bumper to bumper, the left lane is the only lane getting by now westbound 80 at san pablo dam road. guys? >> thank you, sue. developing news out of new york in the deadliest terror attack there since 9/ 1. >> at least eight people died after a truck plowed into a crowd. five of those victims were from argentina visiting to celebrate their high school reunion. >> the suspect's home was searched in new jersey and a local mosque. stephanie ramos live in new york this morning. stephanie? >> reporter: good morning. we're just about a block away from where this horrific attack took place. it's hard to see the truck driven by the suspect is just over my right shoulder past the yellow tape down the street. investigators are on the scene trying to piece this together and figure out what was the motive here behind the suspect's attack.

>> police say 29-year-old sayfullo saipov, an uzbekistan immigrant living in paterson, new jersey, deliberately drove a rented home depot truck on a bike and pedestrian path targeting people and running them over. >> this is a mass casualty situation here. >> reporter: his truck eventually colliding with a school bus injuring the two adults and two kids onboard before finally coming to a stop just blocks away from the world trade center memorial. they are now urging the public to share any videos or images that could help in the investigation like this cell phone video that shows the driver limping after getting out of his truck holding what turned out to be two fake guns. witnesses telling abc news he shouted allah akbar before being shot by an officer. and we're learning more. uber confirms avenues driver for the company at one point and

killed, two other people were hurt and taken to the hospital. that crash closed all lanes for several hours. san francisco supervisors approved plans to move hundreds of city workers out of the hall of justice building. it's not up to seismic code. they've had to deal with sewage leaks including one that cost $315,000 to clean up. the city will pay $150 million to lease office space in three buildings in the potrero hills enabled. the north bay wildfires are fully contained this morning. >> california's insurance commissioner says claims have topped $3.3 billion more than a 1991 oakland hills fire which had been the state's costliest. home and business owners have

it's 4:42 in sunnyvale. officers responded to a stabbing incident. the initial call was for a stabbingality an apartment on east wettle drive right by the bay shore freeway. sunnyvale officers found the suspect at the scene just after 1:00 yesterday. they say he was armed and uncooperative. at one point he stabbed a police dog. a female stabbing victim sent to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries, and the police dog died of its wounds. a driverless runaway dump truck hit 12 cars and hurt two people as it careened down a street san francisco street.

the truck stopped only after it hit a tree yesterday. pieces of smashed cars littered the street and police say the truck's wheels weren't curbed as it was being loaded and it could not handle the weight. california's new gas tax is now in effect. we warned you you're going to feel the impact even if you don't fill up at the pump. >> reporter: at gas stations across the bay, drivers are topping off. >> i might fill the rest of the tank. >> reporter: come wednesday california's gas tax goes up. the increase approved by the state legislature last spring is expected to raise more than $5.2 billion a year over the next decade. the money will be used to repair the crumbling roads and bridges, improve mass transit and expand bike lanes. >> it is like a booster shot to finally start fixing that mess

it will continue to be a controversial issue heading into the 2018 elections. the ceo said he had a positive meeting with the naacp after incidents of alleged racial discrimination. he says he hopes to keep the dialogue going. an apology was issued citing a pattern of incidents on flights including a woman accuse add pilot of racism when he ordered her removal from a plane over a seating dispute. a second actor has made accusations against kevin spacey. he wrote that he encountered spacey at the bar of london's old vic theater where spacey was artistic director. he says spacey tried to fondle him against his will. the allegation did not say when it happened, but spacey was artistic director from 2004 to 2015. the theater says, quote,
