expected to be less than 2 inches this coming weekend, rains are not expected to cause any serious problems. that's what happened as we go further into the winter is the cause for concerns. plans are underway to make sure here in napa and sonoma county that one disaster doesn't lead to another. with a wet weekend on the horizon, the first since the defensive stating north bay fires, state and local agencies are beginning to worry about what the rain wills carry there coming winter. from the burned down communities of napa and sonoma countys into the bay. >> be able to keep the ground where it is if possible, both in terms of erosion effect of where the homes are bringing it down into the water. >> reporter: one area of concern the toxics length of time behind in so many destroyed neighborhoods in santa rosa and napa. beneath the tons and tons of ash and debris their heavy metals.

department is heart broken over this loss. in front of the sunnyvale department safety a growing tribute to a police dog killed in the line of duty. >> it's zbreef. and grief doesn't leave you. >> reporter: tuesday afternoon canine jacks was stabbed to death. >> there's a huge void in our hearts, our canines are not only our department members but they're also our family members. >> reporter: officers had initially responded after getting word that a 25-year-old woman had been stabbed inside a residence. upon arrival they found her outside in the driveway breeding because of a stab wound to the abdomen. officers made entry into the unit and attempted to apprehend the suspect, the victim's boyfriend. who then stabbed canine jacks with the flief. the dog's handler wasn't hurt.

walmart. you're looking live at the scene, a lot of police officers. this is happening in forton, again in colorado, ten miles north of denver. the thornton police department tweeted multiple parties down. we'll keep an eye on this and share more information with you as soon as we get it from colorado. new developments, the sheriff's department announced this man, 19-year-old bray-and-zavala has been arrested for shooting in the bay. detectives say he was shot last weekend after confronting zavala and liz friends about speeding in the neighborhood. there is an online fundraiser to help support the hugo's family. its reached a $25,000 goal. the peanut museum reopens tomorrow. >> abc 7 news reporter wayne
