50s and 60s by 7:00. the sun coming up in about ten minutes. 70s and 80s. coastal clouds by noon. the warmup continues inland with mid-90s there. we'll talk about how much waerm it's going to get. tropical moisture on the way as well. kate? >> thanks, lisa. a 68-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly dealing drugs out of his senior citizens home. the drugs are about as hard as you can get. reporter leslie brinkley spoke with a neighbor who saw the dealer operate out of her building for two years. >> reporter: the dealer? a 68-year-old man who lived in this senior housing complex in the piedmont area of oakland. the customers? young women in their teens and 20s. this woman says she saw it all unfold night after night from a window looking down on the circle drive.

>> hand over small packets of drugs to people get money. car drives away and then 15, 20 minutes later another car comes through. so continual traffic coming through here buying drugs from him. >> like drive-through drugs. >> drive-through drugs. >> this disabled senior complained to buildig management. >> the company called satellite affordable housing associates. we went by their berkeley office but they were closed and no one answered the phone. we were told they couldn't do anything about it. to talk to the police. >> residents alerted police and according to the east bay times, authorities arrested the 68-year-old man in late june and found what appeared to be cocaine, black tar heroin and marijuana inside his car and inside his senior apartment. the paper reports court records show he's a 14-time felon and pleaded not guilty. >> i was appalled that this could happen where i live and to see this man doing this under our nose and think that he could get away with this.

>> reporter: she claims there was only one disabled parking shot in front of their building and that this man, this dealer parked their every day within the end a falsified placard. residents are relieved he was arrested and now has moved out. in the newsroom, i'm leslie brinkley. abc 7 news. a bicyclist is dead after being hit by a vta light rail train in san jose. the accident happened at 4:30 yesterday afternoon near the light rail station along the winchester line. train services stopped for several hours after the accident. sheriffs are still investigating. milpitas police are investigating the death of a man as a homicide. the man's body was found in the parking lot of a business early yesterday morning on windsor street. police haven't revealed how the milpitas resident died but it is suspicious. residents are asked to contact officers with any information they have about the man's death. a man is in the hospital after being shot in the neck

during a robbery at the berkeley marina. the victim nearly drove into the bay after the shooting which happened near the municipal pier at 3:30 yesterday morning. police arrested a person of interest on unrelated charges. the car was towed away where the roads by cesar chavez park near where kite festival is happening. were closed for several hours. we're learning new details about the nation's first large-scale public housing transformation project. it's called hope sf. it's in hunters view later on this year. this is just the first phase of the project. hope sf will renovate a total of 2500 units into sustainable and energy efficient homes without displacing the residents who live there. they're in hunters view, alice griffith, and sunnydale. at all sites, they should be complete by 2027. affordable housing for rent and to own will also be built three years after the public housing project is complete.

now to developing news overseas. australian police confirmed that stopped an islamic conspired plot to bring down airplanes. authorities carried out major raids across sydney. abc news reporter brad milky reports. >> australians woke up to police conducting raids in five locations around sydney. >> there has been a major joint counter terrorism operation to disrupt a terrorism plot to bring down an airplane. some people were planning to commit a terrorism plot using a device. >> four man have been arrested a tv station reported that 40 riot officers wearing gas masks stormed a house before an explosives team found a suspicious device. >> people out back and people screaming and yelling at each other. guys with masks on. >> officials did not release specifics on the time and location of the alleged plot but -- >> we believe it's islamic-inspired terrorism.

>> this is the first time he's meeting the men who saved him face to face. before there were words, there were hugs. >> true believer. god gave me second chance. i don't remember. but you guys were there. >> on july 4th. silva was at lake tahoe and went for an early morning swim alone. suddenly, he was struggling. the cold water overtook him. he started drowning. these two men were paddle boarding nearby. >> i ripped off my sweatshirt and dove in because he was't coming back up. luckily, i got underneath him, pushed off the bottom of the sand and pushed him up. colby was waiting. >> colby got silva on to his board and pushed him to the board and pushed him to the shore where retired e.r. nurse john burke happened to be on the beach. >> as soon as they hit the sand, i flipped him over, checked pulse, respirations, nothing, flat line. so i started cpr.

went for five, eight, minutes. silva started breathing but stayed in a coma for two days after he started breathing. >> the earthquakes honored the heroes with a ceremonial pregame first goal. >> silva is known on the field with the earthquakes this season. he's currently on loan with an affiliate in reno. that's also why he was in lake tahoe on the fourth of july. the team was planning a barbecue that day. he's returning to reno to continue his rehab. >> i'm really happy that he is alive and that we were able to help. >> in san jose, lisa a gulezian, abc 7 news. a state-of-the-art fire station is open for business to serve residents of central alameda county. abc 7 news was in cherry land where local leaders, firefighters and residents came to celebrate the grand opening of station number 23. the 11,000 square foot facility replaces an older firehouse built in the 1940s.

