normal backup through the maze. also tracking a couple accidents for you. one is in mountain view northbound 101 at moffett and traffic is definitely slowing right now as you make your way on northbound 101, some brake lights from 237 up towards moffett so keep that in mind and another crash also in the oakland area southbound 880 past embarcadero. i have a couple new accidents to tell you about and i will have that in my next report. developing news, investigators say that there has been a second package explosion. the u.s. post at service says both packages were delivered to homes through the mail, one at a police officer's home in alameda, the second at a home in east palo alto. the man who opened the package suffered burns to his hand. >> what was most suspicious about it is it's a jewelry store box, none of us had ordered something like that and it's something that would pique someone's interest, they would want to open it. >> investigators will not say if they think those incidents are

connected. this morning starts the fourth day of deliberations for the jury considering the kate steinle case. >> the jury has to decide if the defendant intentionally shot and killed the bay area woman on pier 14. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield live for us in san francisco. >> reporter: good morning. the jury is set to start deliberating at 9:00 this morning. josé ines garcia zarate is accused of second degree murder in a shooting he calls an accident. kate steinle was killed in that shooting at pier 14 in san francisco's -- san francisco's pier 14, that was two years ago. the jury had a question yesterday during their deliberations. the judge, though, did not let reporters into the courtroom to listen to the question-and-answer session with the attorneys. zarate is an undocumented immigrant who was set to be deported for a sixth time, but because of san francisco's sanctuary city laws he was allowed to stay and that is why this case ignited a debate on

congressional delegation plan to push back against the white house after being left out of a $44 billion disaster relief bill. they requested more than $7 million following the wildfires. the white house says it is committed to helping the state. local lawmakers are furious about not being included in this disaster bill. they say this isn't the time to play political games. california congressional lawmakers say the bulk of the aid money is going to florida and texas to help those affected by hurricanes irma and harvey. thanks to quick help concord police caught a suspected bank robber minutes after the heist. witnesses told police that the suspect entered the bank of america, demanded money from a teller and ran away with the cash. police found the expected robber, robert waterman, a few minutes later. officers also managed to return the money. happening today, sausalito is expected to take action to preempt legal marijuana sales next month. the city council is scheduled to

new details are coming in this morning. harvey weinstein being accused of more sexual accusations. british actress kadian noble is suing the former hollywood producer. also, though, suing his brother for violating sex trafficking laws and it was a lawsuit that was filed in manhattan. it claims that it was common practice of weinstein and his brother to travel across the united states and also abroad to recruit, solicit and entice young female actresses. noble claims the brothers would promise film roles to force or coerce women into sex. noble says that she herself was sexual assaulted by weinstein in a hotel room in cannes when she was discussing an acting role. so far no comment from

library here on booksin avenue and dry creek road in the willow glen neighborhood of san jose. you can see what appears to be buckshot holes in the surveillance camera and on the wall of the library. so how did police get this call? you can credit this couple, they both heard the gunshots around 4:00 this morning and went out of their home and about 200 yards away from the school and started chasing the man armed with the shotgun. >> you are not going to get away. and i didn't have any thought process after that. i know it's really, really dumb to do that, but more than anything i just wanted to get a good look at him and give a description. >> reporter: police arrived and set up a large perimeter in the area and ended up going door to door. they did not find the man but deem the neighborhood safe. police don't believe the armed man would target people. karen scherer says this is the second time she has called 911 about shots fired at the school.

the last time was two weeks ago. police are trying to get ahead of booksin elementary officials to let them know what happened. it is not believe the incident will impact classes today. matt keller. some pg&e customers are still without gas this morning after an explosion in san francisco's bernal heights. no one was hurt but that explosion did rip through an apartment building and caused major damage on mission street around 10:00 yesterday morning. crews will be out early to try to turn on pilot lights and continue inspecting the pipe they believe was the source of the leak. happening today president trump going to capitol hill for a crucial meeting. >> he is going to try to push through his tax cut plan and prevent a government shutdown. funding runs out on december 8th if there is no deal. the president's agenda is being overshadowed by his use of what many are calling a krashl slur in the oval office. >> very special people.

of california ninth graders are expected to earn a bachelor's degree. that statistics was released by the public policy institute of california. the researchers found most graduate don't complete college prep courses required for admission to get to csu or uc systems. they suggest school districts increase the number of college prep courses, put more students in those courses and beef up graduation requirements. the man accused of escaping a hawaii mental institution and flying to the bay area is contesting his extradition. he returned to court yesterday. a judge gave him the choice to admit his identity and agree agree to expedition or contest extradition and he chose the latter. his next scheduled hearing is a week from today. he has been held at the hawaii state hospital since 1981 after he was acquitted of murder by reason of insanity. housing markets across california are beginning to stall in this according to data compiled by the california association of realtors. if you think it means your rent

for the warmest day, back in the 30s with snow sunday and monday. here is frances. we're starting to see a lot of hot spots develop on northbound 101 from san jose up the peninsula. it's getting heavy north 101 underneath 880 and starts before that approaching a new accident at della cruz that may be blans. north 101 does slow on the peninsula in san matteo from highway 92 up to peninsula avenue where there is a four-car crash. you can see rts starting to get heavy all along that stretch. there is an injury crash in vallejo on the red wood street on ramp to westbound 80. westbound 80 is slow and the red wood street on ramp may be blocked. slow drive times as well tracy out to dublin. over an hour because of a couple stents along the way. it is the busiest time of the year for shopping and for thefts. what local officials are doing to try to ease your holiday stress. a popular san francisco restaurant forced to close its
