good morning bay area. let's get up and get going. this is "abc 7 mornings." it's saturday, november 11th. good morning and thanks so much for joining us, i'm chris nguyen. let's start with a first look at the forecast. here's meteorologist lisa argen, tracking live doppler 7 for us. hi, lisa. >> hi, chris. we're starting in sfo, cloud cover and 36-minute delays here. boy, we have fog in petaluma and napa with next to nothing visibilities. do be careful out there. the golden gate bridge, you can see a little bit of sunshine there. that's what we'll have for most of the afternoon. 51 in concord with 54 in novato. a cooler start, 8 to 9 degrees cooler. look at all the sun cru cr

cruz. 64 for a high there. a beautiful afternoon with mid-60s. rain will come back. not everyone is going to be see it. your monday morning commute is looking a little sloppy. i'll have the details in a few minutes, chris. >> lisa, thank you. the end of an era for the old bay bridge. this morning, caltrans blew up the last two piers of the old bay bridge, finishing the project a year ahead of schedule. you're watching video of the final implosion that happened 30 minutes ago. caltrans demolished 11 piers this year. chp officials closed the bay bridge to traffic as a precaution. you can see traffic is now moving in both directions. there is a slowdown in the cash lanes. tomorrow marks 81 years since the bridge first opened. they zoomed through many east bay communities a few weeks ago. this weekend, hundreds of motorcyclists may cause problems again. police say social media has

tipped them off there may be sideshows with people coming from all over the state. abc 7 news reporter katie utehs has more on what police are doing to get ready. >> reporter: swarms of motorcycle riders took over east bay roadways late last month. police arrested five people and impounded vehicles. but it hasn't slowed side show activity. more is expected this weekend. oakland police captain randall wingate says the street stunts stretch the department thin. >> if you're a victim of a minor crime, you'll have to wait, it will backlog us for an entire day until we can get to you to take that report. >> i've seen a couple of sideshows where they've pulled firearms out and shooting while spinning doughnuts. that's ridiculous. you shouldn't have to do that to have a good time. >> that sounds like a pretty dangerous situation so i think we should stop it somehow. >> reporter: opd and california highway patrol are bringing in extra officers and resources this weekend.

>> when you have helicopters and planes in the air, you cannot outrun them. they'll patiently wait for you to stop and we'll take your car and you'll go to jail. >> they're going to do it regardless, whether it's legal or not legal. >> reporter: berkeley resident jose ruiz suggests finding a venue to keep the sideshows off the street. opd says it's working to deter participants and spectators. in the east bay, katie utehs, abc 7 news. a mountain lion captured in san francisco has been released back into the wild. this video shows the big cat being tranquilized by game wardens. abc 7 news was in diamond heights as they carried him away. someone spotted the cougar lurking in the bushes yesterday. police cleared the area until the wardens moved in. neighbors were shocked to see a mountain lion so close to home. one man is keeping a close eye on his dog. >> i'm not going to let him out. he looks like a little bunny, he's a pomeranian. so we watch out for the hawks and the coyotes, now we have to

watch out for mountain lions. >> wardens say the quivering you see right there is normal. the mountain lion was not injured. it was released at the crystal springs reservoir in san mateo county last night. members of the uc santa cruz puma project gave it an ear tag and gps monitor to track it. allegations of sexual assault keep piling up. comedian louis c.k. admits the accusations are true. abc news reporter eva pilgrim has more now on the fallout. >> there is no greater threat to women than men. we're the number one threat. >> reporter: popular comedian louis c.k. at the center of the latest sexual misconduct allegatins, now confirming them in a statement, saying "i want to address the stories told to "the new york times" by five women. these stories are true." >> i'm the guy women see and go, eh. >> reporter: detailed stories

from the women stretch back a decade. all say louis exposed and touched himself in front of them. these women tell the "times" they met the comedian in 2002 at a festival. the comedian admitted, "at the time i said to myself what i did was okay but what i learned later in life, too late, is that the power i had over these women is that they admired me and i wielded that power irresponsi y irresponsibly." >> louis c.k. is probably one of the most popular, well-liked comedians. this person is powerful and they can hurt your career. >> reporter: louis built a career makinghypocrisy, making his appearance and sexual hangups. >> i have sick sexual thoughts. you have no idea. >> reporter: now feeling the fallout from these women coming forward.

fx cut all ties. hbo and netflix also dropping him from upcoming prongs. the release of his new film "i love you daddy" abruptly cancelled by the production company. eva pilgrim, abc news, new york. george takei is the latest hollywood actor accused of sexual assault. a former model, scott runton, said he met takei in a bar in 1981. he says he passed out after two drinks and woke up to find his pants down and takei groping him. takei says the events described do not occur. a warning from santa rosa's water department. some residents should stop drinking tap water. the city says the north bay fire damaged the water system. it issued homes to 13 homes after contaminants were found in the water. they say residents should use bottled water for all uses until

further notice. new details on what started the north bay wildfires. our media partner reports a third party owned, installed, and maintained the electrical equipment. the utility company is facing 15 wildfire-related lawsuits. 22 people died and at least 4500 structures burned in last month's wildfires. thousands of dollars for north bay fire victims. the bay area's muslim community got together in the south bay last night for a fundraiser. organizers saying we're all neighbors. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has the story now from fremont. >> you can't just stand and watch as someone else is doing it. >> reporter: she watched the deadly north bay fires unfold on tv and knew she wanted to help. her plans started with her dad who owns royal palace banquet hall in fremont. >> he connected a few people, those people connected more people.

