tuesday, november 21st, almost 6:00 a.m. alexis is off today and sue is here. >> mike nicco is here. >> tell us about the weather. >> i was checking out more of those record high temperatures possible today, tomorrow and maybe even on thanksgiving. look at the breezes blowing offshore, 13 miles per hour at fairfield. a look from mt. tam, partly cloudy and cloudy conditions that are out there. we've got a few areas of fog in the east bay and north bay. otherwise high clouds that dominate us and keep us at 49 to 53 at 7:00, 65 to 69, temperatures already above ample at noon, 66 to 69 at 4:00. those are some record high temperatures at least between noon and 4:00 when we hit the 70s. by 7:00 we will still be in the low to mid 60s. a great evening in store. we have a backup at the bay bridge, they did turn the metering lights on, it's relatively light otherwise but

you will find a 12 minute delay getting from the back of the backup into san francisco. you can carpool always a great way to go, we find those lanes pretty virtually free and at the limit most mornings. slow and go for a 40 minute ride up towards the livermore area from the central valley. an earlier big rig that lost a cargo container that's been cleared out the lanes so no delays through the dixon area. we did have a motorcycle down westbound 80 near cutting that is blocking a lane of traffic and we are starting to see areas of slow into richmond. no injuries involved, that's the good news. hopefully they will get that out of lanes for the rest of your morning commute. yes, recreational pot will soon be legal in california but in some -- in san francisco some people don't want to see advertisements for it. >> at least not on muni. today the transportation agency's board will consider saying no to pot money. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield live along market street for us. >> reporter: good morning.

yeah, muni says some people have complained about these moving ads. they are large, take a look at them, they take up the whole side of a bus. muni says they have about 130 of these ads, medical marijuana ads, on the sides of buses in san francisco. this proposed amendment would ban them. muni already bans ads for tobacco, alcohol and firearms so they don't think it's a reach to put marijuana in that >> people have been disturbd about seeing the ads on a public transit system like muni and that's something we take seriously. that's why we're proposing this legislation to ensure at that we take that feedback and are making this change. if approved for this point in time. this proposed amendment doesn't look like it has any push back, mayor ed lee even says our kids don't need to be influenced by these

advertisements. they say they aren't wore. he had about the loss of revenue saying other companies will buy the ad space. this will be voted on at today's board meeting set for 1:00 this afternoon. amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. pcharlie rose allegations, cbs e has suspended the long time television journalist, his trademark interview show has been pulled from pbs and bloomberg television following allegations published by the "washington post" that he sexually harassed several women. abc's stephanie ramos is live in washington, d.c. with more. >> reporter: we're now seeing daily sexual allegations against very well known men, the "washington post" says the women accusing long time journalist charlie rows of sexual misconduct did not know one another and worked for charlie rows at different times. another familiar face is accused of be sexual misconduct,

we will talk more about that next. pretty light conditions out of marin county across the golden gate bring and on into san francisco. you have two lanes in the northbound direction, four lanes for the southbound commute into the city. coming from san rafael you are looking at a 20 minute ride into the city. fairly holiday light. we do have an issue here near cutting boulevard, 80 westbound with a motorcycle and a car getting into it. it's blocking the right lane and i am seeing slow traffic backing from highway 4 in hercules towards the scene. and we will take a look at your holiday commute to bart on thanksgiving, we will be running a sunday service, bart on black friday will be modified and i did want to point out that bart parking on thanksgiving is free. bart parking on black friday is not free and no ace train service on thursday or friday out of the central valley. new at 6:00, pay your library fines or else. according to the examiner the san francisco public library enlisting the city's debt collector now to go after patrons are overdue fines.

friday, and then the rain sets in, a storm light on our impact scale for sunday and monday, temperatures back into the mid 60s. an hour ago metering lights turned on at the bay bridge toll plaza. if you can consider carpooling those carpool lanes on the right and left at the limit, breezing through while the rest of you have a 12 to 14 minute delay to get to pay your tolls. slow traffic once again out of the central valley that's fairly typical and we have an accident blocking the right rain of traffic involving a motorcycle and car that's leaking fluid out there. chp is just now arriving on scene. you can see the backup almost to highway 4 if you're traveling westbound on 80. we will take a look at those drive times. 80 from highway 4 into the maze a yellow zone. once you get to the bay bridge toll plaza there is your delay behind the tolls and if you're traveling to sfo from the city

san francisco is honoring the transgender community, you see city hall there lit up in pink, white and blueover night. those are the dolores of the transgender flag. yesterday was transgender day of remembrance. that tradition began 18 years ago in san francisco. the san francisco lgbt center dedicated an alter to members of the trans community who lost their lives to bigotry and hatred. at least 25 transgender and gender nonconforming people were murdered in the u.s. so far this year. that is the highest annual total on record. it is time to ask finney and today sherri from santa rosa has a question about fema. >> show spoke up to on our 7 on your side event in santa rosa. >> whatever our insurance doesn't cover does fema step in and cover what isn't covered? >> hi, sherri. that's a really good question. first, fema offers two grants, one a critical assistance need

