56-year-old andrew warren surrendered at park station in san francisco around the same time. >> he was without incident. he did turn himself in and we confirmed he was wanted out of chicago for a murder. >> chicago police had been searching for the men since last thursday night. that's when 26-year-old trenton corn l was found stabbed to death in latham's luxury apartment. police say it was a gruesome scene. >> this place is very safe. most of the time. i've been here 14 years. >> police say the men appeared to have live nd the apartment together. lathen was an associate professor of micro biology at northwestern university. >> i had him give a talk and he seemed like a normal guy. >> police say latham put together a video apology he sent to family and friends, which they shared with u.s. marshals. they're not releasing the video because it's part of the investigation.

to find whoever was responsible. the fire started on july 16th and has burned 81,000 acres. it is 97% contained. this morning, the remain of a marine are back home after a tragic accident. a memorial is scheduled today for 23-year-old marine corporal skyler james who died after he was struck by lightning last month in north carolina. it happened while he worked as an aviation mechanic. last night, friends and family gathered to pay tribe. american legion and patriot guard riders were inside the terminal as the marine master sergeant carried the ashes of the 23-year-old pete lieu ma high school graduate. he enlisted in 2014. >> when ever i would talk to him, he was like mom, it's just a mechanic. they told me he excelled at an exceptional rate and the morning

>> the passengers were taken to pier 33. thankfully, no injuries to report. a central valley woman is in the hospital after surviving on insects and water from a cow trough for more than two weeks. she crashed her car on july 17th. after the crash, she was nowhere to be found. that until yesterday morning. abc 7 news anchor ana dates has the story. >> a teacher has been found alive weeks after she crashed her car and disappeared. search volunteers found her near a fence less than a mile away from the july 17th crash site. >> i did not wake up this morning thinking that i would find jamie and it's a miracle we tid. volunteers decided to come back

to the original site and look around one last time. that's when search crews spotted something unusual. >> something out of the ordinary. it looked like a set of knees. i'm like, boy, you know, all of a sudden, that's her. so we got out, i wonder if she's alive, then she said, i'm alive. >> the sheriff says she was severely sunburned, dehydrated and malnourished, but didn't want to be rescued. >> we were treating her here, talking about getting her to the hospital and such and she didn't want anything to do with that. she just wanted food and water and let her go. >> she survived by eating insects and drinking water from a nearby cow trough. she was air lifted to the hospital. officials say she had been b struggling wh emotional issues prior to the crash. once released from the hospital, she'll be released to her relatives. teachers aren't the only ones who make an impact. happening today, the diablo is having trainees. you can apply at the district

cooler because of the marine influence and fog pushing its way into some inland locations. here's a live view from mt. tam. also some partial clearing. we will be dealing with lingering humidity this morning, but then drier air moves in the rest of the weekend and then we'll see a typical summer like pattern with fog at the coast. sunshine inland. cloudy and mild and half moon bay in the 60s. san francisco, 69. oakland, 74. comfortable weather there. low 80s through part of the south bay. 83 in san jose, but still warm inland. we'll see the low 90s in ant ok and in livermore and if you're heading to the fair, a mild start this morning. it will be 70 degrees by 11:00 and then lots of sunshine this afternoon hitting the upper 80s, but then things start to cool
