breaking news in san jose where a young boy was stabbed at a high school. sky7 giving us a live look at that scene. right now police are trying to figure out the ve thanks for joining us. we've just learned from police they haveernne custody. we're live at the high school with more on the breaking news. >> reporter: reggie, a lot of nervous parents here. we're seeing them walk in to the school, wanting to pull their child out of the school because they don't know what happened. they're just finding out.

what we know right now is one juvenile has been arrested, that juvenile is a non-student that came on to the campus and stabbed a student. that happened all at 9:00 this morning here at the high school in east san jose. let's go to a view from sky7 so you can see what's going on here at theigat h neahr cunningham havenue and king roa. san jose police are here on campus. it is not an lockdown, it is still a shelter in place because police are collecting evidence. we're not sure if a weapon -- if a knife has been recovered yet, but basically what we've been told is that at 9:00 a.m., a non-student came on to the campus behind the gymnasium area. it looks like this might be a little off campus. it's unclear but that juvenile

apparently stabbed a student and it was witnessed by other students and staff members. they intervened. that's what we're told by the superintendent and san jose police immediately responded and took that juvenile into custody. they are not giving us ages but te u the victim was taken to the medical center and suffering from non-life threatening injuries. a lot of police activity is still going on here. they're interviewing students and parents are still just really worried, trying to find out how could something like this happen. we'll continue to follow up on this and give you updates later in the evening newscast. this morning people in one san leandro neighborhood are finding out there was little they or firefighters could do to save two people from a fire. sky7 shows you just how badly this mobile home was burned this morning. it was just too dangerous to make a rescue.

abc 7 news reporters amy hollyfield is live with more. >> reporter: good morning, reggie. a family friend pointed out that the person who lived here was a heavy smoker. he is wondering if this was sbr cigarette related. heavy police presence. we've even seen a couple of atf agents. we're told don't read too much into that. they do mott suspect foul play. the atf agent is just part of their investigative task force. they just want to be very thorough because two people died here. the neighbor across the street said the bright light coming from this fire woke him up. he came outside and saw the size of the fire and realized there was nothing he could do. he called 911, then took this cell phone video. when firefighters arrhi teds wap but said they just couldn't get inside. >> we made our best efforts to try toet gs possible but like i said, when

units first got on scene there was fire. this was a fully involved structure fire coming out of every window and door. >> reporter: once inside they found the bodies of a man and woman. >> i know her. i know her husband. i knew her mom and dad. >> reporter:id salcido rushed to the home in the mission bayeeailrdob m thee. years old. >> she was very kind. she got along with everybody. she loved everybody. she always greeted everybody with a hug even if she didn't know them. >> reporter: salcido says this isn't the first time fire has tragically struck this family. >>er in a mobile home fire, too. yeah. long time ago. he was only like 9 years old. >> reporter: fire investigators aren't sure why the couple couldn't get out in time. they are also still looking for the cause while they comb through the home, salcido is

facing the loss. >> i feel kind of guilty because i haven't been in touch with them for a while and i just thought of them yesterday. new this morning -- concord police are investigating ash cre destrian. this happened around 4:00 this morning on kirker pass road near olive drive. police tell us the victim is a woman but have not released her name. driver who hit her stayed on the scene and is cooperating. a former santa clara county pro days counselor is under arrest after being accused of having sex with two teenage boys. she was taken into custody at her home in santa cruz county this morning. the 36-year-old is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old and 18-year-old inmate. one of them came forward last september. the department immediately placed caparra on administrative leave before she resigned in july. a statement was issued, "the department is appalled.

this employee violated the trust placed in our department. this will not be tolerated." new developments in the search for a hit andldun rri i condition. you are looking at surveillance images of the suspect's car around the time of the crash yesterday in richmond. now police tell us they spotted what they believe to be this car around 7:30 this richmond police are now questioning that driver and they have towed the car to search it for evidence. the victim is identified as a 3-year-old boy. police haven't released his name but they did share this picture from the family. they say he was hit after slipping away from his mom who was trying to put him into her car. happening today, a south bay mom will hold a news conference to answer questions about the multi-million dollar settlement she's set to receive from the city of santa clara. she says she broke her leg when police stormed her house without a warrant.

abc 7 just spoke to her. >> reporter: reggie, this is a big settlement and it happened relatively quickly. police chief said he was surprised it happened so quickly. just 17 months from the time of the incident. we are going to show you some of the body cam video from the officers on that day in april of last year. we want to warn you though, that it can be considered disturbing to some. >> you are not allowed to come in this house! get out! get your hands off me! my leg just broke! my leg just broke! my leg just broke! >> this video from april of last year. eight days after this woman's 15-year-old daughter was one of the suspects in an arson fire, the santa clara high school snapchat, officers were there to arrest the girl. the video in the video, danielle harman and her attorney filed a federal lawsuit claiming excessive force, home invasion and retaliation that caused her permanent and disabling

injuries. santa clara city attorney says the city's action the settlement. >> what's upsetting for me, the officers acted within t law. especially at this type ofhe settlement. this is a lot of money that's being settled. to not have a day in c frtouor evidence, review all the videotapes, it is upsetting to me. >> reporter: the city attorney said there was significant disagreement about the extent of the injury but there was no dispute she broke her ankle in the course of the entry into the home without a warrant. she an her attorney will hold a press conference later this afternoon in oakland at 1:00. matt keller, abc 7 news. developing news now out of petaluma, police are searching for a stolen car and the suspect involved in an early morning carjacking. police released these photos of

the stolen toyota. a 1997 gold avalon. they say the victim was sitting in her car when the thief demanded the keys. the woman said no and at that point the carjacker acted as if he had a gun, threw the victim to the ground, then drove off. w hethtanom and here is the license plate number. 6gon161. the car has a black front bumper. police say if you see it, call 911, do not approach this carjacking suspect. new details on the deadly rock fall in yosemite. akar p victims are a couple from great britain. a man was killed, a woman seriously injured yesterday when a sheet of rock fell from el capitan 1,800 feet above the floor of yosemite valley. officials say the couple was there to climb but they were not doing so at the time. one experienced climber says he's never seen anything like it. >> i saw a piece of rock, white granite, the size of an

this morning, emeryville police identified a suspect killed in a police shooting on interstate 80. 45-year-old demilo hodge of san leandro. police say he was wanted on homicide charges out of fairfield. fairfield police say they tried to pull hodge over 8:30 yesterday morning when he led them on a chase into the east bay. officials say hodge was stopped in emeryville he shot at officers. they fired back killing him. police are now questioning dozens of drivers who witnessed the shooting and they're asking more to come forward. >> we're still trying to determine how many officers and which officers were involve in
