good morning. i'm diane macedo. >> and i'm gio benitez in for kendis gibson. here are some of the top headlines on this thursday morning. police say the shooter in the las vegas massacre had planned to escape and they believe he may have had some help, but they still don't know what triggered the attack. and his girlfriend insists she had no clue. we have much more straight ahead right here. two weeks after hurricane maria hit, 91% of puerto rico still has no electricity. but power should be restored to a quarter of the island within a month. about 48,000 so-called d.r.e.a.m.ers are facing today's deadline to renew their status as part of the daca program. if they don't renew and congress doesn't take action to protect them, they could begin losing benefits next march. and the wnba crown is back in minnesota. those are just some of our top stories on this thursday, october 5th.

from abc news, this is "world news now." good morning to you all. we begin this half hour with breaking new details out of las vegas. authorities are revealing that the shooter did not plan to die. >> and as we get new video of the mass confusion the killer unleashed at a country music concert, police say the plot was well thought out and they find it hard to believe that he didn't have some kind of help along the way. the fbi is examining items from the hotel room at its lab, looking for fingerprints and dna as they try to determine if there were any accomplices. >> the shooter purchased more than 32 guns in the last year alone and 50 pounds of explosives in his car. without elaborating, they say he intended to survive. >> i believe because of his countermeasures placed in the peephole and in the hallway, he

observed the security guard, and he was in fear that he was about to be breached. so he was doing everything possible to figure out how he could escape at that point. >> and sources confirm to abc news that the gunman also hit nearby fuel tanks as he fired into the crowd, but the bullets did not penetrate or cause an explosion. it's not clear if those tanks were specifically targeted. >> and we're also learning that the shooter had checked into other hotels and may have been looking to target a different festival a week earlier. now the shooter's girlfriend is describing him as a kind and caring man. >> she's being questioned by the fbi after returning from the philippines. but she insists she had no idea he was planning this attack. abc's brian ross has more. >> reporter: just 12 hours after she arrived on a flight from the philippines, the shooter's long-time girlfriend, marilou danley told the fbi according to law enforcement officials that she had no knowledge of his plan or his purchase of so many guns.

her lawyer read her statement after the fbi session ended. >> he never said anything to me or took any action that i was aware of that i understood in any way to be a warning that something horrible like this was going to happen. >> reporter: danley had been paddock's live-in girlfriend for at least three years. he met her when she was a casino hostess. they gambled together, playing video poker and the slots. investigators wanted to know if he went with her to dubai. according to her sisters, no one knows more about paddock. >> no one can put the puzzles together. no one except maybe marilou. >> reporter: the sisters said it was paddock who sent her to the philippines just two weeks before the shooting. >> he sent her away.

>> reporter: authorities are putting together a psychological profile of the shooter, a 64-year-old one-time accountant and irs agent who claimed to be a multi-millionaire. but investigators say a picture is emerging of a man descending into madness, losing weight, diminished physical appearance, what are described as crazy eyes, coupled with easy access to the powerful weapons he began to accumulate more than a year ago, a deadly combination. brian ross, abc news. new york. >> our thanks to brian right there. and marilou danley also acknowledged that her boyfriend wired her tens of thousands of dollars while she was in the philippines. she claims the money was to buy a house for her and her family and she thought he may have been trying to break up wither her. law enforcement sources tell abc news they're not buying her story. the las vegas sheriff is praising the bravery of a security guard who was shot in the leg as he approached the shooter's door at the mandalay bay. jesus campos told police what room he was in, gave them a

passkey and helped them evacuate the floor all the while he was wounded. campos says he was just doing his job. and it was a solemn president trump meeting with first responders and survivors of the attack in las vegas. he said america is truly a make nation in mourning after the massacre. he also spoke of the courage displayed by those who risked their own lives trying to save others. a photographer captured this image right there, you see it, as air force one flew past those broken windows of the mandalay bay hotel where the shooter carried out his attack. rex tillerson says he never considered resigning as secretary of state. that comes in response to a report that says he was talked out of stepping down by vice president pence. that report also claimed that tillerson called president trump a moron after a meeting. tillerson did not deny that to the media. >> i'm not going to deal with petty stuff like that. i'm just not going to be part of this effort to divide this administration.

