that copa airlines flight just landed after a flight from panama city panama. the passenger who jumped was an american citizen just 17 years old. >> reporter: some exciting moments. flight 208 landed just before 3:00 but it took passengers up until a little while ago to get off the plane and clear customs. we have cell phone video taken from the ground moments after the commotion started. you can see where the door was removed over one of the wings. here is another look from a photo taken by a passenger inside of the cabin. you can see where the door was before it was removed. a shoot was not deployed. it seems that 737s are low enough to the ground and don't require them. according to witnesses the young man quickly and suddenly popped open the emergency door, slids down the plane's wing, hit the

ground and started running. >> there's a guy running down there. we alerted the stewardess. they told the pilot and the pilot stopped the plane. they put one them to block the gates so no one else would fall out or leave. we were on the runway for about an hour. >> the people next to him seemed pretty surprised when he jumped. i don't think he was giving too many warning signs that he was going to do that. >> reporter: this is video from sky 7. you can see the plane parked at gate 97. soon after the teenager jumped, airfields construction crew members stopped him. a lot of law enforcement responded to the situation immediately. you can see dogs searching the airfields where the teen landed. passengers also told me that a person sitting next to the boy who stayed on the plane was taken away by authorities. back here live now we do not know a motive at this hour but passengers who were seated near

him said boy seemed fidgety and very anxious throughout the flight. abc 7 news. >> thank you so much. a police chase and crash into a home in fremont. it may be connected to a string of burglaries. >> three today and one attempt. >> reporter: they pulled out couches and other items. this happened and police believe the suspects could be linked to other crimes in the area. >> the extent of the damage is overwhelming. >> reporter: they were at work when a neighbor called them with the shocking news. a car crashed into the front of their home. the three men inside the vehicle, burglary suspects who were trying the lose police when they lost control of the car. >> there's absolutely no excuse

for the high rate of speed in which these individuals were driving through our city. it's very scary. >> reporter: police say this started at 10:00 a.m. when officers were called to an attempted burglary on marlowe street. they chased the suspect half a mile where they hit a dead end in a cul-de-sac. the car went flying into the living room. sky 7 shows one of the suspects in handcuffs. detectives are investigating if these suspects are involved in several other recent burglaries. >> this could have ended tragically and we're really lucky nobody was many the house. >> reporter: it could have been a lot worse. his two children were safe at their summer school. >> we work from home regularly. today wasn't one of those days. if any of our parents visit us in summer, that's the room they stay in. >> reporter: he says they plan to stay with friends while they figure out repairs.

the sheriff just announced the man suspected of shooting two deputies this morning was found dead inside a home. it started with a call about an armed man pulling marijuana plants out at a rastafarian church. the deputies went to a nearby home and the owner gave them permission to check inside. the sheriff says the deputies initially didn't see the suspect but then he started shooting. the deputies were shot but able to return fire. they were air lifted to a hospital in roseville and are recovering. the suspect was later found inside that house where shots hat been fired. officials plooef he wbelieve he by the deputies. that's about 29 miles northeast of yuba city. wooern leae're learning the

have been over a stolen back back. fans are just starting to arrive. >> reporter: they sure are. the tailgating in full swing here at the coliseum parking lot. while these fans gear up for tonight's second installment, oakland police are investigating whether last night's fight was precipitated by something happened before those cell phone videos started rolling. >> reporter: it's not an uncommon sight. a fight in the stands at a professional sporting vent. what makes this unusual is it's between a fan and a female security guard. >> they were looking for someone or something. >> reporter: we talked by phone with one fan who watched it all unfold below him. >> it wasn't anything going on so they weren't stopping a fight or any altercation up there. it was a bit bizarre. it looked like she took first swing at this lady or person for no reason. >> reporter: the security guard

was an employee of a company called u.s. security associates which contracts with staff pro, the major is up lsupplier of se for the oakland a's for the past decade. we regret the actions of a rogue employee affected oakland fans in a negative way. the employee has been terminated and our event staff has received retraining on excellent customer relations. the fight may have started over the guard's stolen backpack. one she believed was in the possession of fan she confronted. >> i didn't see the whole thing. i only caught the end of it but it definitely looked a little involved. >> reporter: so far no word from oakland police on whether the guard or any of the fans could face criminal charges. a lot of people saw this black smoke above the skies in oakland. it turns out it was a fire at a

homeless encampment. a three tents and car were damaged. the area is just a few blocks from two fires at homeless encampments last week. one was started by someone cooking. the other from a suspected arsonist. a mother will be in court tomorrow arrested after she and her baby were found asleep in a hot car. the baby was panting in 90 degrees heat. the chp saezys a tow truck truck her on the shoulder of highway 17 in san jose south of 280. the baby is okay. rolling faces charges of child endangerment and driving under the influence. bottled water is out at five cooling stations in san jose. they are open until 9:00 p.m. p.

targeted. wayne friedman is live with more. >> reporter: after four heists at four stores in three months we did see increased security inside and outside this store. we reached out to the company hoping for a comment. costco never got back to us. they were not talking. some employees did speak with us unfshlly. they told us as this went down there was nothing they could do according to company policy. how often have you seen surveillance video like this, a smash, a grab. it's a shocker because this happened in a novato store that almost everyone knows. >> i don't know. i just don't think of something like that happening at costco. >> reporter: costco has. employees say they were warned of similar innocents in other stores that when this one came down, all they could do was watch and call

>> i would describe it as being pretty bold. >> reporter: in looking over the video, police lieutenant did not see the work of amateurs. quite the opposite. suspects wearing masks and hoodies entered through the exit. they went directly to the jewelry section. took a few seconds to decide what they wanted. they broke the dplasz wiglass wr and escaped in a car with paper license laeplates. >> these people had a plan. >> reporter: a plan they may have executed before. this could be the same group on april 20th. there's been similar crimes at other costcos. it happened on may 8th in danville. and the same store on may 19th and once more on june 22nd. at least twice the suspects had

afternoon. we'll call it filtered sunshine. fog will sit around. a warm one overnight with inland areas in the upper 60s to the mid-70s. this is why many of our hill tops are going to be under a heat advisory through tomorrow night. overnight lows will not drop much especially in the hills and inland valleys. along the coast temperatures will be quite comfortable in the 50s. tomorrow afternoon here is how it plays out. hot inland. morgan hill 101. san jose 95 degsz on the peninsula. 68 in half-moon bay. downtown san francisco, 75 degrees. as you look at the north bay temperatures will be in the triple digits. 97 in santa rosa. east bay temperatures will be in the 80s. 81 in oakland. inland spots will be sizzling again. 101 degrees in concord. 102 antioch. stay hydrated. stay cool. do not forget about your kids
