abc7 news. pg&e made a claim in response to attorneys for the tubbs fire that have been sued. cal fire is investigating the possible role downed electrical wires had in starting that deadly inferno. a set of new fire safety rules could force pg&e and other utility companies to change how they install equipment. the proposal would affect lines and poles and how close they can be to plants and how often they need to be inspected. regulators became concerned and the changes would be costly. it would allow utilities to raise rates to make up the money. they are going to hear the proposal next month. last night, bands were among the musicians who performed at a

independent contractors who lose personal flexibility but this morn the courts have sided with the drivers and the ruling could have a trickle-down effect worldwide. we'll have to wait and see. all right. let's go up to the north bay with live doppler 7. you can see spotty showers from dillon beach and bodega bay and petaluma and right there on skyline boulevard, you can see the possibility and on 280 of wet weather for the next 15 to 20 minutes or so. temperatures in the upper 40s. look at the streaks of 49 from pleasanton out towards livermore. mi mid-50s for lafayette. concord, 58 degrees. let's take a look at what is going around. low to mid-50s for most of the bay. 57 in san francisco. 58 in napa and novato, 52 degrees. here's a look at the -- around

the bay, stray showers today. beaches, yeah, rain and showers. not a great day to be at either of those. exercising kind of mild and humid. you may like that. temperatures in the 60s at half moon bay. sausalito, 63. 65 in oakland. san jose, you top out at 66. same thing in livermore. concord, 67. 65 in napa and santa rosa. drier and cooler. 50s along the coast in san francisco. low to mid-60s elsewhere and then al southerly breeze kicks in for sunday and that brings low to upper 60s and it's going to return the humidity back and that sets the stage for another chance of wet weather sunday into monday. a slight chance on tuesday and then a better chance on wednesday. we'll take a look at the rest of the accuweather seven-day forecast. sue? san mateo bridge, traffic is increasing. about a 17-minute drive from 880 and the hayward side across the

completely naked. a fifth woman alleges that he engaged in a sexual act while on the phone with her. we'll talk live. with your "gma first look," . wednesday we told you that facebook wanted users to upload naked photos or videos of themselves. facebook would then use the photo and face-matching algorithms to prevent those images from being shared in the future. now facebook's global head of safety is making a clarification. it's being tested in a small pilot program in australia. you only send the images to yourself via facebook messenger and lastly and possibly more importantly, the images won't be saved on any facebook servers. jack dorsey is responding to the temporary deactivation of

president trump's twitter account. we told you about the twitter employee who deactivated the president's account on his last day. dorsey said the incident should have never happened and the company is putting safeguards in place to make sure it doesn't happen again. when asked if the president contacted him about the incident, dorsey replied, we've had conversations. california's new 12 cent tax is causing problems for truck drivers. they are feeling the brunt of the tax hike. the tax is expected to raise over $52 billion for road improvements over the next decade. happening today, you can ride a 4 go bike for free today. it's a partnership that is a point of sale platform. users must sign up on ford go's

let's focus in on today. a 1 on the storm impact scale. light with scattered showers and a trace of a .01 of here we are, both bridges are looking wetter as we head through the morning. 680, 770, 880.0.0.0. redwood highway, heading down towards pepper road, possibly getting slicker right now. here's a look at 7:00. you can see the most enhanced showers up in the north bay. same thing at 9:00 but there will be random showers elsewhere. as we head through the launch hour, that's when we get our best chance of widespread showers that taper down to isolated again as we head through the evening hours. in fact, probably won't need an umbrella if you head out after 7:00. rainfall amounts and not everybody is going to get rain but where it does fall, less

a lot of activity here. the lights are on and the crews are tearing it all down and clear it all out of here. the impact of this concert will live on indefinitely. what happened here will change lives. organi organizers were hoping that the concert would bring in $10 million for the victims in the north bay. before the show even started, they were at 15 million and more came in during the concert. we'll ask today for a final figure and it's all going to the victims of the north bay >> we got $2 million out last week and more will go out tonight because of tonight's incredible generosity, we'll be able to get more dollars out the door for recovery and rebuilding in the next 6 to 12 months. >> reporter: the show had impressive performances, including dave matthews and metallica. there were still tickets

available when the concert started but midway through the show they announced that it had sold out. heroes from the fire were also featured throughout the night. the first section was reserved for first responders, volunteers and fire victims. metallica met with first responders before the show and the lead singer not forget. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. officials say they've seen no runoff problems passing through the north bay. crews in both counties found no debris flow issues. officials expressed concerns about toxic debris flowing into the storm drains and then into the creeks and rivers. at the live desk, the alabama republican candidate for senate now accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl nearly 40 years ago is fighting back this morning. judge roy moore is calling the

accusations an all-out war on conservative values. abc7 news reporter janai norman has more on the explosive allegations. janai? >> reporter: republicans, including mitch mcconnell, say if the allegations are true, roy moore should step aside. but at this point, moore is standing firm and denying those claims. bombshell allegations. just a month before the alabama special election for u.s. senate, new claims roy moore made sexual advances towards teenaged girls decades ago. >> these are not fuzzy memories. these are women who are very certain and confident about what happened to them. >> reporter: we spoke with one of the authors from the exclusive "washington post" story in which four women said they had romantic encounters from roy when they were in their teens including one who was just 14 years old in 1979.