it just grew. >> reporter: hundreds of people came. speakers included spiritual leaders and united states congressmen. >> every time these disasters have happened, i've seen our community come together. >> reporter: the community here is muslim. >> as muslims we believe god didn't say to love your muslim neighbor. god said love your neighbor. >> over 40 lives have been lost and thousands of homes. so the smallest thing we can do to help our fellow neighbors is an honor. >> reporter: the money raised will go to islamic relief usa. >> we focus on the people either who were not insured or the people who did not for whatever reason qualify for fema support. >> reporter: organizers hope this event raises at least $100,000 for fire victims. in fremont, katie marzullo, abc 7 news. happening today, sonoma county is hosting a resource fair to connect fire victims

you can see there vice president mike pence taking part in the annual wreath laying ceremony. earlier in the day he helped volunteers clean up the vietnam veterans memorial on the national mall. in other national news this morning, tense moments at the orlando international airport after a loud blast in the main terminal. people thought it was a gunshot. the airport was evacuated as travelers were taken off planes. police found an overheated lithium camera battery caused the explosion. it took hours for passengers to go through security again, causing delays and cancellations. a dog owner in oakland is pleading to get his stolen yorkshire terrier back. take a good look at biscuit. he was taken sunday at 1:00 p.m. from a car parked in front of guadalajara restaurant. the restaurant's surveillance video shows a truck driving through the parking lot and pulling around to the other side. a man gets out of the truck, jumps over the fence, and after

a few minutes somehow manages to break in and take the dog right as a customer in a white van watches it all happen. the man ran off and drove away with biscuit. if you have any information, you're asked to call oakland police. honoring our veterans. and in marin county, there's a special project to make sure their stories live on for generations to come. abc 7 news reporter elissa harrington shows us that project that is paying tribute to hundreds of bay area vets. >> it was a little difficult. it was a little emotional at times for me. >> reporter: sean stevens still gets tears in his eyes thinking about his years in afghanistan with the national guard. >> war is not videogames. it is forever. the scars can be physical and they can be mental. >> reporter: his experiences forever changed his life and now will forever live on in the library of congress. stevens is one of 200 bay area veterans who have been interviewed for an oral history project called "honoring our marin veterans." the people asking the questions,

high schoolers like emily sweet. >> we ask a bunch of questions, and those interviews with paperwork and logs of the audio will go to the library of congress for preservation of their stories. >> reporter: the mission is to interview all living bay area vets so their stories can be shared with future generations. >> it's really about day to day and the everyday people that have been fighting to preserve the liberty and the freedom that we have as a country. >> reporter: ted cohen fought in vietnam, the korean war and world war ii. he was stationed along the german border. >> it taught me how great it is to live in the united states by looking across that border and seeing what those people are going through. >> reporter: he never takes this country or our freedoms for granted. elissa harrington, abc 7 news. the national park service is encouraging people to get outside in honor of veterans day. all weekend long, all california

donated bikes, both new and used, onto trucks. the bikes will be handed out to adults and children with addresses listed as destroyed on the official damage inspection report from calfire. >> the need for helping people that lost everything, it's the least we could do. we just felt like, after going up there and seeing it, we wanted to do something. and this is the way that everyone can give back. >> the bikes will be delivered today between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the sonoma county sheriff's office in santa rosa. happening today, the cowb cowboy -- the boy scouts and cub scouts are donating for the marin food bank. it's the largest food drive benefiting the food bank this year. the food bank says it will be a very busy weekend with thanksgiving coming up in less than two weeks.

bay. 48 in livermore. novato checking in at 54 degrees. you've heard about the cold weather on the east coast. they're three hours ahead of us. this is chilly with temperatures below freezing in cleveland and chicago, even cooler yesterday, i should say cold. it was 10 in chicago. they're getting out of into deep freeze. we'll see temperatures thaw and bring in some milder air with numbers near average today. so areas of fog, it's a little chilly, sun and clouds today with veterans day, rain arriving for some of you late tomorrow in the north bay. our storm impact scale for sunday night into monday, it's a 1, a weak system with less than a couple of hundredths to a third inch in the north bay, a half inch of rain. throughout the day we have sun. 6:00, the clouds will increase from sonoma to marin. by midnight you can see a few showers in the north bay.

