high fire danger. red flag warning until 9:00 tonight in the highlighted areas. that excessive heat warning for the bay area, today, it lasts until 9:00 and lass through monday for the rest of the bay area. of course, another spare the air day today. you know you saw the smoke yesterday and once again, air quality will be poor around the bay area, but worst in the east and south bay. 60s at the coast. 70 around the bay. 80s inlantd. by noon, well over 100 degrees inland with 90s oakland and record heat, san francisco could be about 98 today. still 80s at our beaches then we'll look for relief as soon as tomorrow. >> a lot to take in. thank you. a traffic alert. prepared for delays on b.a.r.t. or cal train this weekend. the record setting heat is slowing down trains. the extreme temperatures may cause the tracks to shift, so

triple digit temperatures aren't helping either. it was 106 degrees in the burbank area yesterday. firefighters had a hard time getting to a brush fire in sap jose, but once they fot there, they quickly put out the flames. i started near communications hill around 9:20 last night and wurning one and a half acres. developing news this morning, president trump is flying into houston to survey disaster zones after harvey. the storm is projected to be at least the second most costly natural disaster in u.s. history. >> allisoelizabeth hur joining houston with the late e on the clean up and recovery efforts. good morning. >> chris, good morning. here in houston, the city is almost dry and clean up is underway and you can see just driving around town, you can't get far without running into just piles and piles of wet furniture lining the sidewalks. and that's tr people who had a

good morning and thanks so much for joining us. starting this half hour, a quick look at the weather. here's lisa. she's tracking the conditions where you live. >> hey, chris sh it is a warm morning out there and pretty much all night long to get into the 60s in the north bay. 64 in novato, 63 in half moon bay, but look at san francisco. with 106 yesterday, right now, it is 78 degrees, so another warm one everywhere with dangerous heat again. and the national weather service has not only issued the advisory, they're continuing into today, so 7 degrees warmer from san to rosa, 8 degrees warmer than yesterday. we start out with a red flag until 9:00 tonight. mainly in the higher elevations. east bay, diablo and santa cruz mountains. the coast from san marin to san matteo. tomorrow is going to get better

here and that lasts through monday. so, it looks like a little bit of relief from the heat coming overnight tonight into your sunday. but as for today, the air quality once again hazy, unhealthy everywhere. but in the east bay and santa clara valley, you may notice that the most. temperatures from the 60s to 70s and low 80s this morning. that's 7:00. noontime, over 100 degrees inland. mid 90s around the bay. 70s at the coast, 80s at the shoreline by 4:00 and look at the afternoon highs from 102 around the bay to 114 in our inland valleys, so this will be a last day. i'll tell you what you can look forward to coming up. >> thank you. tropical storm harvey is expected to be one of the costliest disasters in u.s. history. the governor of texas estimates it will cost more than 125 billion clrs to recover from the destruction and loss in economic output. 73,000 people b have been rescueded. and 185,000 homes are either