>> a tillerson spokes woman at the podium was more definitive. she claimed tillerson did want say the president is a moron. presidential adviser kellyanne conway has come under scrutiny for her air travel. elijah cummings is asking conway to provide details from all private, non-commercial and military flights she has taken. revelations surfaced last week that conway joined tom price on some of his questionable flights. conway is the first white house official to be questioned about her air travel. the former ceo of equifax will be back on capitol hill to testify before the senate financial services committee. richard smith has already been grilled by law makers over the past two days about the company's massive data breach. abc's alley rogen has the details. >> reporter: the monopoly man protester sitting behind richard smith set the tone. this was going to be a tough hearing. senators demanding answers. why did the credit monitoring company make money after a

massive data breach over the summer, getting a $7 million contract from the irs to beef up fraud protection. senator john kennedy putting it in pop culture terms. >> you realize, to many americans right now, that looks like we're giving lindsey lohan the keys to the mini bar? >> i understand your point. >> reporter: the paradox, more people sign up for protection services after their data gets compromised. and companies like equifax that collect and sell that data get a cut. >> from 2013 until today, equifax has disclosed at least four separate hacks in which a compromised sensitive personal data. in those four years, has equifax's profit gone up? mr. smith? >> yes, senator. >> reporter: senator elizabeth warren has a bill that would let consumers turn their credit data on and off.

a walmart spokesperson says it has banned suppliers from getting seafood from those plants. and the european union has ordered amazon to pay $295 million in back taxes, claiming that the online retailer had an illegal tax deal in luxembourg. antitrust investigators say lux 'emberg offered tax benefits that were not extended to local companies. both amazon and luxembourg say they may appeal the ruling. the defending nfl champions are now literally flying their colors. >> the patriots have unveiled their new plane, the boeing 767 has been dubbed "air kraft." the team is the first team with their own plane. >> not a bad way to travel. >> it's a cool plane. >> -- defense on it. >> ooh! >> you know. then again, how are the giants doing? >> a slow clap for yourself. that is good.

prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the so-called killer clown case in florida. sheila keen warren is being held without bail after a hearing in west palm beach. investigators say she disguised herself as a clown before shooting and killing maureen warren in 1990. sheila warren moved to virginia and later married the victim's husband. and pennsylvania is facing another fraternity scandal. the fraternity has been suspended. the move came after a student suspected of drinking was found on a local street unconscious.

penn state fraternities have been under a social ban since tim piazza died in february after a night of drinking during a hazing ritual. police reports are shedding more light on a hazing death at lsu. >> investigators believe the max gruver may have been forced to drench so much that it killed him. lsu police say text messages are at the center of the investigation of the alleged hazing death of 18-year-old pledge max gruver. >> you're supposed to be a club full of friends and people who have life-lasting relationships. why did his life have to end so early? >> max and other pledges received a group text telling them to attend bible study at the frat house. that was code for question and answer session. wrong answers meant more alcohol. according to several witnesses, the pledges were forced to drink in excess. police sigh sometime after midnight, gruver was highly intoxicated and was placed on the couch. but it wasn't until 11 hours later that someone went to check

on him that they could not tell if he was breathing. that's when he was rushed to the hospital. an autopsy report that he had a highly elevated block alcohol level and the presence of thc, a chemical found in marijuana. it comes as members of a penn state fraternity face charges after the death of tim piazza who fell down the stairs after a night of drinking and hazing. fraternity members waiting 12 hours to call 911. and lsu is suspending that fraternity on campus, but its charter has been revoked by phi delta theta's national organization, which means it's been shut down. >> investigators are looking into lots of different angles. they say there might be videotape in the house that might shed light, a little more light on what happened. and they seized a duffle bag of beer scans cans, a bottle of licker and a glass smoking pipe from the house. >> there's a lot of similarities to the tim piazza case. so they're certainly going to be looking at that. they've been trying to draw attention to this issue nationwide. because clearly it's happening all over the place.

the wind is just whipping around. we're seeing branches, pieces of trees come from the sky. obviously, trees aren't up there, which means that a lot of these trees are sort of whipping around and coming around like that. that's exactly why we evacuated. whoa! we feared -- these winds are really intense. you can see this whiteout thing, this whiteout condition that amy was talking about. just look at that. i don't think i ever would have described a hurricane and sort of compared it to a blizzard. that's what this looks like here. and it's really remarkable. i actually brought my mother to this building here, because i knew this would be much more secure than the house that -- i she was staying at. you've seen those pictures of those homes over in key west as the construction of those homes is very, very different than what you'll find here in miami. i don't know if those homes have been tested for winds that strong. and that, that's frightening.

i have some family there, and they chose not to leave, george, and sorry. that was you could having hurricane irma. >> what was it like for you to be in that area? to be from that area and watching it. >> it was tough, not knowing what was happening in the keys. nobody had communications. my family was there, but thankfully everybody's okay. but we also covered right before that, texas, and it was incredible to see the american spirit in action on full display when we saw these people coming together from all over the place, with their little boats, and they were just bringing their own fuel, paying for this and picking people up and helping them. unbelievable to see. >> thanks, gio, that's the news for this half hour.