there have been 31 allegations investigated since 2006 and 15 of the investigations were in the state senate and 16 in the assembly. they failed to give any details like the nature of the complaints or whether they involved lawmakers or staff. last month, more than 140 women came forward to denounce what they described as a culture of harassment in the state capitol. the crackdown of undocumented immigrants is being felt in the cambodian and vietnamese population. about 100 vietnamese and cambodian i am fwran cambodian immigrants have been detained, all of whom have been convicted of a crime. some may be allowed legally to stay in the u.s. >> one of the things we're trying to emphasize is to really know your rights. >> vietnam and cambodia who have refused to take back people deported from the u.s. but new

negotiations are under way that could change that which could be why the communities are being targeted. immigration and customs enforcement would not comment specifically on the situation but released a statement that reads in part, "international law obligates each country to accept the return of its nationals ordered removed from the united states". uber and lyft will be required to conduct deeper background checks on their drivers. they decided against requiring drivers to have their fingerprints run against criminal databases, similar to what cab drivers have to under go. take a look at this video. campbell police say these teenagers burglarized two homes on october 30th. they kicked in doors at both homes and stole laptops and jewelry. the victims had just moved to the neighborhood.

a confrontation there. the cosmopolitan hotel barred him from its property yesterday and notified him that he could be arrested if he shows up. tmz reports that he became abusive and drunk towards the staff. simpson's lawyer denies that. simpson underwent drug and alcohol tests yesterday and those were negative. simpson was paroled from a nevada prison last month after serving nine years for armed robbery and assault. dozens of homeowners in san ramon are having unexpected landscaping due to unwelcome guests. wild bigs. they are hunting for grubs. that is not snow there. that's grass being dug up by the pigs. >> i think we might be fighting a losing battle and every day it's gotten worse and worse and worse. >> the wild pigs weigh up to 500 pounds. there was an emergency community meeting yesterday to come up with ways to fix the problem.

they resume on sun, monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday. 60s in half moon bay. ukiah, 60 to 61. 63 in san francisco to antioch and concord, warm spots at 67. now, drier air and the clouds are opening tonight. it's going to be much cooler from the low to mid-40s to upper 40s to low 50s around the bay to 53 in san francisco is the exception. you can see the scattered showers out there as they march off towards the east-northeast and they will put down another light sheen. here's the area of low pressure that continues to weaken. today is our last day for the scattered showers and as you head through the 9:00 hour, it's numerous in the north bay. as we head from noon, after 5:00, they are just about over. and what you're going to see is the sunshine, dry air and temperatures about the same.

you don't have to be a fashion model to walk the sonic runway in san jose. hundreds of people have already walked this 400-foot long path which features 24 arches filled with l.e.d. lights. it converts audio signals into light patterns. it's the first of the burning man project that they have planned for the city. sonic runway runs every night from 5:30 through mid-january. >> it looks nice. it's 5:52. the backers of a ballot that would exempt older californians from paying tax would exclude residents 55 years and older from paying any state or local or property tax.

if it makes the ballot and passes, it reduces taxes by $60 billion a year and they would have to make up that difference by reducing spending or raising other taxes and fees. take a good look at this because it's changing soon. it's official, macy's plans to close its store in stonestown galleria in san francisco. this is california's oldest shopping center. the stonestown location is one of three that is it closing early next year. a chinese national on a request to row from san francisco to australia had to be rescued by the coast guard. this is the bright green rowboat. he ran into communication issues and then his robot suffered a broken rudder. he sent off a satellite message to a friend and called for help. he's getting his vessel fixed. he plans to continue his trip once repairs are completed.

san francisco bay cybersecurity firm app 30 warns that millions are having their phones hacked. developers mistakenly coded credentials for accessing text messaging, calling and other services provided by third-party apps like twilio. they did not reveal all apps affected as to not tip off potential hackers. google is better securing people's accounts. they looked at 25,000 tools used by criminals starting in march 2016 and they discovered millions of google user names and passwords are for sale on the dark web. google says this is the first study that looks at how thieves steal your long-term data. they say hacking tools are so sophisticated now that just about anyone can use them.
