the company ceo takes the stage and delivers a message to young girls trying to break into silicon valley. good evening and thank you for joining us tonight. i'm ama daetz. >> i'm dan ashley. google ceo delivered his remarks in mountain view this evening. it happened around the same time james damore was on the google campus. >> he's the man fired from the company pending t now infamous memo on gender diversity. he held a sign saying "fired while telling the truth" while wearing a shirt with the word gulag. >> katie marzullo is live in mountain view with the new developments. katey. >> reporter: dan, ama, the event was an award ceremony for girls in tech. the ceo of google gave the girls a well- received pep talk. that was after he cancered a company meeting on gender diversity. >> you belong here and we need you.

"abc 7 news" was in mountain view as he toured a military technology research facility at moffett field. he said he backs efforts by the administration to seek a diplomatic solution. >> the american effort is diplomatically led. it has diplomatic traction, it is gaining diplomatic results.

music was on that stolen laptop. they hope to share other clips of him singing on social media, sharing his talents with the bay area and the world ♪ >> reporter: in oakland, cornell bernard "abc 7 news." new tonight, thieves are targeting up scale homes along an east bay golf course. the contra costa county sheriff's office released pictures of burglars wanted for break-ins last friday. they appeared to enter from the back of the homes, accessing from the golf course itself. federal atf agents just made their largest number arrests for one operation in history right here in the bay area. individual wrote shared with "abc 7 news" shows operation cold day. after a two-year investigation, law enforcement arrested more than 75 people tuesday and yd in san mateo and san francisco counties. they seized more than 100 ounces of illegal drugs, 90 stolen guns

all right. the 10th annual outside lands music festival is set to begin in less than 12 hours at san francisco golden gate park. fans can't wait. >> police say they're ready. "abc 7 news" reporter lisa amin gulezian joins us live from fulton street tonight. lisa. >> reporter: a lot of people were here at the box office behind me until a little while ago. they were excited to pick up their wrist bands and get receipty for outside lands. these music fans came straight from sfo tonight. >> very excited. it is like our favorite festival, so excited to be here. 10-year anniversary especially. >> reporter: out lied lands organizers promise not to disappoint. the music, the art, the food, it is all a major draw. the line-up is attracting festival goers from all over the world. >> metallicic, sadly gorillas

but they say at the same time. class animals. >> reporter: the three-day festival requires a lot of planning. it will impact traffic flow, park access. and people. 210,000 attendees will be everywhere. so will police and security. organizers hope problems with counterfeit tickets like in the past will be alleviated with coded wrist bands. >> i knew people who buy tickets off of craig's list and they ended up being fake tickets. >> reporter: still, outside lands gives the city a huge economic boost, generating $60 million this weekend. at the mucky duck, extra staff will be on hand. >> we pick up extra kegs, extra bottles of liquor. we make sure we're fully stocked because it is going to be definitely busy on friday and saturday night. >> reporter: the manager expects a 25% bump in business. in san francisco, lisa amin gulezian, "abc 7 news" and if you're headed to

"abc 7 news" was in oakland minutes after the senator met with the sanchez family. the family spent 20 years battling to stay in the united states, but under the trump administration their time has simply run out. senator feinstein told us she plans to introduce special legislation next month to temporarily lift their deportation in the hope of bringing them back to the u.s. >> i feel we're at peace now because i know she will go out of her way to help us out. >> this is a good family. they work. they contribute to the community. >> the couple's four children, all born here, will be allowed

here. it was a bit breezy again today. >> it was. meteorologist sandhya patel is looking ahead to the weekend. >> that's right. they have hail to worry about, dan and ama. here we have drizzle to worry about. i want to show you from our "abc 7 news" exploratorium camera a time lapse from earlier this evening. you will notice trans america pyramid, the financial district sock in. marine layer was healthy until this evening, around 2,000 feet. it is now down to about 1200 feet, indicating that changes are ahead. you're going to see earlier burn-off of the clouds tomorrow and the drizzle. here is what is going to happen to the temperatures. antioch, 90 degrees. over the weekend we will go 88 and on monday temperature will drop down to 84 degrees. it is not going to feel like summer, it is going to feel more like late fall for our inland areas, and then the heat returns wednesday, thursday. that will be a reminder that yes, it is still summer. here is a look at live doppler 7 right now. the coverage of the low clouds is really all the way into

mountain view, san jose, into the east bay and even pushing towards the north bay. we have extendive low clouds right now. i want to show you something interesting on the water vapor. this has been responsible for the thunderstorms we have seen around the state recently with all of the lightning strikes, but it is the same system that brought us the humid weather last week. so it is not going away any time soon, and this is what kept us at or below normal for this time of year. but as we head into the weekend, this will finally shift off and we will have another area of low pressure drop down, bringing that much cooler air from the gulf of alaska. monday will not feel like summer. temperature also in 50s to 70s. a live look from our exploratorium camera from pier 15. you can see the overcast conditions right now, misty as well. cloudy and drizzly start to tomorrow. summer heat returns late next week. here is the hour-by-hour forecast. 5:00 a.m. tomorrow, the green indicating some drizzle.

the morning commute will be damp around parts of the bay area, and at we head to the afternoon most areas will see the sun except for a few spots near the coast that hang on to the cloud cover. tomorrow morning i would call it sweater weather, mid 50s to low 60s for you out there with cloudy conditions. clouds hang on to parts of the coast, and the rest looking at sunshine and a nice looking today. coastal highs will come up a little bit, low 60s to low 90s for your friday afternoon. yes, there will be warmth to be found inland. saturday temperatures dropping to upper 80s, inland. sunday, not much change in terms of the weather. but monday when you have low to mid 80s for the warmest spots, it is going to be a noticeable difference in the forecast. here is a look at outside lands friday. tomorrow looking at breezy conditions in golden gate part, 62 degrees. a cool day on saturday and sunday. morning in the mid 50s to upper 50s. perfect idea to pack the layers.
