f a travel ban offered by the trump administration. they will not impact anyone who already holds a u.s. visa. the proclamation signed by president trump came out hours before a portion of his previous ban was set to expire. now the supreme court has scheduled arguments october 10th on whether the previous travel ban is legal. the justice department has signaled that this updated version could change those arguments. hawa hawaii's attorney general tweeted that he is currently reviewing these new restrictions. live at sfo, tiffany wilson, abc 7 news. it's 4:30. if you're just joining us let's get a quick update on weather and traffic where you live. lisa? this morning we are warmer than we were yesterday. notice that with the map behind me in yellow. in fact, the numbers are about four degrees warmer in oakland and livermore so that gives us a

head start to our warming trend today. because we have the red flag warning we're watching for the highest threat of fire spread between noon and 6:00 when the relative humidity plummets below 20%. the winds kick up. you'll notice our quick warm-up, 60s and 70s around the bay by noontime. upper 80s inland. 680 through the walnut creek stretch. nice volume so far this morning. we do have construction scheduled to wrap up at 5:00 at monument. that's not slowing you down at the moment. i will keep an eye on that. westbound 580 tracy to dublin, you are in the green still, 35 minutes. slowly starting to fill in out of the central valley. southbound 680 dublin to mission boulevard in the green at 15. northbound 85 between 101 and cupertino 16 minutes. we'll check on mass transit next. new this morning an abc

news/"washington post" poll shows americans support daca by a huge margin. 86% of americans support a right to residency for undocumented immigrants who arrived as children. president trump decided to phase out the program earlier this month. daca recipients could face deportation starting in march unless congress turns the program into law.t- at dianne feinstein's office calling to kill the republicans' health care bill. protests are set to start at noon. the republican health care bill is in critical condition. senate republicans are adding billions of dollars to it hoping to win support from some who pose the legislation. >> reporter: a town hall in iowa city this weekend. >> kill the bill, don't kill us. >> reporter: senator ertz supports the latest gop effort to repeal the affordable care

vo vote. >> reporter: mitch mcconnell says he plans to bring the bill up for a vote this week. president trump, who is now back here at the white house, says republicans will eventually win this help care fight whether it's now or later. stephanie ramos, abc news, the white house. happening today community leaders in san jose will call for increased police accountability after the eighth officer involved shooting. people acting in community together or p.a.c.t. want the city council to have moretrspar. it comes after police shot and killed jacob dominguez, a known gang member, earlier this month. p.a.c.t. says the trust is broken and safety is challenged. chp wants your help solving two robberies at toll booths. the first one took place yesterday morning. late they're day thieves struck again on the bay bridge. chp posted photos of two suspects wearing blue or purple latex gloves traveling in a

black mercedes. the sedan had paper plates and chrome accents. if you have any information about the robberies, chp would like to hear from you. a grass fire may be arson. abc 7 news was on san rafael hill as firefighters put out the flames. authorities say for youths were seen walking away from the fire. less than two acres burned and no one was hurt. they say goats grazing on the hill reduced the fuel and slowed the spread of the fire. authorities say one inmate is dead and several others were stabbed in a large prison riot on california's central coast. more than 160 inmates were involved in yesterday's brawl. a california men's colony near san luis obispo -- i'm sorry about this video. visitors were escorted out when the riot started. it was confirmed to the prison yard and cleared after about an hour. no guards were hurt. on to this story now. a judge in sacramento has ruled the wording of a ballot measure to repeat the gas tax is misleading to voters.

