and the debate over whether america really needs an 840 horsepower car. 840 horsepower. that's pretty fast. >> it's about the speed of the normal race car driver. so i'd say, yes, we need it. >> does it send you back to the future? >> that we'll get into. a little bit later. good morning, everyone. we're going to start with president trump declaring a great relationship with the president of the philippines, a man accused of authorizing the deaths of thousands of his own people. >> riot police clashed with anti-trump protesters on the streets of manila as both men sat down together on the final stop of president trump's asia tour. an earlier moment garnered laughs as president trump struggled a bit with mastering a traditional handshake. karen travers is in manila for us. karen. >> reporter: good morning, diane and kendis. president trump says he's made great progress on trade and

north korea but he hasn't pointed to any specific commitments he's taking back to washington. the president is already looking back on this trip and calling it a success saying the reception he's received in every country shows respect for him and the united states. nothing like an awkward group handshake to kick off a summit. president trump and other world leaders standing side by side told to put one hand over the other and shake hands with the person next to them. it didn't go smoothly and mr. trump didn't seem to be enjoying himself. later he got down to business. a meeting with the prime ministers of australia and japan. the president teasing a major announce many he'll make next wednesday at the white house. >> it'll be a very complete statement as to trade and north korea. >> reporter: then that critical sit-down with president duterte of the philippines. duterte has come under intense scrutiny by human rights groups who say he's carried out thousands of extra judicial killings as part of his crackdown on drugs. in the past president trump has commended him for his war on drug. >> we've had a great relationship.

this has been very successful. >> reporter: the white house said the meeting focused on isis, trade and drugs and human rights briefly came up in the context of the philippines' fight against illegal drugs. president trump said at the start of this trip it would be grueling, but the pace and workload wouldn't be an issue for him. today he complimented the press for keeping up. >> i'm very impressed. you stayed with us. >> reporter: one potential reason for the spring in his step here on day 13, the warm welcomes at nearly every stop. grand arrival ceremonies. lavish state dinners. the president seemed to love every minute of it. >> red carpet like nobody i think has probably ever received and that really is a sign of respect perhaps for me a little bit but really for our country. >> reporter: president trump added an extra day to this already marathon tour. the president will attend another regional leaders summit on tuesday before heading back to washington. diane, kendis. >> all right, a busy, busy two weeks for the president. karen travers there. now to the other breaking story overnight, the death

toll is now more than 320 people confirmed dead after that powerful earthquake. it struck between the border there of iraq and iran. hundreds of miles from the epicenter though american soldiers in baghdad reported feeling the rocking. abc's molly hunter tracking the details. molly, good morning. >> reporter: diane and kendis, good morning. authorities are still going door to door trying to get a sense of the range of the breadth of the damage from this massive quake. now watch this moment. this is the moment that quake strikes sunday afternoon during a live tv interview this is in northern iraq in kurdistan. the quake struck in a remote area on the border of iraq and ran, more than 150 miles from baghdad where our abc news producer felt strong shakes and look at the anguish in this man's face and this man's arms in the air. hospital beds have already been moved outside and armed services are setting up field hospitals where they can in that border region. diane and kendis. >> all right. molly, thank you. now to the explosive allegations rocking the republican candidate for senate in alabama.

>> roy moore's campaign says they believe the story about his alleged sexual contact with a 14-year-old was leaked by political opponents and now moore is planning to fight back. abc's lana zak has the new details on that. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, kendis and diane. moore told his supporters late last night he intends to actually sue "the washington post" over that story and moore's longtime pastor of 25 years says he's hurt by the allegations. roy moore remains defiant this morning. even if president trump were to ask him to drop out of the race for alabama senate, a senior adviser to the republican candidate says he would keep going. last week "the washington post" reported that when moore was 32 he allegedly initiated sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl and pursued three others between the ages of 16 and 18. and now teresa jones who worked as a deputy d.a. alongside moore during the time in question is tweeting,

it was common knowledge about roy's propensity for teenage girls. moore's democratic challenger doug jones said he had no prior knowledge of the accusations and called on moore to explain himself. >> they are serious allegations that need to be addressed, not just in general denial and blaming somebody else. >> reporter: in alabama there are mixed opinions. >> i believe it's something that somebody waited for an opportune moment. >> reporter: but in general republican leaders are not coming to moore's defense. >> from my point of view i have to say i think the accusations have more credibility than the denial. i think it would be best if roy would just step aside. >> reporter: pat toomey joining john mccain and bob corker in calling for moore to withdraw immediately. 41 other republican senators saying he should step aside if the allegations are true. in a radio interview with sean hannity, moore was asked specifically about dating teenagers. >> do you remember dating girls that young at that time? >> not generally, no. if i did, you know, i'm not going to dispute anything but i don't remember anything like that.

