they cannot return to the u.s. for at least ten years. the sanchez's 15 year fight for the american dream ended in deportation. despite calls into the time hours from their oakland home. >> i pay taxes that i work, i'm not a burden for the community. >> reporter: maria sanchez applied for a green card in 2002 after following her husband to the united states from mexico. >> i still went to school and work and work and work and paid for my education, my for my chirp's education. >> they rallied behind the nurse monday. senator feinstein tried to intervene. an immigration attorney explained there's no path for those somewhat enter illegally. >> had they never sought to obtain a formal benefit, we wouldn't know the family existed. >> reporter: the sanchezs

received deportation notice in 2012 but granted stays under the previous administration. now the department of homeland security tells them -- >> if they approve a stay for me, that sends the wrong message to the rest of the community. >> reporter: the message from experts? consult an attorney before addressing your immigration stat status. the three oldest sanchez children stay in the bay area. one graduates from santa cruz next year. >> what life is that? to not be together. i want everybody to know this. this is real. we're in pain. >> reporter: the couple's 12-year-old son will move to mexico with them. >> to my kids, i love them very much. i'm not going to heal physically, but i'm going to be here somehow. >> reporter: abc 7 news. >> protesters gathered outside an oakland home today after being raided by federal agents. officials say it was not an immigration matter, but a child

sex trafficking investigation. we were in front of the home on 27th street. oakland police on hand for traffic enforcement. they wouldn't have been involved if it were immigration or deportation action. two men detained. a woman in the home says her family is not involved in illegal activity. protesters also demonstrated against the county sheriff's office today after it retweeted a prominent white sue prep cyst. several dozen held signs and chaptered outside the off tice, and the information officer said it was by accident after searching for a planned event next weekend. protesters say it's a pattern of racism in the department. the national park service received comments over a proposed right wing rally in san francisco. portland reality investor is planning what he calls a free speech rally next saturday. we obtained documents showing

including two children. flames raced through the home at the golden wheel mobile home park on oakland road. yesterday's fire broke out while a 10-year-old girl was visiting her friend. other victims were wynn tran and her uncle, and neighbors left tributes outside the mobile home all day long. the community was ravaged when the creek flooded in february. a propane leak led to a hazmat response. the fire crews responded to what's called a small leak. shell did not respond to our requests for comment, but tweeted that the company experienced, quote, an operational issue that resulted in intermitten flairing that you see here. sky 7 was over san francisco appointment as rescuers worked to get a trapped hiker off the side of a cliff stuck 30 feet down. firefighters responded. one climbed down the cliff side as you see there, hooked the

we are midweek. >> yeah, we are. mid month as well. >> yeah. >> sandy is here. >> hopefully the weather is just as good as that impersonation there. he was good. live doppler 7 right now, typical summer fashion, we have the fog along the coastline, and it's already starting to advance in over parts of the north bay. we are seeing some definite changes in the weather. that marine layer is compre compressing. it's no longer as deep as it was yesterday allowing warmer to take place this afternoon. this is a live look from the exploratory camera. skies are gray. fog near the coast and bay for the morning commute. warming trend into the weekend, but cooler as we head towards sunday and the all-important monday, solar eclipse morning. i want to show how what it looks like in terms of temperatures now. check it out. all in the 50s and 60s. by morning, those temperatures will drop.

all right, august 21st, 9:01, eclipse begins monday. at 10: 15, see 75% of the sun eclipsed by the moon. perfect alignment between the sun, moon, and earth allowing us to see this rare event. the eclipse ends at 11:37.11:37. use a pinhole projector or special glasses. this is the percentage of the sun covered. on the west coach, best chance is in salem, oregon for totality. go up north to see it on the west coasts but here in the bay area? we'll see good viewing conditions, at least inland. 75% of the sun will be covered. here's an idea of what's going to happen. there's going to be a system that's going to drop down along the coastline, and it's just going to sort of meander off the coast. before the eclipse begins at 7:00 a.m. monday, there's cloud cover here. that cloud cover continues going into 9:00 a.m., at least along