a lawsuit alleged that the language to get rid of the gas tax written by the attorney general was intentionally deceptive. the description of the proposed measure said a yes vote would eliminate funding and oversight of road repair projects. the judge agreed and the attorney general's office has to rewrite the ballot measure summary. >> the judge was very clear. the attorney general has intentionally written a title in summary designed to mislead california voters. and tried to prejudice them to keep this massive new gas tax of jerry uc students are paying for six-figure pensions with higher tuition fees. "los angeles times" says more than 5,400 uc retirees receive pensions worth more than $100,000 last year, that's a 60% increase since 2012. a spokeswoman says it's impossible to say how much tuition will go to retirement

costs. "the times" says it could be tens of millions of dollars. this was a welcome sight in key west following hurricane irma. the empress of the seas carrying 780 passengers. the first since the storm hit. key west mayor was there to welcome each guest to the island. in addition to the port, key west international airport reopened for commercial service. the storm caused varying degrees of damage along the 125-mile florida keys island change, key west and the northern most island of key largo escaped major damage. good monday morning. starting out with cool conditions. that's a good thing because, once again, we will be on the warm side this afternoon. in fact, numbers will be above average. yesterday 70s at the coast. 57 in mt. view. 56 in concord. 49 in santa rosa. so today we are looking at numbers around 80 in the city and 74 half moon bay.

truck. i know we had that b.a.r.t. weekend closure, the warm springs station was closed friday night into early this morning. it is back open for service today. we do have another closure this weekend but once again they will provide a free bus to fremont station. all right. happening today the city of san francisco is kicking off transit week. a celebration of public transit and all those who ride it. officials will be on the steps of city hall to show their support for affordable and efficient transit services. there will be daily events and giveaways all this week including a transit trivia night and riding the ferry to jack london square. organizers want riders to share how they think public transportation can be improves. thanks, alexis. an amazing cause by a stunning actress, the way she wants to turn unmentionables into something to talk about starting today. and have you ever seen anything more adorable than this? the reason this threw one toddler for a loop. and just in to the live

experience to deal with north korea. nine african-american teenagers were escorted by federal troops into an all-white high school in arkansas. the little rock nine had to deal with an angry mob that day and faced constant verbal and physical harassment. the eight surviving members of the little rock nine will speak at a commemoration ceremony today. former president bill clinton will deliver the keynote address. police a man arrested near the white house had a car full of weapons. officials say the suspect was stopped for allegedly urinating in public. in his car officers found nine gloves, brass knuckles and various types of ammunition. he told the secret service he was going to speak with defense secretary james mattis and mike rodgers saying he wanted some advice on missing paychecks and how to get the chip out of his head. former congressman anthony

weiner is set to be sentenced for sexting with a 15-year-old girl from north carolina. the 53-year-old has pled guilty to transmitting sexual material to a minor. he can go to prison for up to 27 months according to his plea deal. well, happening today, modern family star sofia vergara is using her fame for a good cause launching a new subscription based underwear company. 10% of the sales will go to a nonprofit that helps women with micro financing to become entrepreneurs. each pair are affordable, costs around $15. take a look at a stunning sight, the northern lights as seen by as troe nauts inside the international space station. these images taken yesterday just gorgeous. it happens when electrically charged particles from the sun enter the earth's atmosphere and collide with gases. all you need to know it just looks gorgeous. we'll check in with lisa

argen with a look at your forecast. hi, lisa. >> hi, matt. good morning, matt. i'm going to say it again and again. i felt like i ignored you. i wouldn't do that. we are looking at fog free conditions and that's going to allow for a good warm-up around the bay area. santa cruz right now. temperatures in the 40s, 59 in san francisco, 57 in mountain view. it's 50 in gilroy as we look live outside the east bay hills camera. 53 by the delta and 56 in concord. so we're looking at another quick warm-up today with the red flag warning for our north and east bay hills. temperatures will rise through thursday, and then slightly cooler by the end of the week. a red flag warning here in the highlighted areas with gusty winds, relative humidity. could be below 20% and looking at those winds may be over 25 miles an hour. in the south bay today 89 in santa clara. a look at the low 80s arrive in redwood city 3:00 this afternoon. about 80 in downtown san francisco and in the north bay

upper 80s for santa rosa. 86 vallejo. 82 in san leandro and you head inland it's even warmer looking at numbers from the mid-80s to even some 90s out there. so the good news is the atmosphere so dry, we'll cool off quickly. the accuweather seven-day forecast featuring warmer weather into tuesday and wednesday. a repeat on thursday with near 80 degrees at our coast and then when the sea breeze returns it's not going to cool us off all that much. if you're a lover of the heat, that's good news. really good advice to be careful out there. things are so dry. everybody loves to go out and hike and enjoy the outdoors. tinder dry brush is just waiting to spread a fire. >> oh, my goodness. i'm one of those who does not love the heat. i'm not loving your long-term forecast, lisa, but oh, well. taking a look at the roads this morning, nothing major. in fact, i have some good news here on the peninsula.