>> a good thursday morning to you all. a big welcome to you, gio in for kendis. thanks for filling in for us. >> thank you. thank you, thank you, thank you. good to be here, thank you. slow clap, there you go. >> slow clap, and we do have a lot of news to get to. breaking new details on the las vegas shooting rampage. >> police now say there's evidence that the shooter had planned to escape. they believe he may have had help at some point, and they're searching for possible accomplices. the number of injured has been updated to 489 and more than 300 have been discharged from the hospital. >> and the killer's girlfriend says she had month idea he was planning this attack, but law enforcement sources tell abc news they're not buying her story. officials say the shooter checked into other nearby hotels and may have been looking to target a different festival a week earlier. and we're getting heart wrenching new details of the concert goers pouring out of the venue and running for their lives. lana zak joins us now with the details.

>> good morning to you, gio and diane. the big headline coming out of las vegas this had morning right now is that idea from investigators that he had, in fact, planned to escape after creating the deadliest mass shooting in modern american history. this newly-released video shows the harrowing moments following the deadly las vegas shooting. victims being led into a vehicle before it speeds off to the hospital. the clock ticking away. the grim reality on display as we hear from the shooter's girlfriend. >> i am devastate the by the deaths and injuries that have occurred. >> reporter: these are the first public words of marilou danley read by her attorney. >> it never occurred to me whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone. >> reporter: she says when stephen paddock sent her to the philippines and wired her money she worried he was breaking up with her. but in reality, he had something

truly evil planned. >> stephen paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and living a secret life, much of which will never be understood. >> reporter: authorities say he checked into multiple hotels with rooms overlooking the concert and they now believe that he planned to escape. ♪ amazing grace >> reporter: meanwhile, the community, survivors and loved ones of the victims are all trying to heal. >> there is no ocean that can hold these tears. and there's no fix for my broken heart. >> reporter: as the president offered these words of comfort. >> we stand together to help you carry your pain. you're not alone. >> reporter: and for the first time, we are learning the identity of that hero security guard, the one who first encountered the shooter. his name jesus campos. and authorities say that even after he himself was shot, he continued to assist police until finally, they said he needed treatment for his wounds.

gio, diane? >> just incredible. and do we know what the shooter was doing in the hours before the shooting? >> reporter: i have to tell you, part of what's so disturbing about it is it appeared it was any other day in las vegas. he spent eight hours at the mandalay bay hotel and casino, gambling. that was party of his regular routine here in vegas, and for him, he spent that time just doing what he had always done before doing something so horribly evil. >> unbelievable someone could just go about their day and pull off something like this. lana zak live in las vegas thank you. and the fbi is examining cameras and other evidence from the shooter's hotel room looking for fingerprints, dna, any sign of an accomplice. >> theater. we're going to turn now to former fbi agent and abc consultant steve gomez. what do you make of the new findings, that the shooter just visited other locations and that he may have had some help? >> well, visiting other locations fits with what appears

to have happened with the mandalay bay, because the ogden location that he had visited was during the period when his girlfriend had left. so if he wanted her away, this was within that time frame and the potential that he was going to make that attack during that period of time and maybe something stopped him, whatever it was. security, it wasn't a big enough target. so that will definitely be looked at as to what may have stopped him from committing the attack at that time and chose with the mandalay bay and the country music festival. >> the girlfriend was away. she says she had no idea this was being planned, that it was happening, and investigators don't buy her story, why not? >> first of all, she has an attorney with her. and the investigators, i think, went to great lengths to make her comfortable. she flew in last night. she then did the interview today. she had a good night's sleep.

