now facing more years in prison. judge more than doubled his sentence for killing his girlfriend calling his origin sentence too lenient. spend another 13 years in custody instead of six years. originally received a manslaughter conviction for the shooting death of his girlfriend, but then in 2015, south african appeals court convicted him of murder handing him that original six year sentence. pistorius has haargued the shooting was a mistake. he thought there was an intruder in his home. cult leader charles manson has shutdown efforts to pay for the serial killers burial. manson died at the age of 83. the coroner now holding the remains. the new york daily news reports manson's grandson in ohio raised nearly $1,000 before a go fund me closed the page. manson will likely be kreecrema

sexual harassment claims against politicians continue on capitol hill. democratic senator al franken making a new apology to his constituents and longest serving member of the house is refusing to resign. abc news reporter stephanie ramos is live in washington morning. stephan stephanie? >> reporter: sexual harassment claims are running wild on capitol hill. some women who have come forward say this bad behavior from members of congress is nothing new. >> senator al franken responding to new allegations after two more women say he sexually violated them by grabbing their back sides at political events a decade ago. in the thanksgiving day statement, franken apologized for his actions and said, in some of those encounters, i

crossed the line for some women. i know that any number is too many. multiple women have come forward claiming franken sexually harassed them. >> al franken pulled me in towards him and put his hand on my rear. >> franken's statement on the heels of another scandal involving long time congressman john conyers. a third woman is now accusing conyers of misconduct. including melony sloan, a high profile washington lawyer who says she was harassed and verbally blabused when she work for conyers in the 90s. tells abc news during her time working for the judiciary committee, the michigan lawmakers was increasingly abusive to her and often berated her loudly in public. >> people slug off member's misconduct on capitol hill. the kind of abuse i suffered at congressman's hands was awful, but i wouldn't say it's unique. >> conyers isn't stepping down.

people were required to resign over allegations, a lot of people would be out of work in this country. including the president. >> another lawmaker is also caught up in scandal. texas congressman joe barton is apologizing for explicit photos that were released. he says they were released by his ex-girlfriend who may be retaliating against him. reporting live from washington, stephanie ramos, abc 7 news. now to ominous development in the search for missing argentine submarine and crew members. lost contact nine days ago. the now says that a sound heard shortly before the sub lost contact is consistent with that of an explosion. the announcement has shattered hopes of finding the crew alive. the u.s. navy is taking part in the national effort to find the vessel off the argentine coast southeast of buenos aires. a week from tomorrow will mark one year since oakland's deadly warehouse fire.

during the oakland raiders, denv denver broncos game. here's something to be thankful about. usually we see a big buildup at the pass every single day. today we are at top speeds through the area. also show you live look at the bridge. toll plaza. there's just one lonely truck. going through. not a lot of traffic today. that's good news. a driverless shuttle keeps attracting riders in las vegas despite the fact it got into a fender bender on the first day it cared passengers earlier this month. police believe it was actually a truck driver at fault in that mishap. this is america's first driverless shuttle carrying passengers on city streets. daily times reports about 150 people are riding that small shuttle every day. operates along streets in downtown las vegas from 10 in the morning until 6 at night. >> it's not really a tourist shuttle. it's more for people working down there, i guess.
