here's abc's linsey davis. >> reporter: word that google, the number one search engine is joining forces with retail giant, walmart. a partnership that promises to turn up the convenience for consumers and could change the way we shop, with hands-free help from google assistant. as of september, you'll also be able to make online walmart purchases with google assistant, similar to amazon purchases with alexa. the companies are taking direct aim at online retailing behemoth, amazon, which is diving further into the grocery business after recently announcing a deal to purchase whole foods. >> people may not be using these smart speakers as much now, but eventually, it's going to be so integrated into our homes and lives we won't know another way to shop. >> reporter: google is also hoping to lure new customers by scrapping that $95 express membership fee and offering free two-day shipping for orders that meet the minimum.

blood pressure and most likely died of natural cause. and we're learning new details about diplomats in cuba suffering from a reported sonic attack. some symptoms were more serious than originally reported. sources say the symptoms included hearing loss, memory loss, loss of balance and vision issues. and the state department says some of those americans had to be medically evacuated to miami for treatment and testing. and breaking overnight, a white nationalist who marched at the charlottesville rally has turned himself in. christopher cantwell was among dozens who marched at the university of virginia. carrying those torches on august 11, the night before the rally. a tearful cantwell made a facebook video saying he might be arrested. >> we've been coordinating with law enforcement the whole time. every time we've tried to dot right thing, and they just won't

tropical storm has formed, harvey, set to slam south texas this weekend. harvey is in the gulf of mexico right now. the projected path takes it friday into saturday, somewhere between brownsville and houston. by then, it may be a weak hurricane. a four to six-foot storm surge is expected along that coast, but the real danger is from the rain, up to 20 inches. many store shelves looking like this. this is in corpus christi. and evacuations are set to begin later this morning. they're stockpiling sandbags, getting ready for the storm surge. the texas governor has declared a state of emergency in some 30 counties in that state. in charlottesville, a controversial confederate statue has been covered. it's a symbol of mourning for heather heyer. she was killed protesting at a white nationalist rally. they decided to cover the statue and that of stonewall jackson located at another nearby park. a few hours later, a man tried
