ladies and gentlemen, i find this conduct disruptive. please clear the room. >> extremely tense moments in a heated debate over tasers. the question, should san francisco police officers be armed with them or not? good evening. >> abc7 news reporter is live at city hall where at one point, it went on lockdown. >> reporter: deputies locked down city hall in an effort to regain control of the meeting. hundreds of people lined up outside to be heard. sometimes channelling in the hallway. as you're about to see the chants even shut down the meeting itself. public comment on the issue of outfitting san francisco police with tasers, quickly boiled over. >> watch out. behind them. >> reporter: the police commissioner president stopped the meeting. the protesters rallied on for

more than an hour. the session resumed on another floor. they then filtered in speakers. >> i don't need to hear people swearing at me and questioning my blackness or my gayness or anything else. i know who i am and i know what i must do. and i just need to hear the information and make the decision. >> reporter: a budget analysis puts the implementation of tasers at a cost of $8 million including outfitting units with defibrillators as a counter measure to the effects of taser electricity. >> there's a definitive risk of sudden death. there could be some type policy that's we put forth to try to mitigate those risks. >> i would like to ask those of hue are thinking about endorsing tasers to please try it on yourself before you make that decision. >> reporter: african-americans and latinos are much more likely to be tased, a refer testified. chief scott acknowledged this as he promised strong oversight and

transparency in his bid for tasers. >> de-escalation is and will always be our objective. >> reporter: at last check, the meeting is still under way with public testimony wrapping up. the commissioners are going back. this meeting could go into the early morning hours and it is unclear whether or not the commissioners will vote and make a decision. abc7 news. >> thank you. tonight law enforcement across the state are searching for an abducted baby and his father who could be headed to the bay area. chp said jeffrey gomez took 2-month-old jefferson gomez after an argument with the baby's mother. they were near he los angeles and headed on i-5 going north. jeffrey zboems considered armed and dangerous. he was last seen in a white chevy truck towing a trailer. the license plate is 02390 p 1. >> a san jose man is in jail

accused of taking pictures and video of an underaged girl on a city bus and there's more to this story. >> reporter: a 16-year-old girl told authorities a man was taking pictures and video of her on a vta bus as she rode to school in san jose. the sheriff's office investigated and identified 70-year-old florencio hernandez palmo. on at least one occasion when she got off the bus, he followed her and kept recording. they arrested him. >> the whole situation is gross. creepy. it is unfortunate. it is sad really. hopefully the guy will get some kind of mental health. >> reporter: the sheriff's office says he's been recording girls for three years. they're asking other girls to come forward. >> i would like to send a message like be more conscious as a parent. >> reporter: we talked to the

the hillsborough murder case shocked the bay area. a young wealthy woman from china living in a mansion with her boyfriend. both now charged in the murder of her former boyfriend, the father of her two children. >> tonight a man also charged in the case has given an exclusive interview to the abc7 news imteam. >> this case made headlines after tiffany lee and her family made bail. $65 million for real estate. now a former friend is saying he wants to make a deal with prosecutors. i met the 42-year-old in the county jail but will to settle for a phone interview because of the longstanding policy banning cameras. >> you may start the

>> this is claire in a recent 10-mile race. she did it in 24 hours, but she completed the 10 mile race in the uk, called the great south run. she is wearing censers on her body that tell the suit how to walk. this thing also helps individuals with spinal cord injuries stand up right, walk, turn and climb stairs. >> a woman is paralyzed and she is standing and walking and doing a marathon. >> she's done other races. back in 2012 she did the london marathon. it took her 17 days, but she did complete it. every year that she does one of these races with this type of technology, she's able to do more distance in less amount of time. >> that's the thing, you know, it's not just about personal talents. she's trail blazing for other people in this same situation and also raising money. so far she raised close to $800,000 for the nickel spinal injury foundation to tryback an
