live where you live, this is abc 7 news. >> the jury considering the kate steinle murder case is back in court, as we wonder if today is the day they deliver a verdict for the man accused of killing steinle. the jury has a question of its own. thanks for joining us, i'm reggie aqui. kristen sze is going to be with you later today. the jury in the murder trial hasn't, been in the courthouse since wednesday. this morning they made a request of the judge. matt keller live for us in san francisco. matt? >> reporter: reggie, this is the third day of deliberations at the hall of justice in san francisco. and we were told that the jury had a question for the judge.

all that took place inside here in the past hour or so. initially, we were told the media would be allowed in for that question, but a few minutes later they told us it would just be the attorneys, the judge and the jury for that. we do not know what that question was that the jury had for the judge. this is the first day of deliberations since wednesday before the thanksgiving weekend. the jury must decide if jose garcia zarate is guilty of second-degree murder. they're also allowed to consider first-degree murder or involuntary manslaughter. defense attorney matt gonzalez says he had no intention of hurting kate steinle in the summer of 2014 on pier 15 in san francisco. gonzalez argued the gun -- prosecution told the jury garcia zarate had the gun with him, wanted to fire the gun at people. that's when he aimed at the closest target, the steinles. when the verdict is reached the judge says he'll give a 30-minute notice before it is read. reporting live there san francisco, matt keller, abc 7

nearly 2 inches at kentfield. nearly an inch at san rafael. happen inch at napa. 2/3 at oakland. half inch at sfo. quarter inch in the east bay, barely .2 an inch in the south bay. i'm tracking one more chance of rain, it could happen this weekend, reggie. >> all right, mike, we'll see in just a few minutes. that overnight rain may have been to blame for this crash in los gatos, happened before 10:00 last night along highway 17, a black volkswagon jetta went off the freeway and karimed down an ec embankme embankment. the rescue forced the closure of both northbound lanes of highway 17. they're back open now. the driver appeared to suffer only minor injuries. he was transported to a nearby trauma center for evaluation. we know the names of four victims in a hit-and-run crash in san pablo. 14-year-old joseph horn,

50-year-old darryl horn, both of dm napa. the other two victims are from bainbridge island, washington, near seattle. 12-year-old baden bittle and 52-year-old troy bittle. they were killed in the crash saturday night. fred lowe of sacramento is arrested for the crash and bo booked in jail and bond set at $1 million. raul bontenegra of los angeles apparently changed his mind, resigned now after saying he was going to wait until next year. a number of women accused him of sexual misconduct. the resignation comes one week after he said that he would not seek re-election next year. last week, he said that he would resign at the end of the current session next september. seven women have come forward to accuse him of groping, and forcing himself on them. new details now as minnesota senator al franken goes back to work following accusations of groping women while posing for

photos. he said this morning he doesn't remember those instances but you have to respect the women's experience. >> there are some womenenenenenn is too many many who feel that i've done something disrespectful and that's hurt them and for that, i am -- i am tremendously sorry. >> franken says he has let a lot of people down and vows to work to regain their trust. and new details on roy moore. a white house official says president trump will not campaign for the alabama senate candidate. the president has tweeted attacks on moore's opponent, doug jones. he's also raised doubts about the accounts of the women who have accused moore of sexual misconduct decades ago. that special election happening december 12th. a drone pilot is in custody after he flew his drone over both the 49ers and the raiders' games yesterday. that drone dropped this. it's what police describe adds

propaganda leaflets. this is can what fans saw. a big red x and lengthy text talking about the 1st amendment. for many fans the fact that it was an unauthorized drone flying over them was disconcerting. >> drop leaflets, they can drop down anything really, you think about it. it's kind of a scary thing to think someone can fly something over during the game and nobody can really stop it. >> the drone pilot's name has not been released. police say he faces several charges ranging from violating faa regulations to local ordinances that prohibit drones near stadiums. happening today, students, parents and educators plan to pack the oakland unified school district's board meeting, a proposal to cut millions of dollars they believe is going to hurt students. earlier this month the school district said it needed to cut $15 million from its budget to build its financial reserves. the district is falling short of meeting state mandates. today's school board meeting happens at 5:30 at la esquelita

