inconsistencies between what we saw here in the field and the statement that milo yiannopoulous released. he says that protesters stormed the barricades and that he had to be rushed out of uc berkeley's campus. we were right there and we did not see anyone going over the barrica barricades. in fact, it would have been very difficult to do so because there were police officers every few feet along the perimeter. also uc berkeley officials say they don'twhy left when he did, but it was his choice. his unsanctioned and unsponsored appearance on uc berkeley's campus created hours of disruption and discord. and it cost the university at least $800,000 in security. yiannopoulos saw it differently. >> i got to say my piece. i have been there ifld one w

the statue should go somewhere else. the earthquake in mexico has killed thousands and left people homeless. >> reporter: a strong spirit in mexico city on the first sunday since the deadly 7.1 magnitude earthquake and the aftershocks that followed thousands are turning to their church to reflect. in the basilica de guadalupe, there's no shortage of hope. >> we're a country that has a lot of faith. that's why we're here praying to our mother that have a little mercy to this country that loves her very much. >> reporter: it's a country that over the course of a month has endured four earthquakes, three above the 6.0 magnitude. and just from tuesdays alone the death toll tops 100.

for the second time in less than two weeks a mountain lion has been spotted on or near cal's campus. hikers thought they saw one of the cats. it was about 75 feet away from them. eight days ago an employee saw a mountain lion hiding in the bushes off centennial lane off rugby field. police issued a safety alert on friday.

a judge in sacramento has ruled the wording of a ballot measure is misleading to voters. the language to get rid of the gas tax written by the attorney was intentionally deceptive. the description said a yes vote would eliminate transportation funding and oversight of road repair projects. the judge agreed and the attorney's office now has to rewrite the ballot measure summary. >> the judge was very clear. the attorney has intentionally written a summary that was designed to mislead california voters and essentially tried to prejudice them to keep this massive new gas tax of jerry brown. >> once the ruling's finalized, backers of the ballot measure would need to collect over 36 0005, to put the initiative on the ballot. there was another warm, beautiful day across the bay area. it's just going to get warmer. drew tuma up next. >> hello, i'm mike shumann.