northbound 101 before you get to university and east palo alto. a solo vehicle collision. somebody lost control, spun out and hit the center divide. the tow truck arrived on the scene, minor injuries and everything is all clear at this point. a quick look outside, here is golden gate bridge and the zipper trucks out doing their thing this morning so widening that southbound drive from the north bay and overall we're not seeing any major delays. if i had to pick one slow spot, you know where it is out of tracy. we'll take a closer look at that up next. thanks, alexis. a group of girls got quite a surprise when riding in an elevator in las vegas. >> no! oh, my gosh. wow. >> oh, my gosh! >> yep. imagine your childhood walking in on you while twerking for snap chat. bill nye the science guy.

the retailer looking for cashiers, workers to restock stores and beauty consultants to work at in-store sephora shops. they will hold a nationwide job fair in its 875 stores to fill the available positions. the city of concord is teaming up with other local cities to try to bring amazon's new headquarters here to the bay area. according to our media partner the east bay times concord has the land. but it believes regional partnership will help fulfill other requirements like access to transit and local universities. the partnership includes san francisco, oakland, richmond, and fremont. amazon is accepting proposals for its second u.s. headquarters through october 19th. a former president barack obama personally warned mark zuckerberg about the extent of fake news on facebook. according to "the washington post" it happened in november after the election during a meeting in lima, peru. at the time the president was told there was no easy fix. according to the newspaper facebook initially discovered elements of the russian

connection to fake news in june 2016 and notified the fbi. however, efforts to address and fix the problem lagged as the company and government struggled to figure out a game plan. good morning to you. starting out with a red flag warning extended to our east bay hills. it was just in the north bay hills tuesday until wednesday. upper elevations of the north and east bay hills will see some breezy winds out of the north and east with low relative humidity, and that increases the chance of fire starts around the bay area. right now it's 49 in santa rosa. 57 in hayward. and with the clear start and cool conditions it'll be a nice morning but that red flag warning, you know it will be hot out there. temperatures will rise throughout the day quickly and right on through thursday. we're going to see some very warm weather. highs today in the 80s around san francisco and oakland. mid-80s in san jose. alexis? okay. so far so good for the monday

morning commute. take you out to the central valley where we have our first red showing up on our traffic maps this morning. 17 miles an hour, 18 miles an hour. nothing blocking but a little heavy as we approach the altamont pass. we'll take a look at some drive times at 5:00. thanks, alexis. not that you need a reason to crawl back under the covers but listen to this, new research confirms shorter sleep leads to a shorter life. and not only that sleep deppry vision can increase cancer, heart attack, diabetes, and alzheimer's. adults who sleep less than six hours a night are 200% more likely to have a heart attack or stroke in their lifetime. this new study was conducted by matthew walker, the director of the service for sleep science at berkeley. world health organization recommends eight hours of sleep each night. as we look at each other wondering what we're doing. >> what are you supposed to do

we're talking warmer weather. temperatures were warm yesterday but we're going to add on a few degrees. no fog to speak of and current numbers are cool in the north bay. 45 in napa. 58 in san jose. that's what we like to start the day. throughout the afternoon from noon to 6:00 in our north and east bay hills this is the highest threat of perhaps starting fires. that's why the national weather service issued a red flag warning for those areas through wednesday. so 60s and 70s by noontime. upper 80s inland. 70s at our beaches today. alexis? checking out the roads, no major problems so far today. looking at some really quiet volumes here, light volumes on 101 and 880 in san jose. a quick check of drive times. overall looking good, too. to the maze at 17. about eight across the bay bridge. i am just hearing about a new crash there, though, north of the airport. we'll take
