fema to my checks. >> reporter: she is holding her future in her hands, everything related to her recovery is neatly organized and color coded. sylvia lost her coffey park home in the fire. she lived on hennessey place and is determined to live there again as soon as possible. >> i'm a single mom. i have a son. he needs to know we're going to be okay. >> reporter: the fire destroyed more than 2,800 structures. city leaders plan to cut the red tape to help people rebuild and to create more units in what was already a tight market. >> that day to rebuild the current footprint of their home to get it up as quickly as possible. >> reporter: governor jerry brown issued an executive order suspended planning and zoning requirements as well as state fees for mobile homes and parks. sylvia thinks it will be a year or two.

>> i have to look at the bright side. i lost everything. it's time to start over and i want to rebuild. i wouldn't want to be anywhere else but sonoma county. >> reporter: words to move forward. lilian kim, abc 7 news. evacuation orders were lifted and many returns home for the first time. the work continues for the countless chefs and volunteers with the napa valley volunteer foundation hoping to feed 400 to 800 people in need. >> i think it's just been running on adrenaline and whatever is after adrenaline going nine or ten days straight with little sleep. i don't know how you can sleep when there's something out there happening to your community. something had to be done and this is what we could do. >> and they certainly have been working hard. they have served more than

the santa rosa high school south gym on mendocino avenue in santa rosa. rosa. and you can go to our website abc7news.com. a san francisco police officer is in the intensive care unit after he was critically injured. after he was critically injured. on turk near vanness avenue. the injured office was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. the four-year veteran was patrolling the tenderloin when he was hit. >> everyone is obviously taking it hard. i just spoke with some of the officers from the affected station and everyone right now is having a tough time with this so i asked the public to keep the officer in their prayers. >> the suspect's name has not been released but this is video

of him being arrested. he was being investigated for a firearms violation. san francisco is paying a quarter of a million dollars for security cameras at delores park following a string of violent assaults. the latest was two weeks ago when a 17-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed by a group of 12 people. they took the boy's money, belt, and wallet before running away. the cameras will be installed in the coming week. two full-time park rangers have been assigned to the park which according to reports has reduced trash and vandalism. san francisco is making a new push to make sure people safely get rid of their unwanted, unused expired prescription drugs. a new citywide network of safe disposal kiosks. for years the city was hosting drug takeback days where residents could toss away drugs they didn't want. the key objectiiosks will provi everyday opportunity to do the same thing.

>> the warriors and alameda coliseum authority seem to be heading for a legal battle. the warriors believe they have no obligation to pay any remaining debt on their lease agreement once the team moves to san francisco. the coliseum authority claims the warriors owe $40 million for a bond debt. they have required mediation to resolve the dispute. it will go before an arbitrator if it's not resolved. the coliseum authority plans to discuss the issue tomorrow in a closed session. happening today an annual event, the great california shakeout earthquake drill. that video from an earthquake simulator, people use it to learn to withstand shaking that is pretty severe if the bay area were to be hit with an earthquake. during today's self-led drill elementary school students are encouraged to practice to drop, cover and hold on. google is hosting what it's calling the world's largest

bundle up and then you'll get your warmth back over the week. a look at live doppler 7 out of seattle and portland. you can see some showers there, even moderate showers and some mountain snow for them as the cold front is now coming ashore. look at all that cold air behind that area of low pressure coming out and the freckled nature of the cloud cover. at 7:00 in the morning a lot of us with mist and drizzle. notice some scattered showers in those same areas in northern sonoma county at noon while the rest of us will be mostly cloudy. now more scattered showers across the north bay as we head into the evening commute while the rest of us will have spotty sprinkles. look at the yellow and orange and ukiah and clover dale as we head into the evening commute and that makes it down to about santa rosa by 7:00. the yellows are still there as the storm system moves through the bay area from about 7:00 to 3:00 in the morning. by 9:00 they're mainly confined

to mendocino county and as we head to noon, the rain is just about over. the clouds start to open up. i should say the chance of rain is over. the clouds start to open and you'll need those sunglasses. we have some healthy amounts of rain especially across the north. half inch possible or a third of an inch in ukiah, about a third of an inch, up to 0.2 in the bay to 0.1 in the south bay. a look at temperatures, 50s and 60s for highs friday and then look at the 70s, 80s, and even some 90s by tuesday. alexis? we will take every drop of rain we can get over the next 24 hours or so. you can't see too much of that mist or drizzle. i had my wipers on for most of my commute this morning. a little stackup in the cash lanes but that's about it, 30 minutes before they turn the metering lights on. north bay mass transit we are still looking really good here. a lot of options at this point. smart train full service and
