leemd into the car and made the driver go. you just spoke with police, right? >> we did. and they explained how this all began with a stolen vehicle out of the city of alameda this morning. i talked to the man who had his car stolen just after 6:00 a.m. at a gas station. he is not the only victim in all of this. there's a carjacking victim from the high speed chase. it ended here. >> we were busy inside the shop working. >> employees said they couldn't believe their eyes. it began this afternoon with a suspect behind the wheel of the chevy he ceekequinox. by phone, the driver of the stolen vehicle told abc7 news,

he heard his car had been located and just wanted to get it back. he said he did not know about the high-speed chase. the suspect ditched the stolen car after colliding with this white bmw convertible and climbing into the passenger seat. >> it was only after the vehicle was pulled over and both subjects were taken out of the vehicle that we understood at that time, okay, this is a victim of a carjacking. not a friend of the suspect. >> an employee was in the bmw when he said the suspect jump in the and demanded he surveying the damage to that car, he said he was still shaken up. the hayward police said there were no womens in the carjacking. and they went through lafayette and danville today as well. abc7 news. >> theoakland hills is even slower than usual

this evening. it is all because of this car fire. flames poured through the back seat of the car. crews shut down both northbound lanes. sky 7 flew over san jose when firefighters raced to free a man trapped beneath the lightrail train. the train was headed southbound when it hit the man on mckee road this afternoon. the man is badly hurt. commuters can take shuttle buses to connect with trains. a high school freshman is recovering from stab wounds after he was attacked on campus. police have made two arrests. but the attack at the high school has left students and high school students stunned and scared.

instead of speaking. moments later, the dispatcher heard her crying and screaming before the line was disconnected. that's when the boy kicked the bathroom door down, pulled out a large hunting knife and held her down. fortunately the suspect gave up when police surrounded the hole. officers said the boy did not know the victim. developments that badly hurt a child. police spotted this red car and they've arrested the person they say was behind the wheel. but there is a twist. the victim is a 3-year-old boy. abc7 news eric thomas is live in richmond tonight with the lates. >> the twist is the person who was driving the car when the police pulled it over. the owner of that vehicle is not the person who is under arrest this afternoon. i think everyone has wondered when you drop off your car at the auto repair shop.

well, this is one of those nightmare scenarios. the owner was stopped by the police who turned things over. so detectives questioned the fo dropped it off, after they released it, the cops came to the to check it out. and they returned with the 19-year-old receptionist. after questioningher, placed her ubnder arrest. booked for felony hit and run. the case has not beeiled yet because she was just arrested today. >> so allegedly, borrowed the car and s the accident itse happened about ten blocks away from here. it happened in the 2,700 block of mcdonald. the young child who was injured. the boy reported in critical but