so they did everything they could to make her feel at home with some comfort, recognizing this is a stressful situation. there's a certain point during the interview if you aren't getting the kind of detail you would expect from someone living with an individual such as this suspect, you start to wonder what is going on with the the person you're interviewing, in this case the girlfriend. is she minimizing? is she basically hiding certain details? is she trying to give you a general response but not the kind of details you need? that, i think, is what's causing apprehension on the part of investigators. >> yeah. because we know he had 42 weapons. steve, there are reports that he shot aviation fuel tanks. is there any indication that was on purpose? or what does that tell you? >> well, it sounds like the fuel tanks were in the line of sight from where he was positioned on the perch in his sniper position, looking towards the country music festival where the

crowd was, and then also you have the tanks there. so they're definitely going to have to look at the forensics of the shots that were all fired. not only into the crowd but also with the fuel tanks to try to figure out, was there a pattern? did he start shooting at the fuel tanks and then went to the crowd? did he start with the crowd and then the fuel tanks? was it just random shots fired? this is something that they're going to look at during the investigation to try to figure out is that part of what he was trying to accomplish both killing the people and trying to blow up the fuel tanks. >> and steve, i want to ask you about the security guard. it sounds like this guy was a real hero. how critical do you think he was in bringing down the shooter? >> i think this is the best story of this whole tragic situation. is the fact that this individual, this security officer, jesus campos, you know, went on his own, approached the room and basically distracted the suspect from what he was doing, what his plan of attack was. and that probably, from what we can tell, based on the timeline

that's been described to us, that happened around 10:13 p.m. and at that point, there were only about another minute or two of shots fired and then that was it. and we don't know exactly when the suspect killed himself, but it does look like after the security officer came, then the shots pretty much ended. that might have saved many lives, hundreds if not more than that. >> he put his own life on the line to do it. all right, steve gomez, former fbi agent and our own correspondent here. thank you so much, steve. and we're also following breaking news now. the deaths of three american commandos overseas. they were army green berets in niger. >> they were likely attacked by al qaeda operatives active in the area. two other americans were wounded but are in stable condition. there are about 400 military members in niger helping african forces against extremist militants. and the state department is

denying a report that secretary of state tillerson once called president trump a moron. he reportedly said that after a national security meeting in july and was on the verge of resigning. in a rare statement to reporters, tillerson said he never considered resigning and denies that vice president pence had to persuade him to stay. tillerson did not fatly deny calling the president a moron, but his spokes woman says tillerson never said that. and diane, if you can believe it, a new tropical depression is brewing and is on track to make landfall on sunday. it is set to pass over nicaragua and honduras, bringing flash floods and mudslides and expected to move into the gulf of mexico by friday. the current models show it making landfall between mobile and tallahassee as a weak category one hurricane. and an immigrant from afghanistan is now the youngest woman to fly solo around the world.

couldn't bring myself to do it. >> reporter: rebecca pleading her case before a judge saying she and her husband had agreed to space out and suspend their son's vaccines. >> we've always shared the same beliefs on vaccinations until recently. >> reporter: the judge saying that boy will be vaccinated while brado is in jail. >> ma'am, i'm going to stop you. because the truth matters. i understand you love your children. but what i don't think you understand is that your son has two parents and dad gets a say. >> reporter: while the state of michigan does allow parents to opt their children out of certain vaccinations, both parents must agree. the american academy of pediatrics say vaccines are safe, vaccines are effective, vaccines save lives. the brado anticipation ex-husband was granted temporary custody of their son while she serves her jail sentence. she's expected to be back in court next week. erielle reshef, abc news, new york. >> thank you so much. and, you know, for so many years we've heard this debate whether vaccines are safe or not, so i can understand parents having

that concern. but, i mean, this is probably one of the first cases we've seen. >> the american medical association urges parents to vaccinate on the recommended schedule, but states do have options in place. some opt out for religious reasons or personal reasons. this case is complicated, because you have two parents who disagree on what's supposed to happen. so many people will be watching it. it could set a legal precedence. so we'll have to see. coming up in the next half hour, we will hear from a passenger who was dragged off a flight after an incident with the flight staff. the passenger now tells abc news that it was the staff that escalated the situation. but first, victims reunited with their heros in las vegas. more stories of survival and bravery next right here on "world news now."

she posted this photo and his relatives saw it. he's been reunited with his mother. >> reporter: and we walked into that room at desert springs hospital medical center here in las vegas where shelton mack is recovering. he was at the concert for his 21st birthday. >> i just keep seeing it in my mind still and it just haunts me. >> reporter: you see it all playing out.? >> yeah. >> reporter: he told me about the man who he says saved his life. >> some hero come saved me. >> reporter: that hero holding his finger to the bullet wound helping him and never leaving his side. the guy who was by your side, you haven't been able to find out where he is, who he is? >> yeah, i need to. i wouldn't be here at least. but yeah, i really appreciate all he's done for me. >> reporter: that's a pretty good tradeoff. sheldon's parents telling us they want to meet that hero.