russian president vladimir putin as the leaders attending the meeting gathered for a group photo. president trump says he asked putin about russian meddling in the 2016 election, that putin denied it, and that he, trump, believes that putin meant it. abc's chief with white house correspondent has the latest. >> reporter: shortly before arriving in hanoi, vietnam, president trump told reporters aboard air force one that he again pressed vladimir putin about russian interference in the election that he won. he said he didn't meddle, trump said, i asked him again, you can only ask him so many times. every time he sees me he says i didn't do that. i really believe that when he tells me that, he means it. i think he's very insultied by it, which is not a good thing for our country. just days ago, the president said he wanted to talk about getting putin's help dealing

with north korea. but a senior white house official tells abc news the discussion was mostly about syria, the two agreeing to commit to a peaceful solution to the country's civil war. vietnam is the fourth country on president trump's marathon first trip to asia. he arrived talking tough on trade. >> we are not going to let the united states be taken advantage of anymore. i am always going to put america first, the same way that i expect all of you in this room to put your countries first. >> reporter: while in china, the president had nothing but warm words for china's president. >> my feeling toward you is an incredibly warm one. as we said, there's great chemistry. >> reporter: here in vietnam, the president announced he would no longer tolerate the kind of trade practices china has long been criticized for. >> we will confront the destructive practices of forcing businesses to surrender their

technology to the state and forcing them into joint ventures in exchange for market access. >> that was jonathan karl reporting. putin spoke to reporters after the meeting. he told them relations between the united states and russia are at, quote, a state of crisis. republicans on capitol hill are going full steam ahead with their tax reform plans with just 16 working days left before christmas. the house and senate have proposed their own versions. the goal is to move the two bills into one by the end of the year. the centerpiece of both bills is tax cuts. but there are major differences in how those would be accomplished. >> corporate america will see the senate bill as a loss. both these plans add to the deficit, $1.5 trillion is what would be added to the deficit over ten years. there is a real concern about what that would mean for the overall economy in the long run. >> the house is expected to take a vote next week. the senate will begin debate on

theirs in committee on monday. turning now to the political crisis back here at home. >> i have not been guilty of sexual misconduct with anyone. these allegations came only 4 1/2 weeks before the general election on december 12th. why now? >> that's alabama senate candidate roy moore speaking at a veterans day event near birmingham this morning. he denies having a sexual encounter with an underage girl. here is abc news reporter stephanie ramos with what moore is saying about that accusation. >> reporter: roy moore, the republican senate candidate, is sticking to his guns, saying allegations that he molested a 14-year-old girl when he was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney, aren't true. >> these allegations are completely false and misleading. >> reporter: a report by "the washington post" on thursday details allegations that moore tried to have relationships with

several women when they were just 14 to 18 years old and he was in his 30s. leigh corfman is one of those women. she tells "the washington post" moore took off his shirt and pants and touched her over her r bra and underpants and guided her to touch him as well. >> i don't know ms. corfman from anybody. i never talked to her, never had any contact with her, allegations of sexual misconduct with her are completely false, i believe they're politically motivated, brought only to stop a successful campaign. >> reporter: moore's complain blasted out this e-mail to supporters in an effort to raise money, saying "we are in the midst of a spiritual battle with those who want to silence our message." but hannity asked moore if he ever dated women under 18.

connected to a hate crime. sabrina hooks says she was beaten because she was gay at a jack in the box. the suspects began calling her names and the verbal attack turned physical. the worst part, no one tried to help her. >> for it to get violent, and no one helped, that's what just really stunned me and still, it hurts. it makes me fear just to walk down the street. >> hooks was treated at the hospital for serious injuries. her face swollen, front tooth knocked out, and her left eye may be permanently damaged. new this morning, a study finds renters in san francisco need credit scores much higher than the nationwide average to secure an apartment. the average credit scores of people who successfully leased an apartment this year is 724, much higher than the national average of 650.

we can see all the sunshine above the cloud cover here from mt. tam. and boy, it is gray in the north bay. but things will brighten up, and it's been actually really nice all around the bay this morning, with some pretty sunrises. as we look at what to expect for the next few days, we will have that fog for the next few hours in the north bay. sun comes out and it returns tomorrow. a few more clouds towards the late in the day period. we could see a little rain towards morning. the overnight hours, but more likely into monday morning, your commute a little soggy. so we have the weekend to enjoy the dry weather. you can see from the golden gate bridge, it's still gray here. it will be sunny by probably 11:00, 12:00 here because of the low cloud deck. visibility still an issue from petaluma and napa. live doppler 7 really pinpointing where the fog is. concord has a little bit. you're looking at some sunshine out in the east bay right now. it's colder, i've heard about it from you this morning.

and you're seeing that it's nine degrees colder in concord, eight degrees colder in napa. two to four degrees colder along the coast. san francisco looks gray, sunshine trying to build in. we're looking at numbers today on the mild side. it's 55, been that way all morning long, half moon bay and mountain view, with 54 in gilroy. oakland, good morning to you, 54 degrees. another vantage point here with the gray sky. we'll look for the best chance of rain coming into the north bay once again. that's late tomorrow. it's 51 in santa rosa, 52 by the delta. concord checking in in the low 50s. 48 in livermore. let's bring in our storm impact scale. we'll skip right on over the weekend, it will be dry, partly cloudy. by monday, we're looking at a soggy monday morning commute. late in the day on sunday, we could see a few showers in mendocino county, sonoma, perhaps marin. the activity stays well to the north. this system will weaken as it pushes through.
