look at this this afternoon. a short time ago crews finally got a handle on this thing. i'm dan ashley. >> this fire burned 200 acres at camp parks north of alameda county santa rita jail. we got word the fire is out and evacuation vs been lifted. >> it was intense for a time. laura anthony is live with the latest. >> reporter: hi, dan. we're here at the office of emergency services where we just got a briefing. officially they are saying this fire is 90% contained. we can tell you it does appear to be completely out let's show you what it looked like earlier this afternoon. just after 2:00 this fire was whipped by some strong winds out here. fortunately, not all that hot out here. we do know this grass area is certainly very dry. this was a wind whipped fire. it was moving very quickly. we're told it started on camp parks property and stayed within

that property but was moving toward the subdivision, wallace ranch that is hundreds of home. mu newly built, many under construction. >> the wind driven fire was traveling towards wallace ranch. the fire did create a lot of smoke. the sheriff's office and dublin police services diz perform evacuations. >> reporter: there were a few evacuations we're told of some of the occupied homes that were near the head of the fire. we can tell you when we got out there fire crews were mopping up. they were able to put out this fire fairly quickly in about an hour and a half. much of that with the help of some air support. we saw fire retardant and there were water drops earlier today. tfrs a close call but in the end no injuries, no structures damaged. laura anthony, abc 7 news.

does apyre to be an unprovoked attack. >> reporter: he's been charged with the shooting and killing of 30-year-old jake walter. juniuo appeared in court today. >> we still are interviewing individuals. the san jose hasn't brought over full discovery yet. >> reporter: an oakland native left the night market concert when he came up to a group of off duty firefighters and started shooting. walter was shot once in the chest and did not survive. police say surveillance video shows what appears to be a surprise attack. >> what a horrible tragic event this is for the walter family add well as the people of oakland and the oakland fire department. >> reporter: this is not the first time junio has been in trouble with the law. he has two prior burglary related convictions from 2009

and 2010 which makes it illegal to possess a firearm. he's currently being held at the county jail and will return for his next court appearance in mid-september. his public defender declined to comment on the case. >> a memory will be leld this saturday morning at the scottish right center on lake side drive in oakland. word come could down on whether a right wing rally can take place this saturday. at issue, a permit. the mayor is urging people to attend a counter event. >> reporter: this a copy of the application for this event on saturday. all it needs now is the stamp of approval.

the sonoma county sheriff's department is showing off results of a month's long investigation. there were four guns found, cocaine and thousands of dollars. deputies arrested two men. the founder of a mill valley private school has pleaded guilty in a million dollar embezzlement case. she was accused of using money from the school for personal expenses. she pleadsed guilty to one count of grand theft in a plea deal but is expected to see her serve a year in county jail. a san francisco property owner facing a lawsuit for forcing people to live in an unsafe dungeon like basement. they filed a lawsuit today and released these pictures. melissa mendoza owns the building. for more than a decade 20 people lived in the basement. it has no windows and only one

as expansive as it has been in past couple of nights. we'll see the coastal cloud cover and around the bay we'll have patchy fog. mid-50s to low 60s will be your overnight temperatures and your starting temperatures as we get you out the door. let's go hour by hour through 7:00 tomorrow morning. notice the fog not as thick as it has been past couple of mornings. it's quickly going to pull back to the coast. we have clearing skies. patchy cloud cover still on the coast. that means we're going to warm quickly. by 2 dl:00 in the afternoon we' going inland. highs on your wednesday take a look at this. a few degrees warmer than today. a high of 92 in antioch. 68 with afternoon sunshine in san francisco. about 85 in santa rosa and 78 the high in palo alto.

the temperature out look for the up coming weekend. you can see much of the western half of the united states will feature temperatures above average just to our east. you see that's greatest above average where the hot weather will be. we'll still feel it especially saturday into sunday. 60s and 70s along the coast. a will the of 80s becoming widespread. inland we're going into the mid and upper 90s. >> 80s around bay. by monday an tuesday backing off by the numbers. it is warmer. thanks. we're still in summer. still have labor day. it's in the right app.
