tonight, police are asking for anyone who saw the shooting to come forward with what they know. abc 7 news reporter katy utis is live with the latest developments. katy? >> reporter: police say that the shooting all began with a homicide case out of fairfield. and the video we're about to show you is crucial evidence along with other videos that police are asking people to bring forward. police are interviewing more than 40 morning commuters who witnessed a deadly officer involved shooting. they were stopped in both directions around 9:00. one driver recorded this video, as officers from the fairfield and richmond police departments shot a man suspected in a 2015 killing. since the shooting happened in emoryville, that department is the lead investigating agency. >> if you look at the video that's available on social media, it looks like he has a weapon in his hand. >> reporter: the initial

homicide case is out of fairfield. richmond police tried to pull the suspect over this morning. he sped away. so chptr before the macarthur maze. >> it had flat tires, so it was starting to lose the tire then the traffic stopped. >> reporter: officers talked with the driver on the phone before he got out. >> what i do know when he exited the vehicle, he did fire a shot at our officers. >> we're still trying to determine which officers were s how many. >> reporter: east 80 reopened around 11:00. but westbound remained closed until 5:00 in the evening. they'll release the name of man involved once his next of kin has been notified. abc 7 news. another commute issue in san francisco where the fremont street from westbound 80 was shut down for hours. an ac transit bus driver lost control, hit another bus, then drove onto the sidewalk and into a building under construction. four people were taken to the hospital with

nonlife-threatening injuries. surveillance photos could be key in capturing a driver who ran down a 3-year-old child in richmond and then drove away. the child is in critical condition right now. you see the pictures here showing the red smart car involved. police say the boy was hit after he slipped away from his mom who was tryin to their car. sky map 7 shows us where it happened on mcdonald avenue and 27th street around 11:30 this morning. bay area residents from puerto rico are coming together and asking for your help, too. one week after hurricane maria hit, people in puerto rico are in desperate need of food and water. it's really dire. puerto ricans formed a group, holding a donation drive this saturday at oakland to support hurricane mariavi cti peo. msple in the

really, as we head towards tomorrow, we're going to continue to see the wind coming off the ocean. so last couple of days in the hills, the wind has been out of the north-northeast, including today, which is why we warmed up well above average. but that is already starting to switch. and so by morning, it is going to feel better. here's a look at your forecast. as you take a look at the planner, tomorrow morning fog near the beaches. by the afternoon, it's pretty mild. low 60s to the upper 70s. as we head into 3:00, cooler, breezy. you will notice and feel the difference. if it's been too dry, your sinuses have been suffering, your hands are too dry, the humidity will be coming up, so hang in there. you can see how beautiful san francisco looks tonight. another live picture from our mount tam camera in the city by the bay. here are your temperatures. it is 71 right now in san francisco. still pretty warm. but you look at half moon bay and it's 55 degrees. east bay hills camera, looking back across the bay.
