family. he included a photo. if you'd like to see that you can go to our website, abc7news.com. reporting live, matt keller, abc 7 news. after surviving the horror of the north bay fires, santa rosa residents are finding out their troubles are far from over as a storm moves in. >> and the problem is there is nothing to support any run-off from the rain, mud slides, flooding, debris flows, and sinkholes are now threatening the area. one sinkhole opened up on newberry court. plastic drains burned. officials are warning residents they need to have a plan to be ready to leave if necessary. firefighters will be tested for exposure to chemicals. they had take blood and urine samples from 175 firefighters to determine what they were exposed to from burning furniture and other household goods.

$100,000 to support that study. it is 4:30. let's check in with mike to see if our friends in the north bay need to worry about the rain this week. >> it's a great question, reggie. i was thinking the same thing as were you talking about that. no, they do not, not today and tonight. wednesday night, it's getting closer as the storm is getting stronger. we'll talk about that in the next 15 minutes. first the golden gate bridge. it's definitely wet from some of the drizzle to light rain this morning. thankfully the winds are very light right now, only three to five miles per hour. now as we take a look at your 12-hour day planner what you're going to see are temperatures running 49 to 53 at 7:00. about 60 to 66 at noon. 59 to 65 at 4:00. 56 to 60 at 7:00. so mild but just about anytime, anywhere a scattered shower could be going on during the entire 12 hours. here's sue. >> look at the slick roads on the golden gate bridge. over to emeryville with the 80

freeway and on into the mcarthur maze moving nicely at the limit. and let's take a quick check of the bay bridge. no problems here. no metering lights. you will find yourself in minor delays in those right- left-hand side lanes. an accident partially blocking the slow lane northbound before the cats. apparently a tire became disengaged from the car and is also in lanes there as well. expect minor delays and we'll check back in a few minutes. >> thank you, sue. a death investigation under way this morning aboard a tanker moored off the coast of relative mond. a report from a shipping agent that a person died onboard just before 7:30 last night. the ship is docked along canal bouleva boulevard. it arrived saturday. no other details were immediately available. the state senate is changing the way it investigates sexual misconduct complaints after new

allegations against a sitting senator. yesterday the senate announced it will hire a team to investigate the complaints. usually harassment complaints are handled internally by human resources and the results are not made public. tony mendoza of los angeles has been accused of sexually harassing two women who previously worked for him. he denies those allegations. moving to hollywood, several hundred survivors of sexual harassment and assault marched down sunset boulevard along with a slew of reporters called the me too survivor march after trending hash tag of recent weeks. more needs to be done than weed out people. at the live desk this morning, we are monitoring the death toll and damage following that deadly earthquake near the iran/iraq border. those numbers continue to change, and we just got the latest updates saying there's now 341 people reported dead in those two countries. nearly 6,000 people are injured. i do want to show you this new

video we got overnight from inside of a restaurant there, you can see the chandeliers swinging as the 7.3 quake hit last. 6:20 our ti the quain the past 24 hours have been seven substantial aftershocks in the region ranging from 4.2 to 5.3 and, again, this new video continues to come in and we will update the numbers. president trump ignored numbers about human rights abuses while meeting with the philippine counterpart in manila. the president said they have a great relationship. dutarte makes no apologies for killing people without a trial. president trump will return to

washington wednesday. down the street from the u.s. embassy in the streets of manila up to 2,000 protested president trump's visit. an effigy was set on fire. large crowds pushed against lines of officers in riot gear who responded with water cannons. dozens of protesters were injured as well as six police officers. demonstrators say they're going to be out in force tomorrow when the summit is scheduled to end. san francisco police officer critically injured in a hit-and-run is being moved to a rehab facility. the officer suffered serious brain injury last month. he was on bike patrol on turk street october 18 when he was hit by a car of a fleeing suspect. that suspect 50-year-old marquis johnson was later arrested after a citywide manhunt. oakland police are stepping up their battle against side shows. they tweeted pictures of several cars they towed last night belonging to suspected sideshow drivers. police were tipped off on social media about the side shows happening this weekend.

