lelgts sta let's start with a quick look at the weather. >> good morning, everyone. we're seeing a typical summertime pattern right now with live doppler 7, fog and low clouds have spilled into the bay making for a cooler morning in some areas temperatures right now range from the 50s to 60s. no more 70s like we've seen the last few mornings. san francisco is 58, oakland 60, san jose 65. and you see some graft sy skies.

we could be dealing with sprinkles especially along the coast. so clearing by noontime and then this afternoon mostly sunny for everyone. the clouds stick around at the coast, but you notice temperatures are a bit cooler especially inland and around the bay. enjoy the beautiful sunday, sunset is at 8:12. this morning there is tight ir security at dolores park after a tripping shooting last week. law enforcement joined neighbors during a movie night at the park last night to try to ease everyone's fears. five suspects are still on the loose. ♪ >> reporter: at dolores park, movie fans cut loose to "footloose," all under the watchful eye of police, park rangers and private security. >> it makes us feel a lot safer. >> reporter: this is the first

major event since thursday's shooting. the suspects crossed the foot bridge into the park at church street wearing bandanas and hoodies. and then they started shooting at three people, a 16-year-old boy and a 37-year-old and a 69-year-old man. san francisco police have upped patrols assigning two officers to the park daily which didn't go unnoticed by this group. >> we try to be out by sundown because generally it's not the best place. especially because of the shooting, you don't want to put yourself in a situation that could be a bat thing. >> reporter: but for the most part, movie night attendees didn't want to let thursday's shooting stop a tradition that makes san francisco what it is. >> you just enjoy it too much. it's part of the city and we live in the city and we don't want to be afraid. >> i kind of felt it was a one time incident that occurred and it's not something that we hear about, i haven't heard about it in the neighborhood. >> reporter: event organizers say the turnout is the same as

any eother movie night. abc 7 news. developing news in san francisco where police are searching for young women who pepper sprayed at least one passenger abort a b.a.r.t. train, it happened around 8:30 last night at the embarcadero bhart o b.a.r.t. station. b.a.r.t. radio gives us more information. the suspects escaped. it is unclear whether they made off with any stolen property. san francisco police are investigating a stabbing aboard a muni shuttle bus, it happened just after 9:00 last night at

market and delores streets. authorities say there were two passengers involved in the stabbing. no word yet on the extent of the injuries or if anyone has been arrested. a stubborn fire that broke out last week in the mills above uc berkeley is completely out this morning. firefighters fully contained the flames yesterday. the fire started wednesday afternoon on grizzly peak. investigators are looking into whether it was set intentionally. drone view 7 gives us a look at the scorched land. firefighters say 20 acres of brush and trees burned. we're learning more about the suspects of a nationwide manhunt found here in the bay area. two men are accused of killing a hairstylist in chicago, a stabbing so violent police say the knife broke off in the victim. abc 7 news reporter cornell barnard has our story. >> reporter: two wanted men on the run, now in custody for the

brutal murder ever a chicago man. 42-year-old wiyndham latham sur tre reb kerred peace pli an and drew warren, an employee at oxford university in england, gave himself up in san francisco around the same time. both men face first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of 26-year-old trenton cornell. chicago police found his body nine days ago describing a horrific crime scene inside professor latham's chicago apartment. the same day an hour away in wisconsin, the two suspects made a mysterious $1,000 donation to a public library in his name. investigators believe professor latham and the victim had a relationship. according to chicago police, latham sent a video to family and friends apologizing for the murder saying it is the biggest mistake of my life.

lay that much seen here in another online video was a micro by ol guest at northwestern for ten years. >> i had him give a talk to some students about his research. and he just seemed like a perfectly normal guy. >> reporter: san francisco police denied our request for a jailhouse interview with andrew warren. both suspects are awaiting extradition back to i would notice. santa rosa police shot and killed a man armed with a knife. they had arrived at a home after receiving a call about a man quote acting crazy. they found him under a bed and when they wouldn't drop a knife, they used what they are calling electronic control devices and chemical agents. he still refused to drop the knife. officers say he advanced on them, at least one opened fire hitting the man killing him. body cam video recorded the incident. the video will not be released while the incident is being

investigated. a sad but selfless day for sikh communities as tribute was paid to the memory of those killed in a 2012 massacre. abc 7 news was in san jose where volunteers prepared hygiene kits for the group next door solutions to domestic violence. five year as ago six were killed. the work was a wave giving back in remembrance. >> candidatoday we are a commem that tragedy by honoring the victims. and with selfless service. >> other communities also served meals to the homeless in san francisco to helping at a habitat restoration project. the heavy weights of high

school sports in the east bay came together this weekend to support a paralyzed east bay teenager and his family. jake havier broke his neck in a pool. he was paralyzed date before his graduation there high school. football players from his alma mater and also rival schools came together to play a charity game benefiting him. the fundraiser was organized by legendary football coach bob meduso who says the boy has big plans to accomplish. >> he's headed off to cal poly. needs special help to get around to his classes. and, you know, insurance doesn't cover it, i thought we could defray some of the costs and get him going on his first year at school. >> they hope to raise $100,000. we have a link on our website

abc7news.com if you would like to contribute. oakland as outfielder matt joyce has been suspended for two games after he shouted anti-gay profanities at a fan and challenged him to a fight. it happened right after this at bat by joyce in the eighth inning of thursdy night's game. joyce posted a seven part tweet saying he is beyond sorry for what happened and called it a truly regrettable moment. manager bob melvin had this to say before last night's game. >> take think te proper steps tk on it and he's paid the price. so these next two games and hopefully learned a valuable lesson. >> the as will donate $54,000 of joyce's lost salary to outreach programs in the lgbt community. starting today, some bus riders in san mateo county will