>> he's an angel and saved him. we'd love to find that fellow. apparently he was shot in the leg, as well. >> reporter: it turns out, friends of the hero were watching the news. jimmy grover, a 25-year-old paramedic from orange county, california, was here in las vegas visiting. and today he paid another visit, walking into that room on crutches. jimmy revealing he knew sheldon was in trouble after be being shot in the arm and then the bullet piercing the abdomen as well, and he rode with him in a truck all the way to the er. sheldon's mom grateful. and afterwards, there was one more reunion in that same room. eric frazier, the marine vet he who drove both jimmy and sheldon to the hospital, it turns out that marine vet rushed a dozen victims to the er that night. the survivors' family and the heroes' family, all together after the horror. >> great picture to end this with. the firefighters union actually says 12 off-duty firefighters were at the festival and two were shot, two were shot giving cpr to other people.

this morning on "world news now," new details emerging in the aftermath of the las vegas massacre. authorities are now searching for possible accomplices. they say the killer may have tried to escape. this as his girlfriend is grilled by the fbi. our expert is standing by. president trump in las vegas. the first time he has had to visit the scene of a mass shooting, comforting survivors and praising the work of so many, especially doctors and first responders. and new this half hour, a woman kicked off a southwest flight opens up to abc news about what she says really happened. hear what she says she told the flight staff about having dogs on board and why things then got out of control. and later in "the skinny," we have the big news from bachelor land, a spin-off involving sports and romance and competitors going for the gold and each other's hearts. it's thursday, october 5th.

from abc news, this is "world news now." we begin with breaking news. three american service members have been killed in action in africa. officials say the army green berets died being ambushed while on a patrol in geiger. >> 400 u.s. personnel are in niger. helping local forces battle extremists. >> and we're learning more about the las vegas shooter, his arsenal and his actions leading up to the horrific attack. >> newly-released video captured the sheer horror and panic as the crowd bolted from the convert venue. you can see the injured falling to the ground right there during the ten-minutes of gunfire. police say they have evidence that the shooter had actually planned to escape and that there was no suicide note in his hotel room. >> they're also trying to figure out if he had any help. matt gutman has more on the

preparation that went into the attack and the security guard who took a bullet trying to stop it. >> reporter: police body cameras video showing officers risking their own lives amid unceasing gunfire. >> hey, you guys, get down! go that way! get out of here! there's gunshots coming from over there, go that way! >> reporter: with sirens blaring and bullets flying, officers huddle behind a wall, trying to pinpoint the source of the mayhem. >> the mandalay bay out of a window. >> reporter: exhibiting extraordinary calm, those officers directing concert-goers away from the shooting to safety. >> this way, this way, this way. go, go, go, go, go, go, that way, that way, that way, that way! >> reporter: it would be an hour before s.w.a.t. teams breached stephen paddock's luxury suite. he'd been holed up in that arsenal, 23 guns in all. these photos revealing the destructive power. this assault rifle one of 12 outfitted with a bump stock. it allows it to fire continuously, like an automatic weapon. this video demonstrating how it works.

on the tip of the rifle, a flash hider, making its fiery blast difficult to spot. and in the corner a pile of 17 magazines holding 100 rounds each. you're looking at 1,700 bullets. paddock also installing his own surveillance cameras. one on the cart and on the peephole, all rigged so he could see police approaching. and now we're learning he spotted a hotel security guard. >> he was advancing towards the room when the suspect fired through the door at the security guard and struck him. >> reporter: that security guard identity as jesus campos is called a hero. somehow he was able to get away and tell the tactical team that paddock was in room 135. an hour later, they breach the door -- >> breach, breach, breach. >> -- and discover him already dead. federal law enforcement sources telling abc news they're investigating reports that the day before the massacre, he checked into multiple hotels

overlooking the concert venue, and he may have looked for other opportunities. police revealing he rented a room in this building, right next to another music festival happening just the week before. and from this perch, he would have had a clear field of fire right down into those tens of thousands of people packed into that concert below. but for some reason, he didn't pursue the plan. instead, he waited a week for the harvest festival. matt gutman, abc news, las vegas. >> all right, matt, thank you. and police also recovered 50 pounds of explosives in the gunman's car and another 1,600 rounds of ammunition. >> we have an update on the hero security guard as well. jesus campos tells abc news he is fine and was just doing his job. and of course he did more than that. what an incredible guy. meanwhile, the shooter's girlfriend says she is devastated by the attack and did not know he was planning it. marilou danley sat down with the

