to the left and started, like, shaking and people started to notice and they were, like, are you okay? there was a couple next to me and then a woman behind them that came over. and kind of caused a commotion. and then the person got off at the next stop. >> reporter: b.a.r.t. is taking this matter very seriously. spokes woman says something like this has never happened before. she responded to the tweets late last night and said i call the watch commander to make sure they were aware. they have the train number and can pull the footage to i.d. the suspect. they said they would have to take that train out of circulation and then download the video and she does not think they'll be even able to see the video until tomorrow at the earliest. reporting live in san francisco, abc 7 news. >> thank you. in developing news, the caribbean battered by storms now facing another hurricane.

clear debris. hundreds of thousands of floridians still without power which means no air conditioning and for many no clean drinking water. >> bring your supplies. bring your water. be self-sufficient. >> abc news. key west, florida. he will heroes from the urban search and rescue task force arrived back in the bay area after spending the last week providing hurricane relief. the team drove across country 5,000 miles from florida back to their base. they said the tough dangerous job of rescuing victims -- >> seeing they were sharing their concerns about their homes. that was interesting. it was kind of touching. >> the task force was deployed to florida almost immediately after other team members had returned from houston, texas, where they were helping hurricane harvey victims. today dozens of pets were forced out of their shelters

because of hurricane harvey arrived here in the bay area. now they need good homes. abc 7 news reporter tiffany wilson is live in hayward executive airport with their story. >> reporter: all of those cats and dogs that landed here a little more than an hour ago have left the airport. they are now on their way to go get baths and some food and to stretch their legs out. the organizers who chartered this flight said they need to do about ten more chartered flights to respect relief the overcrowding in houston. >> this present plane is full of very important passengers. 33 dogs. 30 cats. each a survivor of hurricane harvey. >> there's a huge problem now that 80,000 people lost their homes. a lot of pet owners don't have a home to take their pet to. >> by bringing shelter animals to the bay area, space opens up for displaced family pets. it's a lesson learned from hurricane katrina.

>> only 15% of all pets got reunited because they were shipping them all over. people couldn't find them. >> the cats and dogs will find new permanent homes in the bay area thanks in part to groups like the milo foundation. >> we have people that had katrina dogs. they say we're here to adopt harvey animals because we know they really need a place. >> reporter: families fill out adoption forms at the bay area pet fair today. >> we're very happy. especially for kids. they want a dog in the house. >> reporter: some of the hurricane rescues near pretty rough shape, but lynn says that hasn't stopped families from falling in love. >> probably half of the first load of animals from harvey went to foster homes that are failed fos ters because they're actually adopting their dog. >> reporter: the pet fair arg ni organizers say there's many great cats and dogs in need. >> they're not secondhand animals. they are good animals who found

themselves in the wrong situation. our goal here is to get them in the write situation. >> reporter: and in the right home. in hayward, tiffany wilson, abc 7 news. rj bay area marines have pitched in to help a fellow service member who was targeted by thieves last month. we first told you about the u-haul belonging to a marine sergeant that contained all his family personal belongings and it was stolen in santa rosa where he had recently relocated. former and active duty marines heard about his loss and raised money to help them out. today they presented a $10,000 check to the sergeant. >> some things money can't buy, but it will help us replace the necessities and be able to live a comfortable life. >> the stolen property is still missing. no arrests have been made. governor jerry brown has a month to sign new legislation just approved by state lawmakers although he's already got out the pen. coming up, bills he signed into law this week.