the department put extra officers on the street and highway patrol had extra units on nearby freeways. police were on alert in case drivers tried to escape there. and a wild scene on the sidelines of the 49ers game at levi stadium yesterday as santa clara police struggled to restrain a man -- watch as he and an officer tumbled onto the field during that scuffle. the man, as you can see, wearing the jersey of the opposing team, the new york giants. officers walked him away in handcuffs. california sanctuary state law begins in a month and a half and the majority of residents like it. the sanctuary state law will shield people who are here illegally from deportation. 53% are in favor of the legislation. 29% do not like it. the law will put california squarely against the trump administration. the president has been emphatic about increasing immigration enforcement. let's take a look at

temperatures around san francisco. 55 is a very popular number. lake merced, glenn park, mission, castro, all the way up to about 59 in ocean beach. financial, the cool spot at 53. here is a look at 101 and 880. one of the reasons i wanted to show this there's more traffic than normal. i'm not sure what that means but it is dry in the south bay. you'll be one of the last areas to see wet weather. that will make some slick spots on the roads. you may need an umbrella if you can't find shelter taking mass transit. if you're on the ferry today you probably want to stay inside if you run into some of that wet weather. around the state today 74 down in l.a. with afternoon sunshine. 63 in monterey with a few patches of drizzle. the same thing for san francisco. redding and tahoe wet weather and windy conditions today. but look at wednesday. 10:00 in the morning to friday, 4:00 in the afternoon. 8 to 18 inches of snowfall at

6,000 feet. at least double that above 8,000 feet as a very strong storm comes in wednesday and thursday. and that means friday sunshine returns but there could be a lot to be skiing on. saturday and sunday partly cloudy. the same storm will bring everybody rain wednesday and thursday. a slight chance over the weekend. i'll have all of that coming up in the accuweather seven-day forecast. here's sue. >> the san mateo bridge, the first thing out of the chute looking pretty good. we are getting first reports of an accident at the dumbarton bridge just before the toll plaza so we'll check back on that in a couple of minutes. you may want to avoid that. back to the santa cruz mountains with this accident still partially blocking the slow lane, northbound 17 before the cats. it is a solo spinout. i have a feeling we'll see a lot of that this morning. the roads are slick out there in the north bay. use caution and maybe slow it

down a bit. we will come back in a few and check that accident at the dumbarton. thank you, sue. storm will work to begin storm damage. >> sky 7 shows the damage that happened during the massive storms in february. you can see the large chunk of pavement that's missing. five washouts in all of the highway -- on the highway have been repaired. that repair is part of a $7 million emergency contract to fix over 50 locations on four highways in the santa cruz mountains. this morning things not looking good for embattled alabama republican senate candidate roy moore. i have the latest on the sexual accusations against him next. >> uber cuts a multibillion dollar deal with a japanese conglomerate. the change for the ride hailing giant. joe biden says he is not sure running for president is the right thing to do. he has a different idea for helping the democratic party and join 7 on your side's michael finney this friday. he will be answering your consumer questions and showing you how to check to see if you

him win. abc's lana zak joins us live from washington with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, jessica. yes, in fact, roy moore is firing back saying he intends now to sue "the washington post." moore's longtime pastor of 25 years says moore is deeply hurt by these allegations. roy moore remains defiant this morning. even if president trump were to ask him to drop out of the race for alabama senate, a senior adviser to the republican candidate says he would keep going. >> good morning, judge moore. >> reporter: last week "the washington post" reported when moore was 32 he allegedly initiated sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl and pursued three others between the ages of 16 and 18. and now teresa jones who work as a deputy d.a. alongside moore at the time in question is tweeting it was common knowledge about roy's propensity for teenaged girls. moore's democratic challenger doug jones says he had no prior knowledge and called on moore to explain himself.

