closed. park officials say they will work closely with state regulators. a similar ride left off the list is lasso of truth because it was made by a different manufacturer. the accident left many skeptical. >> i won't go on it. i don't think i would let hi myn go on it now. >> reporter: the boardwalk says it's in wait and see pattern. they are waiting to hear from the state if they will bring in their own inspector to do the maintenance ride or if the state is going to actually allow the boardwalk staff here work on its ride and whatever they recommended. sgr wh specifically are they going to look for here? >> reporter: they haven't told us the specifics. right now cal osha is waiting to

hear from the manufacturer to see what went wrong with the ride. the boardwalk staff does tell me they do daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual inspections on their rides here. larry. >> all right. thank you. >> in addition to the three morn california rides, similar rides have been shut down. achi child was drown off th emerald plunge. the investigation into that continues. there's four other water slides at the park that are open. a napa county couple were sentenced to life in prison for the murder and torture of a 3-year-old girl. they were convicted of the me s murder of her daughter in may.

it will be quite foggy on the coast and quite a bit of fog will have pushed across the bay as well. we expect it to burn back to the coastline by midday and we'll have another day much like today. another warm one. i'll show you how long this warmth will last a little bit later. >> thank you. repairs continue on the orville dam following the failure of the emergency spillway back in february. workers are reducing lake levels so there's enough flood. that way they have room for the water and construction. the first construction phase is expected to be finished by november. meanwhile uc berkeley group is raising concerns about a green spot on the dam. professor robert bee sent us these photos. he believe it would lead to a failure of the dam. it's caused by rain or natural spring. bee disagrees and says the dwr

the woman that was driving this vehicle, her husband tells me that she's okay. as i step out the way you can see pg&e is on the scene because of these live wires down and this power line that came down in this accident on pleasant hill road. the section of road here at the walnut creek. live wires and sparking that happened here late this afternoon. we talked to some people. the dog is even okay. this was quite a bit of commotion here. there's a shopping center over here. we talked to one woman about what she heard prompting her to come outside. >> i was actually inside my store. i work right there and heard a big bang. like a crash and our lights flickered on and off. that was it.

this marks the first stage of a multi-year project to rid lake tahoe of those nonnative plants. they have taken over some of the manmade water ways in the tahoe keys area. a very lucky puppy had her official welcome to the bay area. last week we told you about mika. while still a puppy she was stabbed in the face and lost an eye. her chance for adoption seemed slim until a bay area residents posted her story on the internet leading to a cross country adoption. today kiot radio hosted a welcome party for mika and her adoptive mom. she's already adapting to her new home. >> signed the adoption papers just to get her on the airplane without -- with the intention of keeping her but also not knowing how we would adjust.

beach. lots of folks out there enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. these are our forecast features. we'll see thiscontinuing. the heat will increase in our inland areas. the warmth we're experiencing right now and continue to experience into early next week will hold on into august. august starts next week, doesn't it? there you go. overnight look for fog reaching just beyond the coastline out over the bay. low temperatures will be mild again. upper 50s to low 60s in some spots. ocean temperature only 57 degrees. we're used to that with the pacific waters being cool. let's look at some inland highs tomorrow. we expect 9 h at fair field, concord and livermore.

right around the bay a low to mid or upper 70s for the most part. as we look ahead to friday afternoon, we've already shown you the gets even warmer on sunday as highs start to creep up into the upper 90s in many locations and bovr 100 in cloverdale and clear lake. then we get stuck in a very warm pattern through most of next week. low 80s around the bay. it's not kpktly heat wave but the inland areas are just going to get scorched after so many consecutive days of near 100 degrees weather. >> thanks, spencer.