an east bay father of three has been deported while the man detained with him faces an uncertain future. the mercury news reports that nunez was kicked out of the country, thoort authorities de the two back in may when they reported to a new construction job at traverse air force base. their arrest sparked protests. neither man was allowed a trial. thinking of traveling out of the country, there is a new place to apply for passports in richmond. the post office will begin taking passport applications

tomorrow. that office will open mondays and wednesdays from 10:00 to 4:00. and on fridays from 10:00 to 2:00. you must make an appointment in advance. well, the smash hit musical "hamilton" turned down the lights in san francisco. the cast made its final curtain call last night before a sold out crowd. the audience cheered and gave them a standing o. the musical won't be back in san francisco until 2019. abc 7 news lonni rivera has more on the last show. >> reporter: it's a bitter sweet occasion. the hot musical "hamilton" wraps up its final show in san francisco, and for the cast, saying so long isn't easy. >> i am sad. the city treated us so amazingly well. >> is ththis show is so alive a

the owe may gmega boys club and program alive and free has mentored thousands. tonight there will be a special reception for its supporters. this video is from a couple years ago when the nonprofit celebrated its 200th college graduate. the omega boys club began in the basement of a neighborhood house and abc 7 was the first to provide coverage and help raise funds for the organization 30 years ago. a middle schoolteacher, joe marshall, and a counselor, wanted to steer kids away from violence and crime. good morning. here is a look at live doppler 7 so you can see the circulation of the air. things have been transitioning over the past day and we'll see the return of the sea breeze and the onshore flow. the monsoonal moisture is well east. we are starting out with low

gray clouds over most of the bay area and even fog and drizzle closer to the coast. but check out this live shot of the golden gate bridge, you can see clear across the span totally socked in yesterday. so it's a little different. san francisco 58, oakland 60, mountain view 64, san jose 65. and check out the shot of the bay bridge. a little bit of a sea breeze, you can see the flags blowing. so notice it's not as muggy as it was yesterday morning. we're seeing a lot more 50s out there. we've been waking up to temperatures in the 70s. but right now you can expect most of them in the 50s. santa rosa, napa, concord, river more a little milder in the low 60s. and let me show you the cloud animation. so by 9:00, most of us already in the clear except for portions of the north bay and we had low clouds still spilling in across san francisco into parts of east bay. and then the clouds retreat back to the coast by the afternoon, push its way back this again

overnight into tomorrow. so we could see morning drizzle once again. highs today a little bit cooler compared to yesterday especially in the inland areas. so we'll only top out in the upper 80s in answer yok and in san jose, 80 for you there. san francisco, it will be breezy especially as you head to the beaches and cloudy there, as well. we'll hit 66, oakland 70, san jose 80 as i mentioned. and also if you are heading to the beaches, it will be mild every and you can get some relief there with temperatures mainly in the 60s. expect a sea breeze of about 10 to 20 miles an hour. and also the last day of the santa clara county fair, so if you want to enjoy that, t shirts and shorts weather once again, slatt slather on the sunscreen. a mild start. we'll hit the low 80s by the afternoon mch and sti afternoon.

and still clear at night as well. overnight lows again more comfortable. so if you have been having a tough time with the humidity, you can definitely open the windows tonight. we could see some drizzle there pockets of green right along the coast. the low clouds will spread inland, a few of those 60s out there in palo alto, answer y antioch. today mostly sunny. tomorrow we have the morning coastal drizzle again and the fog and low clouds continue. we'll have a fairly steady pattern, typical summertime weather. low clouds, fog, even some possible drizzle during the morning hours. but plenty of sunshine in the afternoon and even a little bit warmer as we head towards the end of the workweek. so enjoy the nice weather while you can because i know people have been complaining about the muggy conditions. >> yeah, it rained overnight in san francisco. >> definitely had some fridrizz. i'll see if we had measurable

and notice a cooler afternoon especially inland. we'll see the upper 80s this time instead of some low 90s. around the bay comfortable and mild in the mid-70s. and at the coast, still in the 60s. sunset at 8:12. enjoy the beautiful and mostly sunny afternoon. we have developing news this morning. ucla notifying thousands of students about a possible security breach. the university says a hacker gained access to a server containing personal data from more than 30,000 current and former students. officials don't believe the hacker stole any sensitive information, but they are offering free identity protection services for one year. chaos saturday on an american airlines flights heading to philadelphia. severe turbulence sent people flying through the plane. the crew members and passengers were taken to the hospital once the plane landed. no immediate word on the severity of those injuries.

"good morning america." east bay democratic congressman spending his summer vacation so to speak talking with constituents. he spent yesterday in union city choosing to use his off days to get to know people in his district and bringing them up-to-date on the investigation into russia and the presidential election. >> house intelligence committee is making progress. we've brought in a number of witnesses, we're trying to understand how we were so vulnerable, whether any u.s. persons were involved and when we can do to make sure it never happens again. >> he also hosted a town hall in livermore and last week he went on a hike with people in castro valley. the u.s. government has called off the search for three missing marines after their aircraft crashed into the sea off the east coast of australia while trying to land. 23 people aboard the aircraft were rescued. the mv 22 osprey similar to this

one went in to the water during training with australian forces. no word yet what caused that crash. a california town with a population of 20, yes, 20 people has been sold to an arizona marijuana company to create a pot friendly tourist destination. the town is called nipton, about an hour from vegas just across the nevada border and three hours from l.a. american green bought the town lock stock and barrel for $5 million. it plans to invest $2.5 million in nipton over the next 18 months. one resident does not like the impending change. >> i love it out here. i can't imagine living in a big town or city anymore. >> hear it might be getting bought and i hear that i might be sold. >> well, american green is looking to take advantage of california legalizing marijuana. pot would be grown, sold and used while other attractions are