>> there are allegations that need to be addressed directly. >> reporter: republican leaders are not coming to moore's defense. in a radio interview with sean hannity moore was asked specifically about dating teenagers. >> do you remmber dating girls that young at that time? >> not generally, no. if i did, you know, i'm not going to dispute anything, but i don't remember anything like that. >> reporter: some had hoped the governor would postpone the election. it will continue as originally scheduled just a month away. reporting live from washington, lana zak, abc 7 news. uber says it has struck a deal with an investment deal for a stake in the san francisco ride hailing giant and that deal could be worth as much as $10 billion. it would include changes to uber's leadership. soft bank plans to buy $1 billion worth of newly issued shares giving ownership of about

dumbarton bridge towards newark. all getting light rain right now. now as we head through the morning you can see just the scattered nature of the green there mainly north of the south bay. the south bay you may dry up just a little bit. and then we'll start to see a better chance as we head through the evening and overnight hours. some of this making it down to the south bay. by 4:00 tomorrow morning an isolated shower around. during the commute the clouds will start to open up. any measurable rain will be mainly north of san francisco and oakland by tomorrow's morning commute you can see a few slick spots around mountain view and san jose. as far as temperatures today, 59 in half moon bay. got to be a little chilly there. 62 to about 67 for the rest of us until you get down around san jose at 69. tonight's temperatures cooler. not as cloudy. not as humid.

44 to about 53. my accuweather seven-day forecast, tuesday, clouds to sunshine. wednesday, the showers come in overnight and it's going to rain heaviest while most of us are sleeping. we'll wake up thursday morning to some scattered showers. dry friday and then another chance saturday night. all right. one area that's been raining this morning, san rafael. tell us about it, sue. >> it was raining this morning when i left and it looks like it's still wet now. we have a live look at 101 past the north gate mall and up past the civic center moving nicely there. about a 20-minute drive from novato into the golden gate bridge. we'll check on that in a couple of minutes. let's get an update for you. we had a couple accidents. first we'll go to the santa cruz mountains. that accident has been cleared out of lanes. that's the better news there. it was a solo spinout right near the cats. northbound 17. so that is now clear. we do have a couple of other problem spots. we'll go to the dumbarton bridge. mike was saying some rain

pesticides. take a look at this video from drone view 7. one of six fields where the pesticide was applied on friday and there was no explanation as to why that was done. walnut creek soccer club sent out a notice to its members saying, quote, this decision was not made lightly but was in the best health of our players, spectators and referees. an order of free pizza turned into a disaster. this happened at an obstacle gym. these kids, up to 40 of them, were rushing upstairs to get the pizza when a wooden platform collapsed beneath them. most of the injuries were bumps and bruises but the kids were really scared. >> it was really scary and everybody was crying and bleeding. >> two of the kids did go to the hospital. the gym's owner is offering an apology but no explanation for exactly what happened. city building inspectors are investigating that incident. this is fascinating. there's a new study that shows women suffering cardiac arrest

in public are less likely to get cpr than men and therefore more likely to die. the american heart association found that only 39% of women in that situation were given cpr compared to 45% of men. men were 23% more likely to survive. researchers think it's about a reluctance to touch a woman's chest is one of the number one reasons for those numbers. doctors say it should not be a legitimate worry. you should be pushing on a woman's sternum which is below her chest. >> it's always good to have that class and renew it as often as you can. a look at the storm impact scale for today and tonight. our first storm this week, light showers and weak winds. so a quarter of an inch to three-quarters of an inch in the north bay. the rest of us less than a quarter of an inch. and that's what you get from scattered showers. here's a look at what will happen wednesday morning. the north bay gets wet until the evening hours and then it starts moving that light to moderate rain into the rest of our

neighborhoods and overnight for the most part it's gone. and then there's some scattered showers in the north bay for thursday afternoon. but that next storm we could get up to an inch of rain in some areas. we'll keep an eye on it. here's sue. >> our traffic maps, things are looking good for this monday morning. we have the usual slowing out of tracy. ace train number one, by the way, left on time this morning so no problems there. a good way to go. we had an accident the dumbarton to plaza, just before the tolls, 84 in the westbound direction. that has been cleared off to the right shoulder. to the carquinez bridge a motorcycle down partially blocking the left lane. that has been cleared. the damage is done, though. you can see slow traffic approaching the carquinez bridge westbound for about a ten-minute delay there. we'll check back on both of these in a few minutes plus your golden gate commute. >> thanks, sue. san francisco celebrating the opening of a new urban garden. the san francisco public utilities commission teamed up
