princess kennedy had the shock of her life today when she saw her mom, 54 nicole kennedy at the hospital after she had been mauled by two pitbulls. >> her leg is broken, a piece of her head is open. >> reporter: nicole has severe bite wounds from her head and face. >> she came from getting coffee and smoking a cigarette. she came down to take the dog walking. >> reporter: that was 10:00 this morning. two bit pulls escaped from a neighbor's yard and killed nicole's dog before mauling her and the man that had come to help. >> i'm praying she'll be okay and i'm waiting on a phone call to go back up and see. it's pretty bad. the nurse is cleaning her up while the operating people was coming in. i thought my mom was dead. >> reporter: the pitbull are in the custody of animal control. nicole's dog who was killed was

[ laughter ] this is pathetic. as i walked off this stage yesterday, i came to a conclusion that i want to run by all of you, and i hope you agree. of all of the tournaments we have done on "jeopardy!", this year's tournament of champions has been the most fun. we've laughed. we've had some good times. [ cheers and applause ] it's almost as if the money isn't important, but it is. now with these scores here at the end of the first round, i don't think buzzy, alan, and austin are going to exceed the minimum guarantees of $50,000, $100,000, and $250,000. but...hey, it ain't chump change. good luck. let's go to work. categories... very straightforward. also straightforward.
