoes. if you have any information, call san francisco police. a bay-area teacher is under arrest, accused of sexually abusing a young student. palo alto police say 35-year-old john patrick root of san francisco had abused the 15-year-old at several locations

around town for -- over the past several months. the two met at the school of rock on middlefield road in palo alto where root worked as a part-time music teacher. detectives are working with the school to see if there are any other victims. happening now. governor jerry brown and former governor arnold schwarzenegger are joining forces, at least for one day only. the current and former governor are making a joint appearance at treasure island to sign the landmark climate bill that extends the cap and trade program. the bill passed the state assembly last week and the program sets a cap for companies like factories and refineries on greenhouse gas emissions. abc 7 news reporter leslie brinkley is at today's bill-signing and will have much more on "abc 7 news at 5:00" and 6:00. and the other big story this morning, baby charlie. terminally ill little fwhoi london, his parents back in court this morning asking for one last wish as they spend their final moments with their

new developments today in the case of the sick british child capturing worldwide attention. charlie gard suffers from a rare genetic condition and yesterday his parents gave up their bid to try to get their son to the u.s. for an experimental treatment. well, today, lawmakers for the parents were back in court asking for permission to take their son home so that he can die there. the parents say the hospital is putting ops calls in their way. the hospital meanwhile wants to resolve the issue through a mediator. the judge said today he will make a ruling, if needed, but would really like both sides to reach a mutual agreement. a family emergency led to the cancellation of another concert in the south bay tonight. hall & oates and tiers for fears will not be performing at san jose's s.a.p. center. the bands are working on rescheduling so hold on to your tickets but if you do want your money back the concert promoters