spoke with officers at the scene this morning. matt? >> reporter: good morning, jess kachlt we're still waiting for an update from san jose state police on this incident but here is what we do know. a police sergeant was bunched in the face and had to be taken to the hospital after an altercation earlier this morning. check out the video, this happened at about 12:20 this morning at third and san antonio. three males were handcuffed. two were restrained and put on gurneys and taken away in ambulances, a third man was in handcuffs and put into a police car. still waiting to find out what led up to this altercation. with he did hear from an officer earlier this morning, we asked her how the sergeant was doing and she said he's doing okay and should recover. reporting live in smg, matt keller, abc 7 news. happening today the defense is expected to continue its closer arguments in the kate steinle murder trial. the jury could begin deliberating as soon as this afternoon. steinle's parents and relatives

of the defendant were in court yesterday as prosecutors spent 70 minutes presenting closing arguments to jurors. the prosecution told jurors garcia zarate went to pier 14 because it was a target rich environment and that he pointed the gun at steinle and pulled the trigger. the defense claims dprz found the gun and fired it accidentally. that verdict could come down anytime after clesing arguments wrap up. you can be the first to know when that verdict comes down by down loading the abc 7 news app and enable push alerts. a judge has blocked an order from president trump that would have cost two major bay area communities billions of dollars, santa clara county filed a lawsuit to stop the trump administration from withholding funds from a sanctuary santa clara county stood to load $1.7 billion, san francisco had $2 billion at stake. >> every step of the way the

county of santa clara has won on this case and this is really an almost fatal blow to the administration on the issue of detention, of immigrants without due process. the department of justice said the district court exceeded its authority and it is preparing to fight. this morning mgm resorts not commenting on lawsuits filed by attorneys representing shooting victims from the las vegas massacre. the lawyers say they have filed five lawsuits involving 450 victims who were shot, trampled or now suffer from the defendants include mgm resorts which owns the mandalay bay hotel and live nation which promoted the harvest festival. the security was an utter failure. they had no plan. they violated their own policies. they violated industry standard policies and they ignored what

their own experts told them to do. >> again, the motel has no comment. it has previously blamed the massacre on the gunman. no specific damages were specified in the lawsuits but the attorney said $1 billion wouldn't be too much. some insurance companies are giving north bay fire victims inaccurate information about their rights under state law. >> dave jones says adjusters brought in from out of state are telling victims their living expense benefits expire in 12 months. it's actually 24 months. also they were told they only have 6 to 12 months to collect the replacement cost st of the homes, again, it's actually two years. others were told that if they don't radio rebuild in the same location they won't get full replacement costs that is incorrect. >> people who lost their jobs due to the fires have another month to apply for federal unemployment benefits. hundreds of people are still looking for work. the labor department session tending the application deadline to december 18th and claims for

breaking news this morning. a major recall from ikea after the death of an eighth child. a toddler who died here in california and this recall is for more than 29 million chests and drawers and the recall includes the malm and other non-malm models. those pieces of furniture can easily tip over if not anchored to a wall. it's a recall that was first announced in june 2016, but this morning the ceo has asked the company to increase its awareness. the company reportedly just e-mailed 13 million people about this same recall, only two months ago.

push back, even mayor ed lee is in favor of it, saying we don't need this advertising influencing our kids. muni officials say they aren't worried about losing the ad revenue saying they feel confident other companies will fill the slot. that board meeting is set for 1:00 this afternoon. live in san francisco, amy who will feed. the fbi says an investigation into the hells angels motorcycle gang has not ended with the arrest of eight members in sonoma county. photos hoe fbi agents arrested them on saturday. an indictment accuses the club members of violent crimes spanning 15 years including a murder in fresno. the indictment claims hells angels members committed acts of violence to maintain and enhance membership and discipline in the gang. a settlement has been reached on the 2015 balcony collapse. the terms of the settlement with the owners and managers of the

sleeves and short. get the rain gear ready for sunday and monday, a light impact on our scale. more company on the 80 east shore freeway. a live shot those head lights westbound on 80 into the mcarthur maze. traveling from hercules into san francisco this drive time does include the bay bridge backup, it's about 45 minutes for that total drive. red means slowing, we are seeing some of that as we just mentioned, the east shore freeway is a bit jammed up, westbound before cutting we had an earlier accident that's now out of lanes. you should be recovering. little patching of slow and gone through panol and el sobrante. earlier accident coming out of the caldecott west 24 before 980 has been cleared out of lanes. that drive looks fairly good. yes, some slowing out of walnut creek on 24 through orinda and out of the tunnel. give yourself a little bit of extra time. we will check on your bay bridge backup in a few minutes.