>> quarters were cramped, it was small and challenging for the firefighters to be there. they stuck it out and served valiantly in that station. the new firehouse should also improve response times for the cherryland community. a cancer survivor finished a 1200-mile bike race to san francisco, to raise awareness abo. bob, the guy in the orange jacket tooted his horn as he and his support group finished the ride near chris i field. he's a leukemia survivor which he beat thanks to a bone marrow transplant eight years ago. beside advocating for more donors, he rides to give hope. to patients. >> also to create awareness for patients that are going through the process right now that you can get through this and you can have a full, active, healthy life afterwards. >> bob is also riding as part of life blood. an organization that raises

money for bone marrow research. one of the greatest voices to ever call a baseball, basketball or football game is now in cooperstown. the bay area's bill king has been inducted into the baseball hall of fame. >> now the pitch. swung on, there's a high drive. it's way back, in center field, that one is gone and it's a victory for the oakland athletics. holy toledo! >> there it is. holy toledo became his signature call. he was a radio icon and also had a temper according to his stepdaughter. >> ended up announcing championship games for the warriors, the raiders an the oakland a's. but he is also the only announcer to ever receive a technical foul in basketball. >> bill king became the 41st baseball announcer to be inducted into the hall of fame.

into play all week long and any advisories that we have to pass along to you as well. kate? >> thanks, lisa. we're going to switch gears and go to developing news out of germany this morning. police say there was a shooting at a nightclub. two people were killed, including the gunman and four others wounded. this happened in constance in the south part of the country. the gunman opened fire inside a club this morning. he was shot and killed by police. an officer was injured in the shooting. but fortunately he's recovering. investigators say the motive for the shooting is still unclear. now to north korea, the latest ballistic missile launch. it traveled higher, farther and longer than earlier attempts. the missile carries a dangerous message for the u.s. abc's gloria riviera has more. >> reporter: blast-off in the dead of night. these new images show north korea's latest and most alarmingly successful missile launch. >> we think that the missiles could reach the center of the united states, los angeles,

chicago, maybe even as far as new york and washington. >> north korea claims it can now make a surprise launch at any time in anyplace. proving the whole u.s. mainland is in the firing range. this latest missile shot 2300 miles into space, landing in the sea of japan. but north korea can angle that stra georgia tech tri to -- dramatically. >> whether north korea can successfully arm it with a nuclear missile. >> revised u.s. defense intelligence estimates say that the north koreans could have a nuclear missile capable warhead within a year. >> after the president conferred with his national security team, the white house released a statement warning the united states will take all necessary steps to ensure the security of the american homeland and protect our allies in the region. already the u.s. and south korea conducted military exercises near north korea.

with diplomatic negotiations stalled since 2009, further options are limited. any military action could prompt a catastrophic response from north korea. an acute concern with some 82,000 u.s. troops in the region. gloria riviera, washington. a ship from finland completed the earliest crossing of the northwest passage. that's not necessarily a good thing. crew members of the ship were happy to get off the ship shaving a day off the previous record. they traveled more than 6200 miles from vancouver to greenland. the reason they made it faster is the disturbing part. there's less ice, a result of global warming. scientists believe the passage will be free of ice by 2050. this morning, there's a special caution for moms online. a warrant is out for one woman's arrest. after an apparent scam taking people for a very expensive

ride. erielle reshef has the story. >> cleveland police are investigating a facebook scam after hundreds of moms claimed they were conned out of more than $200,000. >> i put my trust in her and she is an ultimate scammer. >> the woman behind a facebook site claiming to be the purveyor of discounted baby products facing felony charges. an investigator familiar with the case telling abc news some women maxed out their credit cards. that official saying the 23-year-old would bait them by shipping car seats, then offer moms smaller ticket items like diapers and not deliver. mom, laura from texas shelled out more than a thousand bucks for a deal. >> she made it so believable. because when you got added on, you did get things and then all of a sudden it stopped. only to discover she was duped. >> i was so mad. >> she blamed delays on delivery companies.

the facebook group deactivated: we reached out. no response so far but a warrant for her arrest. >> the moms paid through several different vendors but so far no luck on getting any of their money back. authorities tell me there could be many more victims. er yell resch he have, abc news, new york. you may be surprised it took this long. honolulu is the fourth city to make it illegal to cross the street while looking at a mobile electronic device like your cell phone. it's called the distracted walking law. no more texting, talking or playing games. now you must actually pay attention to where you're walking. honolulu officials say it's needed because so many people are getting hit. police have to see someone using the device before making an arrest. new video is giving us a different vantage point of the fiery plane crash on the 405 freeway near john wayne airport.

this is in orange county. this small plane burst into a fireball after crashing on the busy freeway. another view taken from the airport shows a black plume of smok the pilot of this survived the crash after being pulled from the wreckage by an off-duty fire captain. the ntsb says the plane suddenly lost power in its right engine moments after take-off. an air national guard tanker accidently dropped a load of fire retardant on cars in fresno. cal fire confirmed the drop but they didn't say why. it was 5:30 yesterday evening when retardant rained down on cars in the shopping center. the tanker was headed to a wildfire but someone hit the wrong button. a similar accident happened in windsor on thursday. a cal fire tanker accidentally painted a neighborhood pink with it. a team of volunteers in oakland distributed a truckload of necessities to the homeless. abc 7 news was there watching

extent. it's not going to extend like it did this weekend from the coast to our inland valleys. it's not inconcord and livermore, the low clouds and stratus deck. you can see it from the distance. it's allowing for a cool start. we'll talk about lighter winds, a thicker fog deck, closer to the shoreline but that means it's going to evaporate sooner as well as high pressure pushes on the atmosphere. just a mile and a quarter in petaluma. 3/4 of a mile in sonoma. last hour, the delta winds were over 25 miles an hour. they've already backed off. that's another indicator of high pressure building in. a warmer day, sunshine sooner for all of you today. 55 in the city, 57 in oakland and san jose. 54 gilroy and half moon bay. what a bonus for the garlic festival with temperatures not too hot over the weekend. so looking at 59 in mountain view. one of the warmer locations. look how pretty this is.

happening today, the san francisco ballet is performing free in the city. it begins at 2:00 this afternoon. this is the company's only show in the bay area this summer. you should try to skach them. performers dance live to the san francisco ballet orchestra. members of the ballet will give a talk before the show at the stern grove clubhouse. that begins at noon. looks like a wonderful event. what's the weather going to be like at stern grove this afternoon? >> very limited sun there.
