even, ever year since volunteers have put thousands of crosses across from the lafayette bart station to remember those lost in wars. the american flag flew over downtown san jose today to honor those who have served our country. the annual veterans day parade rolled down santa clara street this morning, and the united veterans council of santa clara county holds this event every year. san francisco has a veterans day parade scheduled for tomorrow morning at 11:00 at fishermen's wharf. the president remained on tour in asia today. mike pence laid a wret at the to me of the unknown soldier and washed the named etched into the vietnam war memorandum. in oakland police officers will be cracking down all night and into the morning on any attempts to start a side show. the police department tweeted these pictures of two cars they

over at&t park today. we were at the giants home stadium for the bay area science festival discovery day. 30,000 students toured the 150 interactive exhibits. they got to dissect a sheep's brain, yum. and even build a "star wars" droid. >> this is an opportunity to have access for everyone to explore what science is being done here in the bay area. maybe even encourage people that science part of their future. >> the bay area science festival is hosting events across the bay area through next weekend. this year's leap sand castle competition had to be put on hold because of the smoke from the north bay fires. today the beach event drew hundreds of people. here's a look at the sandy bucket brigade that came in first this year. this year's theme was castles,

sun's going down at 5:00 on the dot. after the sun goes down, we begin to introduce a chance of a shower, but that's mainly in the north bay. daylight hours are going to be dry. here's your high. very similar to where we were today, comfortably cool at 66 in concord. 59 in half moon bay. 63 in santa rosa. 67 in san jose. we bring back the storm impact scale for the system for sunday and monday. it ranks a 1. and the north bay will have the highest rainfall once again, a quarter to 3/4 inch of rain. outside the north bay, most spots are going to wind up with less than a 1/4 inch of rain. we stop this tomorrow morning, blend of sun and clouds and we're dry. we stay dry through the daylight hours sunday, even 6:00 in the

muni riders today in san francisco got a pleasant surprise. if you rode the j train through downtown this morning, you might have gotten to see this pack of puppies. ten labs and golden retrievers were going through guide dog training, and this was a test to see how they dealt with the noise. today's puppies came from the san ramon valley guide dogs. >> that's a segway there, buddy. >> very impressive. >> don't try this at home.

we honor our war heroes on this veterans day. in marin county a special project the is making sure their stories live on for generations to come. >> a project honoring hundreds of bay area vets. >> it was a little difficult, a little emotional at times for me. >> sean stevens gets tears in his eyes thinking of his years in afghanistan with the national guard. >> war is not video games, it is forever. the scars can be physical and they can be mental. >> his experience forever changed his life and will live on in the library of congress. stevens is one of nearly 200 bay area veterans who've been interviewed for an oral history project called honoring our marin veterans. the high schoolers asking the questions. >> we would be behind the camera asking questions, and those interviews with paperwork and
