5:01 am
i don't have any major problems to talk about so far. we did have an issue here in the dublin area. westbound 580 connector to 680 was closed, initially they thought for about three hours this morning. they got it down to 30 minutes. they were doing repairs on an attenuator in the area. they got it wrapped up about 15 minutes ago. for a short time, we had a backup, but things have cleared out. mass transit off to a much better start than yesterday, too. we'll look at that coming up next. we continue tracking breaking news in san jose. san jose police have just confirmed they are indeed investigating a homicide in the area of story road and hopkins. also just a few moments ago, we learned from our crews the suspect still on the loose right now. i want to quickly show you these live images of what's happening out there. police have started to clear some of the scene already. you can see crime scene tape is
5:02 am
down. but there are still cones out there, still police presence. overnight, police surrounded an apartment complex and they are still gathering evidence in a strip mall near that intersection. you can see it here in that live picture. we're told initial calls to police came in at 9:30 last night. right now, very little information. tiffany wilson working the scene, we'll check in with her for the latest at 5:30. >> thank you. democratic leaders are hoping to convince congress to bring the d.r.e.a.m. act to a vote. this comes as many daca recipients are calling the trump administration's actions a nightmare. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield joins us live in san francisco with the latest. amy. >> reporter: matt, expect to see a press conference first thing this morning led by house democratic leader nancy pelosi. they are going to demand that congress put things in place to protect daca recipients. that's going to take place in washington. but here in san francisco, the resistance is also under way. look at the protests that