fbi agents after returning from the philippines. she describes her boyfriend as a kind and caring guy saying that she was hoping for a quiet future with him. she acknowledged through her lawyer that she received money that he sent to the philippines, possibly $100,000. authorities say the shooter was recently seen with another woman. they're trying to track her down to see if there was an actual relationship and if she might be relevant to the investigation. >> and she thought that money was actually to buy a house in the philippines for her family. that's where her lawyer says. let's break down the latest developments with abc news consultant and former fbi special agent steve gomez. >> steve, we knew he had this massive arsenal of guns. now they find explosives in his car. any leads on what his plans were for those? >> so the fact that it was in the car, which is down below at the bottom, and he's up in the 32nd floor, shooting, killing people, it makes you wonder why were those explosives in the vehicle? was he planning on shooting for a while and then trying to get down to his vehicle and going to what would be a phase two of th?

using the explosives somehow? that is definitely something that has to be examined. and when the sheriff talked about his thought process of escaping, that might lend credence to that, the fact of those explosives being in that vehicle. >> and steve, why do you think investigators believe he planned to escape? why didn't he? >> well, it's very interesting. that's a very important question to try to figure out. and what might have happened was he might have gotten so -- saw that he was having such success with the shooting he might not have recognized that he was spending a lot of time doing that, even though it was only roughly about nine and a half, ten minutes. the fact that the security officer came and disrupted his plan, it that might have also thwarted his idea of now stopping and trying to leave, recognizing that there were people there. because after the security officer, two police officers showed up. so then he might have seen that

from the video cameras and recognized that okay, i can't leave now. now i've got to stay here and ultimately, he killed himself. >> now they say they think he had help, but they don't seem to have anyone specific in mind. what do you think is leading them in that direction and how do they pursue that? >> i think the complexity of this attack, the number of firearms, the explosives -- and we're going to have to see if the explosives were actually capable of exploding and doing what he was intending for them to do. it's not easy to build these explosives. and there are instructions out there, but the fact that he had these explosives, unless he's some kind of expert, which we have no indication to indicate that, then it's very plausible there was someone helping him. also, you have so much information with regard to where he was going, you know, various different hotels and his movements. you almost -- you almost think that there had to been somebody else that was basically his partner in crime in this situation. >> all right, if that person is out there, we certainly hope investigators find them soon. sounds like it they're on the right track. thanks so much.

and president trump says he met some of the most amazing people during his visit there to las vegas. >> while he was there he met with first responders and survivors of the massacre. he called america a nation in mourning since the attack and spoke about the heroism of those who put their own lives at risk to help others. >> some were very, very badly wounded. and they were badly wounded because they refused to leave. they wanted to help others because they saw people going down all over. and it's an incredible thing to tremendous bravery. >> and a photographer captured this image as the president flew back to washington. air force one flying past the broken windows of the mandalay bay hotel. and a new effort is under way in congress, meanwhile, to address bump stocks that you heard matt gutman explaining there. the las vegas gunman used those on several of his rifles. >> bump stocks are used to make a semi-automatic rifle perform like a fully-automatic one. they've been legally sold since 2010. but a new bill from senator

dianne feinstein would ban bump stocks. some powerful republicans say they are open to considering that legislation. now remote areas of puerto rico are trying to recover from hurricane maria, and they're seeing more supplies arrive by air. a blackhawk helicopter delivered 5700 pounds of supplies yesterday. residents still need more food, water, food and medical supplies. according to fema, cell service has been restored to about 12% of the island. two-thirds of grocery and big box stores are open along with 70% of gas stations. five former living presidents are set to appear together at a hurricane relief concert, deep from the heart of one american appeal takes part october 21st at texas a&m university. all proceeds will go to the relief organization established by the presidents last month. and the national league wildcard game definitely lived

up to the wild part of things. >> colorado and arizona combined for 19 runs. two of those runs came off of the big bat and big beard of archie bradley when he smacked his first career triple. arizona wins 11-8, they head to play the l.a. dodgers. coming up, the passenger dragged off a flight tells her side of the story saying the flight crew was at fault and now she's taking legal action. and later, drama on "dancing with the stars" with max apologizing to his partner, vanessa, for sitting out their dance this week. what's really going on? we'll find out in "the skinny." but first, here's a look at today's forecast.