the postal service not releasing much morning about a package that exploded in alameda. the incident on friday startled the avenue on lilac street. law enforcement sources say a woman living in the house had to go to the hospital but will recover. the atf, alameda police and alameda county sheriff's department are investigating the incident looking for evidence. neighbors say the house where the explosion occurred is owned by a police officer. in today's morning money report, it's the biggest online shopping day of the year. cyber monday. and amazon is bracing for record-breaking sales. that means employees, of course, are hard at work making sure all those orders get to your door. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield takes us inside the cyber monday madness at the amazon fulfillment center in tracy. >> reporter: these items zooming around the amazon facility in tracy will make history today.

christmas." >> reporter: the good news is, you have more than 12 days until christmas. a lot of the cyber monday deals are only good today. use your time wisely. in tracy, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. speaking of amazon, on this cyber monday, walmart is closing in on matching amazon's online prices for the first time. according to reuters, on average, prices on walmart's website are on the .3% more expensive than amazon. analysts say walmart invested more than a billion bucks last year to make its pricing more competitive. consistent price cuts throughout the year have lep edhelped that box store with increased sales. in new york this morning, a familiar face to help kick off trading on wall street. [ bell ] look at that. mickey mouse alongside disney ceo bob iger. the duo there to ring the opening bell at the new york stock exchange. disney is there to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary on the stock exchange.

22-year-old canadian born in kazakhstan helped russian agents steal 500 million yahoo! acco t accounts. he's expected to change his plea to guilty tomorrow in a san francisco courtroom. it's never too soon to talk about bay area baseball, right? happening now, tickets are on sale for the a's opening day. this is going to be a special season. 2018 is 50-year anniversary of the a's in oakland. opening day, march 29th against the angels. another game to look forward to is april 17th. that will be the anniversary of the first game the a's played in oakland. what's believed to be the first time ever in major league baseball history, every fan of that game is going to get in for free. nice. >> that's a cool way to celebrate oakland. >> absolutely. >> and their fans. who have been loyal to them for many years. >> absolutely. i like that. the game yesterday, the raiders/broncos team, they tore that turf up. the field crew is the best and will have it looking great by spring. >> the last one in the business where they have to switch back

dense fog forms. for my last accuweather highlight, the weekend possibly wet. two models, one has wet, one doesn't have wet. so we've got to get a little bit closer and see exactly where those models are going to end up. all right. so for today, about 59 to 62 for most of us. up, way up, ukiah, clear lake, mid 50s. great day to walk across the bay bridge. winds 7 miles per hour. look how clean that air is. the golden gate bridge, in case i said the bay bridge. sorry about that. noon, 56 to 59. by 4:00, as you go through the accuweather 12 hour day plan e still the upper 50s. the 40s already showing up at 9:00 and fog is going to start developing. we could have a widespread fog event tomorrow morning. at midnight, we're already in the mid to upper 40s on our way to mid and upper 30s in our deepest inland valleys. the rest of us 40 to 46 degrees. in san francisco, we'll be warmer at 51. i wanted to show you the seven-day forecast for tahoe. some snow showers lingering. but those are about over for

yesterday, they held a post-thanksgiving yoga class. customers came for the yoga and stuck around for a free drink. 20 bucks for the class and a beer. 20 bucks is pretty standard for a yoga class, you usuall don't get anything to drink after, so not bad. >> i like thereat. all right. so here's a look at the nation's capitol. this new video shows the capitol hill christmas tree arriving in washington, d.c. this happened earlier this morning. this year's tree is an 80 foot tall spruce from montana. the tree lighting ceremony is set for december 6th. spirit of the season also in full swing at the white house. look at this. first lady melania trump tweeting this video this morning showing off the decorations. they include 53 glamorous trees adorned with 12,000 ornaments. there's also 180,000 feet of lights and a nativity scene. the first lady tweeted the message along the video, says "wishing you a merry christmas and joyous holiday season."
