overnight. now eight of those people have been found. there were 11 onboard. a tweet from the u.s. navy. they say there is a search and rescue operation still under way for those missing. the eight people rescued are now undergoing medical evaluations. the aircraft was on its way to the carrier "uss ronald reagan" when the plane crashed. i'm going to be tracking the search throughout the morning. i will let you know as soon as we get any updates. >> thank you, jessica. the kate steinle murder trial is in the hands of the jury. >> 12 men and women have to consider a full range of charges from manslaughter to first-degree murder. amy hollyfield is live for us in san francisco. good morning, amy. >> reporter: hi, good morning, natasha. the jury is scheduled to deliberate for three hours today before going on to the thanksgiving break. now kate steinle's family was

not in court for the closing arguments and it looks like her relatives might not be planning on being here when the verdict is read. the judge said he would give everyone two hours' notice before reading the verdict so everyone could get here. the steinles live in the east bay. now he has changed that to 30 minutes. prosecutors say that family has been through a lot. >> make no mistakes about it, our office is committed to doing everything we can to bring the steinle family justice. they've shown incredible resolve during this difficult time. we're committed to bringing them justice. >> reporter: the jury must decide whether jose ines garcia zarate intentionally shot and killed kate steinle or if it was an accident as he claims. his attorneys say he found the gun under a chair at pier 14, picked it up, and it went off. prosecutors say he aimed it at steinle who was walking with her father when she was shot and killed. the jury is being asked to consider three different charges. first or second-degree murder or

to go through. it's 5:06. the former usa gymnastics doctor accused of sexually abusing more than 125 women and girls expected to plead guilty in court. larry nassar's latest accuser is gabby douglas. "sportscenter" tweeted douglas has become the third member of the fierce five u.s. women's gymnastics team to say she was abused by former team doctor larry nassar. you may remember douglas apologized for a tweet she posted last week that vaguely alluded to claims suggesting women who dress provocatively entice, quote, the wrong crowd. >> the fbi is offering a $5,000 reward to find a member of the hell's angels chapter. russell allen lyles jr. an indictment accuses them of violent crimes spanning 15 years including a murder in fresno.

shoplifting is not a little thing especially in china. and then he went on toy, ungrateful fool. reggie? >> this just doesn't seem to want to end. apple is admitting high school interns worked illegal overtime but it denies they were forced to do so. six of the 3,000 students told "the financial times" they worked 11-hour days assembling hundreds of smart phones at a plant in china. those are illegal for chinese interns in that country. apple says the students worked voluntarily and were compensated and provided benefits. walgreens is taking measures to reduce robberies at its pharmaci pharmacies. the company is installing time-delayed safe. they think it takes a few minutes after being unlocked giving officers time to respond. some pharmacists say thieves will not believ that there is a delay and may think that the pharmacist can't open the safe if properly motivated and that

presentation high school were put on paid administrative leave due to allegations. we also know that two former students are speaking out today about their experiences here at presentation and what they want to see changed at the high school. this is all taking place today at a law firm. the two former presentation high school students will share their sexual abuse stories and allegations. presentation high school has covered up sexual abuse claims for more than three decades. they are asking for changes they say will protect students from sexual abuse. an article was written for "the washington post" in october on alleged sexual abuse experience by a teacher in 1990. she says that has sparked other former or current students to come forward about their sexual abuse by teachers. acco according to media partner "the mercury news" parents were sent a letter about recent allegat n allegations which she says were reported to police. she wrote the cases are being thoroughly investigated by the

clara county sheriff's office does plan to give us an update later today. they escaped earlier this month from the santa clara courthouse in palo alto. they were in an suv when chp officers tracked them down, tried to pull them over on interstate 5. after a short chase one was arrested at a walmart but bivens drove off. officers tried to chase him. he got away. he was last seen in a 1999 green ford explorer with the number. we have information on our website. both men facing a long prison sentence in an armed robbery case. as soon as we get an update i will let you know. >> jessica, thank you. we're tracking the major shake-up at hewlett-packard. ceo meg whitman is stepping down early in the new year. five months ago she said she planned to stay at the company

after uber was widely considering her as ceo. whitman has been at hpe since 2011 and did oversee the elimination of tens of thousands of jobs. no more marijuana ads on san francisco muni. its board voted to ban all pot ads on vehicles and shelters. there are 130 medical marijuana ads on the sides of buses. they're going to be gone once the contracts expire. muni tells ban is in response to complaints from riders. the agency also says it wants to remain consistent with muni bans for tobacco, alcohol, and firearms. san jose's fire chance announced he is leaving after 25 years of service to the city. our media partner "the mercury news" reports chief curtis jacobson is taking a job as fremont's new fire chief. his last day will be december 15th. assistant fire chief robert sapien jr. will act as interim. a local casino is disputing allegations of money laundering. they face an $8 million fine for

violating laws against money laundering. the treasury department says the casino failed to have methods to report activity. for the first time since being released from jail we're hearing from a san rafael father of three detaped by i.c.e. look at this moment captured on camera. that is when you see him leaving the correctional center in elk grove and you can see hugo mejia, his wife, hugging his children after he was released last night. the undocumented construction worker was detained in may when he showed up at travis air force base to work a government construction job and since then his family as well as complete strangers have been fighting to get him released. >> he's a first time -- again to be free. wait to go see my family is what i want right now. i have to say thank you to everybody.
