why, a stand off with a murder suspect that ended in gunfire after the suspect stepped out of his car and pointed a gun at police. his car stopped west of emery vil. >> a live look at interstate 80 where you can see traffic accident moving on both sides, westbound smooth again, eastbound, the one on the left that is tight because of the normal commute. we did not see traffic moving earlier today. >> let's go live to abc news cornell live. >> reporter: westbound lanes reopened tonight after a long closure. sky 7 was over the freeway a short time ago at 5:00 p.m. as crews toed will be the the president's black suv. took an hour and a half to move everything blocked the lanes and freeway.

by 5:30 all lanes were cleared again. now a shooting investigation is just beginning. moatrists took cover when a gun battle began between police and an armed suspect on interstate 80. >> i was in my car and i heard the gun shots, i stayed there. >> reporter: sky 7 was over the tense stand off mere the maize. a man driving a black sufficient refusing to vaersurrender, poli say he was wanted from fair filed. richa richmond police assisted in trying to get the vehicle to stop. >> the car they were chasing started to lose, it had flas tires. >> reporter: what's when negotiation began, police keeping their distance with guns drawn. >> we don't know who fired first.

the incident in the street was not the only issue for drivers. around 7:00 a.m. a crash on i-80. that's to the right of your screen. the driver was okay but traffic slowed in both directions because of this crash. commute problems continuesed off the freeway. the fremont street off ramp from i-80 shut down today. after a bus crashed on to a sidewalk into a building and construction. four people taken to the hospital. jonathan bloom has been on scene this morning and joins us with the latest. >> reporter: for east bay commuter this is theay to downtown san fewranciscoat g an almost for 8 hours today this was close after a transit bus went out of control. now that the sidewalk is finally open we can see the damage left behind after that bus. struck three vehicled and kareened down the sidewalk

coming to rest in that construction site.ar eight hour crash workers were still trying to free the bus from the spot where it landed. >> i heard a loud crashing sound. and out the corner of my eye i saw this bus looking like it was about to flip open. >> reporter: chad preston was among the dozens of the workers who saw it happened and ran over to help. >> the driver was unconscious at that time but came to later. >> reporter: police say that driver was one of five people taken to the hospital with nonlife things injuries. >> the operator of one of our buses lost control. the operate then struck two passenger cars and a mini van. >> reporter: that kentucaccount two injuries then it struck another busch. >> both coaches were going to the transit. >> reporter: it could have been worse if it happened earlier. at 9:22 there were fewer

ante-i believe push alerts. one person killed this afternoon and another injured in a rock wall from yosemate. this video is from peter who was climbing when it happened before 2:00 this afternoon. a park spokesman says the rock fall nears to be near the water fall route. a helicopter was flown to survey the scene and search for injured climbers. this is right in the middle of climbing season in yosemate. one witness says there were 30 climbing parties there when this happened. the parks remains open and visitor services are not affected. new at 6:00, the teenager who live streamed a crash who killed her younger sister will stand trial. prosecutors say 18-year-old abdul ya sanchez was driving with her 14-year-old sister and another girl in july when she lost control of the car.

sanchez's sister jacqueline was killed, the other passenger was hurt. a alcohol analyst says sanchez's blood alcohol concentration was about .09. but the blood will be retested because the officer admitted writing down the wrong name of the person giving the blood. >> they're going to do an analyst of my client's dna based off the swab. we'll have an answer to that as soon as they're done. >> prosecutors say sanchez could face endanger management charges when she's back in court next week. fire in oakland two men entered not guilty pleas today. they each faced 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter for last year's inferno. >> prosecution has chose to indict and charge two young men who are artists, poor and without no money. trying to hang responsibility over what was a deficient

structure and the owner's responsibility trying to hang that on matt harris and derrick and that's unfair. >> the attorney was responding to reports that the landlord of the ghost ship is set to collect more than $3 million in insurance payments. bay area news says she has already received more than $670,000 in insurance money. new at 6:00, a child in critical condition after being hit by a car in richmond today. it happened this afternoon at 27th street and mcdonald avenue and that's where abc 7 news eric is live. we understand you just got pictures of the car police are looking for? >> reporter: yeah, richmond police did share pictures of photos of the vehicle involved. it is a red smart car with a black top. police say before noon that car was driving on mcdonald at 27 where the child briefly slipped away from his mom who was trying

to put him in their car and that child was struck. the 3-year-old was air lifted to the hospital in extremely critical condition. >> we are asking the public to help us out on this one. this is a 3-year-old child, it really kind of hits us pretty good, so. >> repr:teorol driver just stayed here they could have talked about what happened. they believe it was an accident but by leaving the scene that person may leave himself or herself open to a felony. they're still asking the person to call them and turn themselves in. absent that, they are asking anyone who may have seen the accident, who got a license plate or any other identifying information to call richmond police. again the 3-year-old boy is in intreatmently critical condition and had to be air lifted from the scene here to the hospital. live in richmond, eric thomas, abc 7 nows. >> thank you. the group known as patriot

the stabbing of a police officer as to the airport's concerns over a growing homeless population there. abc 7 knew's reporter vick lee live with more. >> reporter: as the numbers of travellers grow here at sfo so have the number of homeless

people and that presents a serious challenge to airport authorities. the officer fought off his attacker who was armed with a knife here at this baggage carousel this afternoon. the officer who asked his name not be used, was taken to san francisco hospital after being slashed and stabbed several times. the officer was able to arres t 64-year-old do recess johnston. sources say he was a transient hanging around the airport. sfo has encountered a growing number of homeless people. >> on average we see about a dozen homeless people per day here at the airport that we're making contact with. >> reporter: many come on the last bart train at 1:00 a.m. the airport is a safe warm place to spend the night. they're often greeted by offers at the platform. >> we do meet the last bart

train in and there's little reason to be at the airport unless you're a ticketed passenger. >> reporter: they offer several rides. >> we use san trans toke kens to get them on the public transportation. >> reporter: airport officers with transport tm t homeless shelter at san matteo. >> we work at san matteo health to get them to a area for jobs what ever they can do. >> reporter: abc has established a working group with the peninsula. they hope by the end of year to have advocates working full time to offer direct help to the homeless. that fire in the oakland hills is now 80% contained, fire officials believe they identified where it started. fire officials tell abc 7 news they've isolated a construction zone where they think the fire started yesterday.

at one point it grow to 20 acres and affected 80 homes. no homes were damaged, no one was hurt. investigators say they don't know what caused the fire but it looks suspicious. the search is on for the owner of a dog who decided to give chase on bart track. let's take a close look at this now. there's the dog right there. this dog ran as bart crews approached it this morning at the oakland coliseum station. that led to delays and prouded platforms that you see in this tweet. power to the third rail had to be shut off while capture of the dog. another passenger spotted the pooch later. it was finally caught an hour later after the officer spoke softly and the dog approached her. the dog is fine.
