now over to jessica. from the live desk developing news involving an apartment fire in san leandro and check out this new video here. these are flames billowing from san leandro. the fire caught on fire after 10:00 last night. the person living there said he believes the fire started in the kitchen. no one was hurt but several were killed. we have reached out to the fire department for a possible cause to the fire. i'll let you know when we get that. a state lawmaker demanding answers after someone stole a shotgun, a rifle, and hundreds of rounds from a deputy's vehicle. an unmarked car was broken into friday night in the tenderloin

district. the sergeant serves on the fbi's joint terrorism task force but the weapons and ammo stolen would not issued by the fbi. the san mateo county sheriff's office and police are trying to recover the stolen weapons and ammunition. president trump is in japan, the first stop on a five country strip. trip. he and shinzo abe spoke about the north's nuclear tests. president trump says the era of strategic patience is over. abe says he's in complete agreement with the president and is in favor of putting more pressure on north korea. >> the regime continued development of its programs including nuclear tests and outrageous launches of ballistic missiles directly over japanese territory. we will not stand for that.

happening today house republicans are expected to release proposed changes to the gop tax reform bill. "the washington post" says one idea is to raise the limit on mortgage interest deductions to $750,000. also on the table repealing the obama health care law's requirement that people have insurance coverage or pay a penalty. the congressional budget office estimates it would save $416 billion over a decade. it's 4:34. dream force about to descend on san francisco. 170,000 people will be in and around this week. >> that's a lot of breakout sessions and after parties and, of course, traffic. amy hollyfield is live in sonoma. >> reporter: look how sales force has taken over howard street this is dream force, at fourth and howard. they've been holding this event they've been holding this event for the last four years.

affected areas and damaged properties. the appraisals could lead to lower property taxes for residents if the loss estimate is at least $10,000 of structural damage. the property will be re-assessed and then taxes can be adjusted. the assessor's office says tax relief is available to those with business equipment and owners of aircraft, boats, and some certain mobile homes. >> it looks like ski season in parts of tahoe. check this out this is what skiers and snowboarders want to see. squaw valley tweeted out photos yesterday. the resort says it received a foot of fresh snow and more snow is expected later next week. is expected later next week. we still -- we do have better news with this accident up at lakeville highway. i don't know if you can see there it was a fatal that happened at 9:00 last night. they just got it cleared out of the roadway. they had a full closure there and a car drove through that full closure about an hour ago.

detained and questioned him. airport officials say he was tracked on camera the entire time. the checkpoint reopened after about 30 minutes when agents determined that he was not a threat. cal train passengers in south san francisco will soon see big changes. ground will be broken on an improvement project that includes a new pedestrian underpass and a new 700-foot boarding platform. the work will be done at night to not inconvenience passengers. the improvements will make the station safer and fully compliant with the americans with disability ability. voters in pacifica are a day away from going to the polls. the two major issues they'll be deciding. >> and berkeley's only emergency room hospital, the health care crisis they say the closure will create. >> democrats are fighting back against claims in an explosive new

it is 4:44. people from several east bay cities are vowing to step up the fight against the planned closure of the medical center in berkeley. dozens protested outside of the hospital yesterday. sutter faces a 2030 deadline to renovate or replace it to meet new seismic standards. they want to transfer to a hospital in oakland. it would leave berkeley with no emergency room. >> it's a terrible idea. i think it's important for berkeley to have a hospital both for babies bean born, for elderly people who are sick and everyone else in between. >> we're not going to let the east bay become a hospital desert. >> sutter intends to keep many doctors' offices and other services in berkeley. it says changes in patient care and technology have reduced the need to admit people to hospitals. ⌞> for the first time ever licensed cannabis will be able to insure their crops. the okay was given to a stockton company to begin offering

to 35 miles an hour. so here we are at 5:00 wednesday morning, nothing going on. as we head to noon, you can see a few scout showers out there. as we head to 7:00, there's your light to moderate rain, your green to yellow and from 7:00 all the way to 11:00 it becomes more light rain and then as it heads into south bay and exits thursday, it remains pretty much light rain. my accuweather seven-day forecast and it's going to be a one for thursday and friday as the chances of rain will continue. it looks like a much calmer weekend on the way. hi, sue. good morning. and after a flurry of incidents early this morning we are quieting down. take a look at the san mateo bridge as your drive is about 15 minutes from 880 over to 101. we had an earlier accident in union city, sbld 880 that's been cleared off to the right-hand shoulder. still seeing some red sensors in the area so it's slowly getting back to normal. and we had a fire up in the petaluma area.

welcome back. new this morning uber is pledging $5 million in the next five years to fund sexual assault prevention groups and to train some of its own employees. and this move could improve the company's public image which has been tarnished by findings of sexual harassment and multiple reports of drivers assaulting passengers. uber says it has already trained 150 customer service agents for a team to deal with sexual assault reports and part of the
