fire victims could face new evacuations. >> let's start with drew tuma. >> the next storm system crosses the region the next 24 hours. live doppler 7 tracking this system along with satellite overhead, you can see it's a rather quiet picture. but we zoom out just a bit, and live done hoppler 7 showing it. you see the green about 100 miles away from the north bay, so we're several more hours away from the wet weather. but once it arrives, the north bay will see the highest total. on the storm impact score, it's a one. but the north bay could see anywhere from a quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain. we're going to time it out for you hour by hour. this is not the only storm system we're tracking.

weel vee th we'll have that in the forecast in a pfew minutes. hundreds of feet of underground storm pipe melted, bringing the real possibility of mudslides and flooding. the focus on the new problem is cross creek road in the fountaingrove neighborhood. cornell b corne cornell bernard joins us live to explain. >> reporter: the city's taking this threat very seriously tonight. that roadblock up at cross creek road, not far from where we are tonight. the city discovered a few hours ago that a drainpipe running underneath the road was compromised. it was destroyed by the firestorm. that road is now shut down, and it's not the only place melted pipes are found around santa rosa tonight. this sinkhole was just discovered in the fountaingrove neighborhood.

ittow it opened up after hundreds of feet of plastic pipe melted in the firestorm. >> the pipes caught fire and in some cases were destroyed. >> reporter: they're replacing new pipe, but melted pipe has been found all over fountain grove. >> so far we've identified eight sites where the pipe has been lost, and 20 additional suspect areas that are under investigation today. >> reporter: we found city crews inspecting areas with tiny cameras, looking for damage. it's creating a danger of runoff and flooding, prompting this warning. >> we're asking residents, especially in the fountaingrove area to be especially vigilant and have a plan to leave in the event it is necessary. >> reporter: approaching storms could pose a danger in the fire zone. >> it's hard to tell people who have only recently gotten back into their neighborhoods to be

ready to heave leave if things south. >> reporter: she worries about her neighbors who still live here. >> we felt like they were so lucky to have their homes, but if they have to evacuate, that's not fair. >> reporter: the city is monitoring the approaching storm and monitoring sinkholes. >> tomorrow is the deadline for homeowners to complete the paperwork to allow the government to remove ash and debris from their properties. one homeowner is worried about what happens if he's not happy with the work done. >> they can allow us to remove the debris or they can go at it on their own and hire a private contractor. we're trying to give them all the answers we can. >> in the meantime, other

homeowners had questions about how long it would take government contractors to remove the debris. drivers endured delays of long asini nine hours as crews worked to remove a damaged safe way truck. it collided at around 5:15 this morning. the impact seriously damaged the truck making it hard to remove. they had to fix a guardrail, all lanes finally reopened at 2:45 this afternoon. residents of san carlos are firing back at a proposed gun store. abc news lillian cam is live to tell us about people's concerns there. >> reporter: this will be the site of turner's outdoorsman if it ever opens. we are at a strip mall. and while turner's is also a chain, it's facing resistance from the community.

plans to open the store are on hold until the san carlos city council discusses it tomorrow night. they sell guns, ammo, hunting and fish bei and fishing equipment. when members of the community got wind of plans, the sentiment is that san carlos doesn't need another gun store. in light of the mass shootings that have been going on across the country, many residents say it's not appropriate to add another one. >> i'm not happy having this in san carlos, and this is a really prominent shopping center where people come to get everything on a daily basis. so to have a gun store here, i think this sends the wrong message, contrary to what san carlos residents represent or prefer. >> reporter: we'll be talking with the mayor of san carlos later this evening. he and the city council will be taking up this issue tomorrow at

7:00 p.m. representatives of turner's outdoorsman are expected to attend. members of ten local churches in san francisco attended a community forum to learn about changes to an immigrant protection program. many immigrants who attend the churches are protected by the temporary status program. they're worried because it's disappearing. >> we've been part of this nation for almost 18 years, so we're being here practically legally. we work, we contribute taxes, and we are integrating the community. so please give us an opportunity. >> now earlier this week, the department of homeland security canceled temporary protected status for nicaraguans living in the u.s. in san diego, dozens of children went to the hospital after a quest to get pizza turned into a tragedy. 50 of them packed onto a

stairway running up and down from a loft to get pizza, and that stairway collapsed, injuring more than 20 kids. city building inspectors are trying to figure out what happened and it could take days. marci gonzalez has the latest. >> reporter: overnight, chaos at a children's trampoline and obstacle gym in san diego. kids rushed out on stretchers and into ambulance. inside, first responders treating some of the 23 people injured when a platform collapsed. >> it was really scary, and everybody was crying and bleeding. >> reporter: it happened around 7:40 p.m. 30 to 40 kids rushing up the stairs for pizza, according to some reports, caused the wooden platform to buckle. >> at first i heard a crack, and then all of a sudden it crashed down, and i heard people screaming. >> the platform that these kids

wells fargo brightened this veteran's day weekend for two purple heart recipients. one of them now has a new car. the other received a home of his own. neither man will have to make any payments, since 2012, wells fargo has donated homes to more than 350 vets. one celebrated a remarkable goal this veteran's day. the double amputee completed the last of 31 marathons in 31 days. a marathon a day for a month. he ran his 17th in san francisco in october. so far he's raised more than $125,000 for wounded warriors. he lost his legs in 2010, but that has not slowed him down. >> i went to afghanistan. had a traumatic experience. came back minus two legs but was still able to find my new way that i was going to contribute to my country and my society and keep fighting for my brother

san francisco is celebrating the opening of a new urban garden. abc 7 news was in the excelsior as the public utilities commission teamed up with a grassroots group, hopper, to create humbird farm. it aims to make healthy and affordable food available to underserved communities and to promote locally-sourced food. >> so we are really hoping will ben gefit not just the excelsior area. >> they hope to provide more than 1,000 pounds of organic

front. you can see it very nicely right here, the cloud cover. that will sweep through here the next 24 hours and bring that chance of overnight rain. location is going to be key in what sky you see. in the south bay, mainly clear sky. but in the north bay, it will be mainly overcast skies with a couple of showers beginning to pop up near the midnight hours. so the storm impact scale we exclusively. it's a one, a light system. the north bay having the highest totals, about a quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain. outside of the north bay, likely less than a quarter of an inch of rain. we'll plan out this storm system. later tonight, around 11:00, light showers confined to the north bay and along the coast. 6:00 in the morning on your monday, outside of the north bay, we're mainly dry. but in the north bay, we'll be tracking isolated light showers