>> reporter: and the election is now just a month away. some republicans had hoped that alabama's governor would postpone it to buy them some time but she tells abc news the election will take place on december 12th as scheduled. kendis, diane. >> all right, we'll see how that turns out. lana zak live from washington, thanks. the army is now accepting recruits with a history of some mental health issues. according to "usa today" people with problems like drug and alcohol abuse, depression and bipolar disorder can now apply for waivers to join the armed forces. the service is under pressure to recruit 80,000 new soldiers in the next year. the army overlooked marijuana use and low aptitudes to meet last year's quota. time now for a look at your monday morning weather. might be a slick commute in the central appalachians. you can see the storm system there on the radar. roads and sidewalks are cold

choose and rather than choose darkness as one young man did that day i say we choose light and by choosing light -- amen. >> that is reverend frank pomeroy who lost his daughter in last week's church shooting near san antonio, texas. for the first time the public has now been allowed into that church which is now a memorial to the victims. the pews have been removed and 26 white chairs have been set up, one for each of those killed. plans are being discussed to keep the church as a memorial site. sunday services were held outdoors under a massive tent. the texas senator john cornyn there among those attending. he's promising to introduce legislation to fix what he calls the broken gun background check system. police at the mall of america say two people were stabbed during an attempted robbery at the macy's store. investigators say the suspect stabbed the victims after they caught him trying to steal personal belongings from the dressing room. other shoppers reportedly subdued the subject but children nearby who were waiting to sea

santa claus saw the whole thing. thankfully the injuries are not life-threatening and the suspect is in custody. those everyday low prices at walmart apparently aren't so low online. "the wall street journal" reports walmart has been raising prices for some food and household items on its website in hopes of driving foot traffic into its stores. other big box retailers are reportedly doing the same thing including costco. but analysts say even walmart's higher online prices typically match amazon's. attorney general jeff sessions and the justice department are being sued by a 12-year-old girl with epilepsy who wants to legalize medical marijuana nationwide. the lawsuit by alexis could benefit millions of americans who cannot legally obtain pot to treat their illnesses. alexis says marijuana gives her immediate relief from seizures. it was so effective that her family moved from texas to colorado where the drug is legal. a guitar that bob dylan played just in the 1970s sold

of the true celebrity. and this morning, we are noting her passing and remembering smith for the way she raised the bar redefining the notion of celebrity gossip. smith's column ran in new york newspapers for 33 years and was syndicated in dozens of others. in her conversation with abc news a few years ago, she compared the celebrities of today with those of a bygone era. >> old studios as much as they were criticized were like finishing schools and what they produced was a phalanx of stars that have only now just begun to die out. so we worshipped those people and they were worth worshiping. when you said greta garbo, everybody knew who you meant and she didn't have to be explained in six lines. >> smith famously said gossip is just news wearing a red dress and running ahead of the pack. liz smith was 94 years old. >> she had a way with words, indeed. we are learning details about a smoking backpack that caused chaos and shut down the airport terminal in orlando. passengers started scrambling

and running over each other to get to safety on friday and ricardo perez, you see him there, the tsa agent, an army veteran jumped into action fearing it was an explosive device. >> i looked at it, picked it up and i was already close to it. i figured if it was going to be an explosion, if i can get it to somewhere away from these folks, then that's what i was going to do. i was already too close. i was done -- if it would have went off, i was done. >> can you imagine? turns out it wasn't a bomb but a lithium ion camera battery that caught fire. at least 19 incidents involving those batteries have been reported on planes or at airports this year alone. the faa has been pushing for tighter regulations. now, to that terrifying scene at this college party in texas. kind of hard to see in the video but you can kind of hear the screams when the floor beneath dozens of dancing students collapses sending them crashing into the floor below. the aftermath here,

the collapse prompted the sprinkler system to go off adding to the chaos. only minor injuries were reported. the student who hosted the party said too many people showed up. in medical news, one reason why women are at a higher risk of dying from cardiac arrest is because they're less likely to get cpr from a bystander. the study by the heart association found only 39% of women suffering cardiac arrest in a public place were given cpr versus 45% of men. researchers say bystanders are often reluctant to touch a woman's breasts but that's not necessary because proper cpr calls for placing it on the sternum which is in the middle of the chest. to sports now, the dolphins versus the panthers on monday night football. >> we get some sunday highlights from espn. >> good morning, america. >> good morning, utica. >> he's john. i'm john. america's team got america's beatdown. >> ezekiel elliott, game one of the six-game suspension so dak

good morning to you. coming up on 4:30 a.m. on this monday, november 13. >> that's right. we'll check in with sue hall. we're going to start with mike nicco and a look at our weather. a few droplets this morning on the way in. >> a little bit of drizzle. i was talking to sue. she will tell us where she ran into wet weather, also. on live doppler 7 coming on the peninsula coast down in the south bay you can see between the san mateo/dumbarton bridge to 237, vallejo and heading up to dixon, firefield and vacaville now. this is all slowly moving off to the northeast so there's some other areas that could run into some of this wet weather as we head through the morning hours. here we go the last two hours. even if you're not seeing a lot of r rain in your neighborhood there still could be some drizzle making for a slick commute.

matt? >> reporter: good morning, reggie and natasha. this is an incredibly sad story. while marquis goodwin was providing one of the highlights of the 49ers season he was mourning the loss of his newborn son. >> wide open for the speedster, goodwin. and goodwin is gone. a 49rs touchdown. >> reporter: marquis goodwin knelt in the end zone and dropped to both needs after running in an 83-yard touchdown. the wide receiver then fell to his hands as teammates gathered around him. goodwin posted on instagram following the game that his son died after being born prematurely early sunday morning. wrote, unfortunately, we lost our baby boy due to complications and had to prematurely deliver him around 4:00 a.m. although we are hurt, i'm grateful for the experience and god blessed me with a wife and courageous and resilient as morgan. the pain physically, mentally, and emotionally she has endured is unbelievable. please pray for the goodwin
