your carriers for potential delays. now toour her top story. a driver is in custody tonight after plowing through a crowd of people protesting a white nationalist rally. the president has responded and people are not happy with what he did and did not do. he denounced the violence but did not denounce the white nationalist. here with details. >> reporter: violence and death in charlottesville, virginia. a state of emergency declared after counterprotesters clashed. starting on friday white nationalists assembled, some swinging torches. they dispersed the crowds, calling it an unlawful assembly. the violence reached a new level saturday afternoon when a car plowed into the group protesting

tensions are high in charlottesville, virginia where at least one person is dead after a car plowed into a group of anti-protesters. andrea, we can see it's raining. >> reporter: it's been raining for quite a bit now, yes and it has been quiet in the college town for several hours now after the violence that broke out nis morning yet again after last night's protest. some people are gathered here on the mall. lighting candles. a vigil has started as you can see and i don't know if we can come around and they're trying to keep the candles lit. they have some flowers laid out as well. some of these folks tell us they were on fourth street earlier today when a car came speeding down this street and crashed into a crowd of counterprotesters. at the end, more toward water street. you can see two cars are still

there in the intersection. those were hit by that dodge challenger that came speeding down, crashed into the cars. hit several people. one 32-year-old woman was killed out here today. 19 people were injured at least. this all started with this unite the white rally. >> that was andrea live from charlottesville. and there's still investigation going on into the violence and the death of the driver. the the 7-acre blaze broke out near highway 101. they say a passing car started that fire. flames raced up towards the subdivision. they dropped retardant to keep

in oakland and hayward, maybe even livermore. 73 in nuvaudo. 81 by the delta. southwest winds almost up to 30 miles per hour. concord and livermore, mid to upper 70s. you can see the fog across the bay into oakland and if we look at san jose, for an example, you'll start out clear tomorrow. average highs in the low 80s and temperatures around the 80-degree mark. look at monday and tuesday, numbers continue to drop off well below average. it's going to take until the end of the week before we recover. you can see it pushing out across the bay. but look how it pulls away from the marine county coast. but across the bridge, down to half moon bay and pacifica, another cool day, including at golden gate park. upper 70 -- low 70s for santa
